While I try to lower my expectations when in Reno, I have a preconceived notion of what an English pub experience should consist of. Shenanigans hits about half of these expectations: interior and the beer are solid; all else is sub-standard including the food.
The location in a strip mall is definitely off-putting; however, once inside you are able to settle in and forget about the exterior. Beer selection was good and I liked their little steins. The food, though, was pretty awful. We stuck to basics for apps... kept it simple. The chicken wings were tough - hard, actually - with a mediocre sauce. The potato skins bland, overcooked and lame. The onion rings were also a bit overbooked but were the best app we had.
I'm locking in at 2-stars since we went there really to grab a pub bite; however, if I was just in the mood for just a beer... I would have given it 3.
