Nice location, good selection of beers on tap, good food and friendly staff. I've only been here once, I had the fish tacos and they were delicious. Not sure why some people are so negative about this place, I enjoyed my time here and I will return. It's well worth checking out.

What a great bar and grill. The fish and chips were out of this world, they were so light, and so good. The burger was charbroiled and cooked perfectly. The fries must have been battered, and were sinfully good.

It was nice to have a gluten free beer on the menu!

The outside deck overlooks the lake, the best part, they are very DOG FRIENDLY! The server brought over a water bowl for Henry, we were all happy!

After you eat and drink there is a walking path around the lake. I may need to do a few laps after that meal.

Changing my itinerary to return here next week.

We came here on a Sunday for lunch. They had a brunch menu, so although we were expecting lunch, we had some breakfast items. I got the eggs Benedict with a Bloody Mary and my husband got the breakfast burrito - both meals were great and we sat on the patio in the sun overlooking the marina. It was awesome! We'll definitely come back again.

Terrible; awful!  The service was slow and we had to ask the waitress multiple times for things like extra napkins.  It was obvious she did not want to be at work that day. The French Dip was rubbery and could not be chewed.  Poor service and poor food...I won't be going back.

My husband and I met up with some friends here on a Friday after reading great reviews and learning they have a pool table and Karaoke on Friday nights. The menu online looked pretty good so we thought it would be a great choice. I have definitely experienced better!

When we walked in every open able was dirty and needed to be cleaned. It took a while for a server to  come over talk to us and decide to start cleaning the tables. With only one server (who was very pregnant), everything was very slow. A table was finally cleaned and were seated by a window. We had to hand them 3 more glasses from the previous patrons because they left them in the window sill.

The special that night were a spicy shrimp wrap and vodka/redbull.  I chose the wrap and a margarita and my husband got a burger and the vodka/redbull. We also ordered the appetizer platter. The drinks finally started coming and they were less than amazing.

The appetizer finally showed up after another 20 minutes and it was pitiful.  A small plate with 3 of each food that we had ordered (3 jalapeno poppers, 2 cheese quesadillas, 3 cheese sticks, and 3 chicken tenders). Really? $9 for that? I should have known how the food would be from then on.

Another 30 minutes went by and our food finally started coming out. Once again, pitiful. The $10 spicy shrimp wrap was mostly lettuce with a ton of jalapenos and about 6 shrimp split between the 2 halves. The side of cole slaw that it came with was equally as awful. I think it was made with artificial sweeteners because it had that fake taste.

Al in all, the food was not great and the service was slow. The guy who came to do karaoke started setting up at 10pm (supposed to be 9) and even after he set up he sat at the bar drinking. We won't be back and it is sad because it could have a lot of potential with the location.

First time going here. Visiting from Sac and liked the location. Sevice was very slow, food mediocre but will never return and would not recommend. Both my daughter and I had hair in our food!  Neither one of us ate our meals and our special get together lunch (we live 360 miles from eachother) was ruined. Worst of all they treated us like we were trying to scam them rather than being apologetic and at least comp both our meals. They comped mine but only comped the potato salad on my daughters because that's where she found the hair!  Ridiculous!  My husbands meal was ok as well as my daughters bf's. We had a ok appetizer and drinks. We expected to pay for all but the hairy meals!  And to be treated much better. We are in our 50's and are middle income. We certainly weren't trying to scam anyone and shouldnt  have been treated as such. We will not recommend and will never return. Ended up payin 50 plus dollars for 2 sandwhiches, chips n salsa, 2 pepsis, and 2 drinks!

Even tho, I have been running at the Marina in the past seven years, I noticed this bar about eight months ago; THIS IS A HIDDEN JEWEL. Very casual, however, do not let that fool you; the food is excellent and the drinks are well made. Now, when it comes to customer service when was the last time someone made you feel as if they are there just to serve you during the entire visit and to top that by the owner (such a humble person): kuddos for that. The prices are slightly higher than other local bars but they do have promos such as happy hour and daily specials. During the weekends, the kareoke is amazing and entertaining...ONE LAST THING, IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD A VACATION GO TO ANCHOR'S FOR A DRINK DURING SUNSET-TIME AND ENJOY; AMAZING VIEW!!! if you have a date, this is THE place.

We had our group dinner here last Friday evening, during our annual Street Vibes visit.

Originally, we had reluctantly planned to return to BJ's, located 1 mile east but after their management jerked us around with the reservation, we decided it was a clear sign to locate an alternate venue for our fun.  Few of us liked BJ's to begin with but only chose it due to their past ability to handle a group of 40 motorcycle riders.  Since they no longer wanted to show any more love to the biker community, we gladly ditched them for Anchor's Bar & Grill.

It only took 1 phone call to Bob the manager, and he literally rolled out the red carpet for us.  He said he would personally ensure our satisfaction, in the hopes that we would make it our go to place for all our future Street Vibes visits.

Needless to say, we hit a grand slam homerun with this place.  They had lots of outdoor seating for us, overlooking a gorgeous marina and many of us arrived just in time for the colorful desert sunset.  Bob and his crew worked hard to handle our food and drink orders and even though they're a smaller, family style establishment, it was no sweat for us because we're easy going and laid back.

Everybody had a good time, enjoyed their meals and the vote was unanimous to return next year.  I'm hoping we can organize some live music next time around and make sure we have lovely Jessica behind the bar, perfectly pouring our libations.

Thanks to Bob and his crew for doing such an outstanding job!!!  We're all looking forward to a return visit not only next year, but anytime we're riding in the area.

The food is mediocre, but the service was excellent. Tony was my server/bartender. He was great and did and excellent job. I love that the place is pet friendly also.

I have eaten here for breakfast on a Sunday morning, and then just ate dinner there with some drinks on the 4th of July.  Both times had good service and good bar food.  For breakfast I had a ham and jalepeno egg scramble with coffee and toast.  For dinner on the 4th I had the Anchor's Burger which was a swiss, bacon, mushroom burger.  Burger was a little overcooked, but still pretty dang good.  This place provided front row seating for the fireworks, and will definitely call to get a table next year.  The waitress did bring the wrong food for one person in our party of 6, but comped a beer, and gave us 5 "two for one" drink coupons for our next visit to say sorry.  She was also really, really busy.

The food here is better than your typical bar fare.  I've had the Western Cheeseburger and a ham and cheese sandwich and both were excellent.

Drinks are reasonably priced and there are plenty of TVs to watch any game you might be interested in.  The outdoor seating area is an enjoyable place to kill some time when the weather is nice.  Both times I've been in, the owner has been serving drinks and running orders back from the kitchen.  He's super friendly and seems genuinely interested in making sure you're enjoying yourself.

As promised to our server tonight (who I also think was the owner), a 4 star review.

I have to agree with another reviewer about not knowing whether to seat ourselves or wait. However, the tables were reserved tonight for a christmas party. My guess is seat yourself - it didn't seem that formal. If you are seriously going to give a low rating over this casual of a place to eat ... very well then.

Living in this area, I've been trying to find a place that serves a KILLER long island (My other reviews pretty much will tell you I live for a good long island). I've only found two places - one being O'Skis, and the other, Anchors. One drink pretty much set me in my place. Two drinks, well, let's just say I wasn't driving anywhere soon.

Service was a tad slow, but again, they were hosting a christmas party with 30 some odd people, and we weren't in any rush.

However, everyone in the group of 4 found the food to be delicious. Three of us ordered the sampler platter (where you get to pick 4 out of 6 possible sampler items), and each item was cooked perfectly, and tasted great. The chicken wings were awesome, the chicken tenders were great. I could't complain about the food.

The server/owner came to us multiple times during the night to make sure that everything was okay. However, the only thing I mentioned to him was the strong pour on the drinks: Yes - I *love* a strong pour. But, I don't want to be walking in a crooked line after two drinks.

If I had to offer one other piece of advice: Quicker Service. I didn't really want to wait that long for my first drink.  I didn't think waiting that long for a side salad/appetizer salad was that appropriate either, but I waited patiently, and it came. Maybe it was just the night, maybe it is just the norm - but I don't think it would hurt to bring these things out quicker.

    The bottom line:

Would I come back - Definitely

Would I bring other people here - Of course

Would I recommend people to try it - Yes

Good food, friendly service and nice atmosphere what more could you want!

Went the other night with some friends for the first time and will definitely go back.  Everyone enjoyed their food.  I had the fish taco's and really liked them.  The fish was well cooked and the fixings were fresh and tasty.  Good crisp fries which is always a bonus for me.  The bartender greeted us, took our drink order, returned quickly with the drinks, took our food order and check in a couple times to see how we were and to tell us our food was on the way.  The food arrived in 10 to 15 minutes was enjoyed by everyone and the service was outstanding. Only problem was it was to windy to sit out side and enjoy the great view, next time.

The new owner is really working hard to improve the quality and service. He seems to be doing a good job. He was very accommodating and is making the place more family friendly. It's a great place to relax with a beer and enjoy the view or sunset!

When you walk into the place, you don't know if you seat yourself or wait for service.  You can't tell who works here, because the staff is in street clothes and you can't tell them apart from the customers.  The waitress came and took our drink order and then left. Took about 10 mins to come back for our dinner order and the place wasn't busy at all. The iced tea tasted dirty. Food was mediocre. The people were friendly for the most part, but the service was terrible and slow. Don't think I'll be returning anytime soon.

Disclosure up front: I used to work with one of the owners.
I came here on a Saturday afternoon and got a nice burger. They get their meat freshly ground from Ponderosa. It tasted fresh and I liked the bun, too. I got the San Francisco burger, which includes an onion ring and Thousand Island sauce. The beer battered fries were nice, too.
The clam chowder was on special. I liked it and would get it again although maybe it tasted a little too fishy.
They have lots of beer but none I wanted to drink.
The view of the Sparks Marina is nice. There's plenty of outdoor seating as well.
The fish and chips is supposed to be a big seller and I'd like to come back and try that.

The food was average. The smoking eliminates sitting indoors for me. Went for the view so we sat outside anyways. Looking over the Marina is nice. The place didn't appeal to me even with the view so I probably wouldn't"t return.

Great food, cool atmosphere.  I really liked the patio it was a beautiful evening.  Our kids were welcome and the food was fast and good.  Could do without the smoking but we were at a BAR and grill after all :)

I don't know about the food because they never came to take our order even though I went in several times.  I finally went in to the bar yo order and he told me it would be a really long wait for food.  Never mind, we have already been waiting 20 mins without being greeted and the server was rude.

been awhile since we went there, but that burger was awesome. if i go out and order a burger a major part of whether i'll personally enjoy it is how good the jalepenos are, and these were awesome. eating outside was definitely a plus cause you have a decent waterfront view.  the breeze was refreshing as well. they were out of coke at the time i went and the dr pepper i was substituted was a little flat so they either need to turn up their CO2 output or they need to replace it.  The lettuce/tomato/onion on the burger were fresh and crisp and i vaguely remember that the fries were better then most but not a smashing hit if you know what i mean. my gf did get the garlic fries which seemed the same as mine the only diff being fresh minced slightly crushed garlic sprinkled all over. it tasted strong at times and we had to spread out the garlic ourselves but not bad.. i did refrain from kissing as much after the meal to pick on her.. naturally. a waitress serving the table near us spilled water all over her patrons lol. soo hilarious for us but not so funny to them, but I can't judge either way whether the service was yay or nay.  shares the building with many other business including a place that carries the brand of dog food we need for our walking rug so there's a plus

We liked this place. I lived down the street from it for 7 years and never went. Now I moved out to Golden Valley and  I finally try this little gem. Figures. Anyways, They have all your standard "bar food" with a few other interesting things thrown in there. We both had the fish and chips with garlic fries and it was really good. Kids had mini corndogs and they liked those too. $2 Rolling Rock pints all day every day. Great place to people watch from the balcony as well as just looking at the Marina. (We went 4 days after new years and I always savor watching all those people that have no business in spandex or doing anything physical for that matter, trying to make it through the first week of "New Years Resolution") Our waitress was very nice but she was the only waitress. That's why there is not a five star rating. She was good but she had to take care of the entire place so service was SLOOOWWW. Good overall though and we will definitly be going back!

I can't believe this place isn't listed yet!  It's on the second floor at the end of the Harbour Cove building at the Sparks Marina - you can either take the stairs or use the elevator by the parking area. There is an indoor section that has kind of a "pub" feel to it.  It has a bar, some tables, a pool table - and of course TVs for sports viewing! They also have an outdoor patio overlooking the marina.  We ate on the patio and it was a great atmosphere - lite jazz playing, awesome watching the people and dogs on the marina pathway below, and a beautiful sunset!

The food here ranges from basic bar food - appetizers and sandwiches - to casual meals like seafood and pasta dishes.  Since we were here for an early supper (~5pm) I had the club sandwich and mom had the appetizer sampler - both were really good.  Nice portions, tasty, and delivered fast.  My mom had wine and we both commented on the generous serving - large glass and filled 2/3 full.

The server was fast and friendly - treated us just like the regulars who were there.  She checked on us several times, even after we finished eating and were just hanging out enjoying the sunset, but never made us feel like "get out so I can give someone else your table."  Overall, this place has a nice neighborhood bar feel - not too noisy or crazy.

Oh, and they also let you bring your dog onto the patio - they even had a water dish out for the 4-legged patrons. :)  For football fans they have NFL Sundays when there are NFL games, they have all day Happy Hour with a $5 food menu, 1/2 price appetizers, and drink specials.  They also do stuff on Thursdays and other times for various sporting events.  I will definitely be hanging out here in the future!!
