We had a party of 5 women for a friend's belated birthday celebration. Â Less than a 10 mins wait for a table on a Saturday night, wonderful! Â Restaurant was spacious and had a good crowd. Â The menu was extensive, but lacked in a cocktail menu no where to be found. Â Martinis were full of booze, the yummy taste was gone. Â The dishes we ordered were huge for a small price. Â The birthday girl and I started with a goat cheese salad, it was sooooo good. Â I had the Alstar trio sliders with crab cake, bbq pulled pork, and prime rib. Â The last dish was the app sampler. Â We had leftovers, haha. Â All the dishes we ordered I enjoyed to the fullest.
After 10pm, there was a DJ spinning. Â Unfortunately, he was playing house music. Â I'm not against house music, but a variety would have got me dancing. Â I definitely would go back if I'm around the area during dinner time!
I've been here a few times. I always get the Bisque for an appetizer. I tried the Southwest Egg Rolls. They were very tasty! I had the Chicken Florentine. It was also delicious. It was a pretty good sized chicken breast with crab meat covered with mozzerrella cheese over pasta. The portions are good sized. I would be prepared to take a doggy bag home. They don't skimp. Mastori's owns this sports bar. Those that eat at Mastori's know how they get down!
Review Source:I'd like to give this place more starts, i really would. But the experience I had a couple weekends ago was just too much to ignore.
A friend and I went to Alstarz to catch a big NBA game. Since Alstarz is a Sports Bar, we kind of figured that they would be showing the game, or at least, would be cool about putting it on. We were wrong.
We walk in to a pretty crowded place, which is fine because it's a Friday night. After finding a place at the bar we notice two things. 1) the game isn't on and 2) the bar tenders are clearly short staffed on this particular evening. I mean they were running around like crazy, so I felt a little bad. That being said, when I ordered my drink, I kindly asked if it were possible to change the channel from its current INFOMERCIAL to the game. The bartender replied "I don't know where the remote is" and without missing a step, turned around, and walked away.
Obviously, I was kind of annoyed. We came here for one reason and one reason only, to watch this game. And we weren't the only ones. The bar was full of people with their NBA jerseys on, all complaining about the same thing. But okay, calm down, I understand, they're busy and maybe they really don't know where the remote is. After I finished my first drink I asked again if they could please turn the channels, at least one of them, over to the game. This time the bartender ignored me as I sat there dumbfounded.
It took half an hour, and me ASKING TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER, before they changed the TV's off of the infomercial, which received a huge applause from the other bar goers.
If not for this ridiculous incident and the sheer rudeness of the bar tenders I'd give this place a 3.5
