i must say some of the PAST reviews may have hit the mark, lackluster service, frowns, etc... HOWEVER this reviewer went, ate and i have to say i had a wonderful experience. new management!!!! new servers!!!! Â new restaurant!! Â this place rocks!! great attitudes, Â and the food was fantastic!!! my server was Morgan!! awesome service! i think she came from (maybe) a higher class of restaurant??!! she is incredible, had our drinks within a minute of ordering them., appetizer within 5 minutes, refilled our drinks!, and suggested certain items! Â she/they will have a customer for as long as we live here!!! and to the people on yelp...GO THERE!!! retry it! ask for Morgan, she will give you the experience you deserve.
Review Source:First, I would like to state that our waiter (was it Guiseppe? That's what was on the receipt...) was very nice. Â He made sure we had what we needed, he checked on our drinks and everything. Â It wasn't until there was an issue about a poorly cooked steak at another table that we lost his attention. Â But most importantly, HE SMILED. Â I think this may be a foreign concept to the staff here so I applaud his happy and polite nature. Â
When we came in, the manager was sitting in for the hostess but admittedly had no idea what she was looking at as far as the seating chart thing. Â I wasn't really sure what the issue was because there were only about 5 other tables in the place so... but we got a nice table anyway. Â She was nice enough to say "have a good time". Â
The girl who sat us at our table... no smile. Â None. Â The waitresses and the bus boy (?) were all frowns. Â The only smiles we saw were out of our waiter and our original waitress who apparently was coming up on over time so was kicked out for the night. Â Seriously, they've got the manager, the hostess, maybe 3-4 waitresses, a bartender, a busboy and maybe a couple of others and the only one smiling was our waiter. Â
The food was good. Â I had the quesadilla burger and it was really good. :) Â The onion rings were "eh." My husband had one of the steaks and it came out the way he asked so that's good. Â Â Our daughter enjoyed her strawberry lemonade and that's always a good thing. Â
When our waiter was helping one of his other tables, we asked the blond waitress for some ranch. Â I was about a quarter of the way through my meal. Â She said "oh yeah, sure" and that was the last we saw of her. Â TEN minutes later, my food was cold and we still hadn't seen her. Â Our waiter came to ask how we were doing and we told him we'd like a box, my food was cold, I'd never gotten my ranch. Â He said she'd left. Â Gone home. Â Nice. Â
I wouldn't even have decided to yelp it except that eating your food while there's a bunch of frowning, pissed off looking people walking around sort of takes the fun out of the family meal time. Â
After we'd left, my husband went back inside because he wanted the manager to know that maybe she ought to have a talk with her unhappy employees and surprise surprise, the waitress who had gone home for the night was sitting at the bar. Â And apparently she said, out loud, "Oh Crap" when she saw my husband. Â Now, if it had been one of those "crap I forgot" things then no problem but apparently it was one of those "oh crap he came back" things. Â She'd been hiding in the back until we left. Â WTH? Â Really? Â
This was the first time we'd been back here in over 4 years because of the last bad experience we had there. Â Do they just always have bad days?
I like this location, I don't know why there are bad reviews about here, but maybe I just came on a good night. We were there on a Saturday evening around 10PM. We sat at a booth that had a mirror as the wall, so my son Loved looking at himself. Â :-)
Our server, can't remember his name was a man, he was pretty buff, but really friendly. It was really slow there, so I asked them why, and they say that the casinos and restaurants downtown take a lot of the customers, which makes sense to me.
We ordered the Appetizer Sampler, forgot exactly what its called but it had mozzarella sticks, hot wings, spinach and cheese dip, and quesadilla. Very good.
I had the i think jalapeno shrimp plate and my husband had a burger and my niece had mini sliders and we ordered mac and cheese for my son.
I had a White Peach sangria, which was good, not strong at all, needed more alcohol but I still gulped it down. It was still good.
Food is good, just typical regular food you know? Not too expensive and not too cheap, just a nice place to hang out.
Don't recommend the kids mac and cheese, definitely from a box.
Overall, I liked this location a lot better than some I have visited.
Good service, clean, no weird smells, clean bathrooms, just a regular good visit.
What is wrong with this Applebee's? Â All Applebee's that I have been to previously are good - this one was atrocious! Â The Riblet Basket with fries FAT, greasy, and FAT on those riblets I know riblets aren't the best cut of the pork but can't they trim off the fat? Â I only ate a few bites and couldn't eat because of the fatty smell coming off the riblets. Â I don't think we'll be going back - very disappointed!
Review Source:I 'll always remember my sister passing an Applebees (while famished) and stating that "I'd rather eat my own poo than eat at applebees". Or the time on a second date and pulling  riblet bones out of my mouth the whole meal. So I'm a little irritated to be here in the first place.
But 20 bucks gets u a lot. Full size appetizers and two meals. Cheese sticks were really good. The cajun shrimp pasta the better half got was really good as well. The chicken and shrimp I got was a bit weird. Grilled semi dry chicken with shrimp on top. It came sizzling in a cast iron skillet (I swear it sizzled the whole time I was eating) on top of burnt onions and mushrooms with a side of coated potato chunks.
Anyways it was ok, might try again if I can get the cajun shrimp pasta.
Normally I eat at the Reno location off Kietzke, for some reason I was in this area probably because my pharmacy is near and I went here with a good friend. Â Maybe I get special treatment at Reno location cause I know ppl that work there but I got my usual Orange chicken stir fry bowl and it just didn't have enough sauce or something. Â And I'm not one to ask for more of something like that when I know how it's prepared. Â But my expirience was lackluster at best. Â Next time I go to Kietzke and do carside to go!! Â Ha ha.
