Ah, ye old Snellville Lanes. We used to go here when I was a high schooler, and I think it's still a high school hang-out. Unfortunately, the high school crowd these days is a little less innocent, and more likely to jump you in the parking lot. Every time I go here, I fear for my car and myself. The parking lot is very dark. It's also very expensive to bowl these days. Bowling is still fun, the lanes are still well kept, but it's not the best bowling alley in the area.

Not too bad but the crowd has changed a lot since I last went...the front person took forever to take care of us and I rolled my eyes at him...he didn't smile before but I after I rolled my eyes  that time he grinned when we returned our shoes...he snatched something out of my hand...I HATE when people to do that..i enjoyed spending time with my Mother on her birthday so that makes this a worthwhile trip...I think I'll go to Brunswick closer to my house after this...hopefully the Yelp reviewers will steer me in the right direction..the bowling alley was kind of clean but not sparkly clean..didn't eat there so I can't comment on the food

It is now official.  Snellville is a city mainly composed of High School students hanging out at every possible venue that an adult could have the opportunity to enjoy themselves.  Movie theaters, restaurants and especially bowling lanes like AMF in Snellville are a haven for these high school age kids who seem to have formed a coalition dedicated to being professional loitering nomads.

I understand why these kids would want to hang out at AMF Bowling Lanes in Snellville. It is a cool place, where any individual in your group can engage in this fun activity or "sport"  (I don't really believe it is a sport but ESPN seems to believe the contrary considering they broadcast the Bowling tournament every other weekend.)

I went here a couple of months ago for the first time in years, and the place was jam packed with kids taking up every single lane.  I asked the guy behind the counter who has the crucially important responsibility of handing out bowling shoes how long he thought it would be until I could get a lane.  He told me it was probably going to be 2 hours and that I should have called ahead if I wanted to reserve a lane.  Reserve a lane?!  This is not something that I am accustomed to doing on the rare occasions that I do go bowling.

All in all, AMF Lanes in Snellville is not a bad place to bowl if you can manage to avoid the crowds.  They even have this midnight bowling madness special on the weekends where they turn off the fluorescent lights and turn on the black lights, which makes you feel as if you have walked into a bowling wonderland with neon colored pins accompanied by strobe lights on every other lane.
