A great Bowling ally!
Cheap beer, great prices on 2 hours of bowling, and pitchers of beer. Worth a trip for sure!
Be warned, The rock & bowl is powered by a Jukebox so it took a hour to crack into the heavy metal block of songs someone loaded up on, but we didn't care what sound track was fueling our beer and bowling. Just hit the Jukebox when you first walk in, cause that bad boy bottle necks.
I'm going to throw out a neg first.
The music was way too loud. Â I had to yell at my friend the whole time who was sitting right next to me. Â I love music and dancing and stuff.. but you guys have to draw the line somewhere.
I loved all the new improvements! Â The condition of the lanes was fantastic. Â The new pins looked great, the new flat screen tv's, and the food was delicious and affordable! Â I love the grilled cheese combo.
So excited for the re-vamped Lang's! Â I'm looking forward to seeing what else gets done. Â
Bowling is fun
Great spot, super convenient for those in the Providence.
The lanes were nice and  they had an afternoon special $8 all you can bowl including shoes which is a steal. They did have a food area and bar area which is convenient. They also, have televisions next to the scoreboards,  while i'm not really a sports fans my friends sure were happy that they were able to catch Sunday Night Football while bowling.
Rock and Bowl is awesome. The kid at the front desk checking you in on a Saturday night and giving you your shoes is friendly and great. If your lane is near the bar and you get the nice waitress fetching you pitchers, it's also good.....though I do agree with the earlier opinion about that chiller thingy in the middle of the pitcher robbing you of beer space.
Here's why 2 stars.....you really get the bum's rush with very little announcement when things are over and done with. Look, I get it that the liquor license is only til 12. I also get it that everyone working there wants to close it up and get where the want to go, I'm familiar with that kind of gig. But.......no need to be so abrupt about it. Be nice.
After a long 12-hour workday. . . It proved quite difficult to drag myself out to the bowling alley on a Saturday night to utilize my Groupon deal that was about to expire. Â In the end though, I was satisfied with my evening and was happy that I made my way out to Cranston. Â
With the help of my trusty GPS, I found myself driving by a familiar sight. Â Without realizing it, I had made reservations at a bowling alley I used to frequent as a very young child. Â Days of hazy smoke-filled lanes, my parents and my aunt and uncle high-fiving strikes earned for the team, and me swinging my legs that didn't quite touch the ground while munching on peanut butter crackers (but only if they were the orange ones) came floating back to me. Â
The lanes. . . significantly updated from the late 80's. . . were clean, inviting, and smoke-free. Â Staff were helpful in quickly accepting my coupon deal and getting us onto a lane. Â For a Saturday night, I was surprised by how many lanes were open for use (though I have noticed this trend as of late, apparently bowling is no longer the weekend activity of kids and teens alike). Â Bowling balls were neatly arranged behind the lanes along with table for food/drinks and seating closer to the action. Â
Behind us was the bar, where we ordered a couple of pitchers of Miller Lite. Â My only gripe about the pitcher was that it had a big cylindrical plastic piece down the middle, robbing us of beer (especially at $10ish a pop). Â If you don't want to give me as much beer, put it in a smaller pitcher. Â Don't make it so that I actually feel like I'm getting a crappy deal. Â
Props to Lois for being a great waitress. Â Not only was she prompt in delivering our drinks, she made several suggestions for tasty snacks, and even stopped me on my long trek over to the public bathrooms to inform me that there were ones much closer to my lane in the bar area! Â Additional props that her name is Lois. . . and that she works in Cranston. . . considering Lois Griffin, the stay-at-home mom in Family Guy lives in Quahog, RI. . . a fictional town said to be modeled after Cranston :-P
At 9 pm on weekends they have Xtreme Bowling with black lights, musics, and a darkened atmosphere.
I wouldn't mind returning to this location in the future to try to beat my unexpected 174 score! Â Woot!
