This is a solid place to go to. We decided to try it out on a Saturday after driving around in the area. Its really easy to get in and out of. It was for an early dinner.

We ended up in the bar area where most of the tables were empty. The tvs were rather small and hard to see, so if you are going to try to watch anything I wouldn't recommend it. The veer selection is nice and gives you many different options, mostly local.

We decided to split a hand toss pizza. I would say the pizza was better than average and definitely worth the price. Everything was cooked well. The atmosphere was nice, however (and maybe this was just the crowd that day) it was a little hipstery. Not exactly my crowd, but I won't hold it against the place.

Overall as I said its a solid place to go, with a good beer selection and good food options.

I have heard from my fellow Beer Snobs (yes it is a thing - check it on http://meetup.com) about their beer throw downs. However, I was deterred from going out there by distance to get there. I finally sacked up and made the trip to Westland. I went for a Right Brain tap takeover and I was glad that I did. I knew the beer would be awesome, but getting free swag from the promoter was a definite bonus. They have a phenomenal selection of beers on tap, but their food is nothing special. They were doing some sort of lobster special - it was a decent price, but you get what you paid for. I also got some guac, which was more cream than avocado and was pre-packaged. The location by the mall is also off-putting. If you are in the area, check it out - otherwise, there is probably something with as much beer selection closer to home.

A solid 3 stars. I have never been to this Ashleys (been to the Ann Arbor one a long time ago, we changed the sign outside to say Ass Pube Happy Hour" instead of Ashley's Pub - yes I know very mature).

I have always been intrigued by Ashley's and their selection of beers. However, I have always been baffled by the location. Westland? really? Just seems like this place would be way more successful in Plymouth or even Livonia.

Anyways, Went for lunch with a new team member. The place was EMPTY. We sat outside, where they had about 10 tables and a fire pit. Although the patio is in the parking lot, it was quiet and the noise from Warren Road I did not notice. They were doing some construction in the parking lot, so I asked the server what was up. She said they are building a beer garden, so that is something I will definitely want to return for!

Food was OK. I got my typical... Cobb Salad. It was not served with bleu cheese. Bummer. Made with iceberg lettuce. Chicken had great flavor but in general it was meh. Avocado ranch dressing was recommended, but not great. I preferred the vinegarette.

Coworker got a club sandwich which looked like the bread was delicious and buttery. Came with potato chips, which were under salted for my taste.

Service was fine - I would have been mad if it wasn't since the place was so empty!

I will be interested in returning when the beer garden opens!

Selection of beer cannot be beat...
The cheese tray is a total joke for 8.99, Stay away...
Burgers are good - no complaints.
Creme brulee was poor --- very runny.
Our waitress was very nice and attentive.
Beer prices are overpriced.
Won't visit again.

I have been to Ashley's several times in the past and went today with my wife to meet up with my Mother and Father for Mother's Day. We went around 4:15 to get a jump on the holiday dinner rush.

Our server seemed to be coming to the end of a long shift. On a number of occasions during our service, she mentioned that she was tired and seemed to be in a rush...exhibiting very little patience.

At the beginning, we were given the draft list filled with over 20 craft beers. Most of the beers were listed by name only. I consider myself somewhat of a knowledgeable beer guy, but I was only able to recognize some of the names but not remember what type of beer it was. Some were marked as "IPA" or "Porters", but others that were listed forced you to guess the type. Our waitress didn't seem too motivated to help us through the list. My dad asked for a Fat Tire and she told him they did not have it on draft, only in a bottle. She did not suggest any other beer on the menu that might be similar. He asked for Labatt Blue and she made a snide comment to the effect that Ashley's isn't that type of bar and will never serve that type of beer. When Dad asked why Bud Light was listed, she mentioned that was the only exception. She eventually offered him a couple of samples to try, but it was already taking a long time. Our beers eventually made it to the table.

We ordered dinner and it came when we were about halfway done with our drinks. My dad and I ordered the Rattlesnake Pasta...listed as a pasta served with sautéed chicken in a spicy Alfredo sauce, topped with jalapeños and cheddar cheese. The meal came, but there was no chicken included on my dad's and my order. It took several minutes for our waitress to come back. When I asked her if chicken was supposed to be included, she said "Yes There are little bits of chicken mixed in". We told her that we did not have chicken in our orders. She apologized and rushed off. A few minutes later, a gentleman (assuming it was the manager...he didn't introduce himself)came to our table and apologized and asked if he could get us another order. We told him that he didn't have to do that, but my dad suggested that he get us a round of drinks for the trouble. He stated" You got it"...but our drinks never came. We mentioned it to the waitress and she told us that she wasn't told that the manager agreed to get us a round. She didn't even ask us if we wanted another round Our bill came and we were charged for all of our meals. I paid and tipped and we left.

I get emails weekly from Ashley's promoting beer face offs and I have been intrigued to go. I am going to wait a while before I go back. They need to go back to the basics to train/hire competent, attentive and energetic servers and managers and cooks/chefs that know what is included on "Signature Dishes" . They have settled into a lazy spell and need to regroup. I hope that they do for the sake of their customers.

The Westland location is convenient and easy to get in to and out of.
The wait staff is personable and upbeat.

I went for the Maurice salad. The presentation was nice but if you are a die-hard Maurice salad fan, I would suggest you go back to the original at Macy's. 12-Oaks far exceeds the Westland Macy's.

The Maurice salad was good but there was a spicy mustard that detracted from the authentic version and not enough sweet pickle. I suppose if you have enough wine or beer, you might not notice the difference. I was expecting near perfection, but otherwise a decent salad.

I will go back and try the pizza next time. 3.5 stars overall.

Ashley's is pretty alright. I've been several times for trivia, and once or twice just for food/beers. The beer selection is AWESOME, one of the best in the state. Unfortunately, the servers tend to be not nearly as knowledgeable about beer as they should be to work in such a beer-centric establishment. Service in general is hit or miss--i've had exemplary service, and i've had terrible service. Food is regular bar food, but you can sub a veggie burger for any of their burgers, which is always nice. Don't even bother with the dessert, though. It all just tastes recently-thawed, dry, and bland (and runny, in the case of the creme brulee). Crowd tends toward bros and the dad-of bro (and overly tanned stepmom-of-bro), and that's fine, except when you're trying to hear the trivia MC and there's some jackass behind you yelling out quotes from Old School. Pleasant decor, ample seating, clean bathrooms.

For the most part, I love Ashley's! Great pizza, great beer selection (though I'm not a beer drinker) and various martinis and specialty mixed drinks, and other oh so yummy items. The atmosphere is cozy. They have Great Lakes Trivia on Tues/Sat nights, so it does get packed then, but it's a lot of fun to participate in.

Service - for the most part it's stellar. As of late, a few of the newer servers have been not so great. The vast majority of the staff are amazing and have great recommendations for drinks and food, but a couple just plain old disappear forever while you're sitting there with empty glasses or waiting for your bill (yesterday, we sat for about 15 min with empty glasses AND waiting for the bill). That's only happened to us a couple times, and we are very much regulars :)

Hi, this isn't actually a review. I put 4 stars just to avoid bringing the rating down since I had to rate in order to write.

I was craving pizza from Uno's and called them up to check on hours since I'd be driving all the way from A2 and found that it was an Ashley's now and after seeing these reviews I see it's been years since it was Uno's, but I asked on the phone if they still made the Uno style pizza and she said yes. But I also asked how long in advance I needed to order a pizza for pick up and she said 10 or 15 minutes. That's not likely for an Uno style pizza so I ask you dear Yelpers to review the pizza here, is it really anything like Uno's, what's it like if not and how good is it?

Thanks!

Never had a bad experience there always had great service and great food! Love the Pizza we had last night (Called The Motor City)! I bring people here from out of town and they always love it and want to come back! It's got some really hot looking waitresses in my book! And the atmosphere always seems chummy and warm!

Only thing they need to work on there is their Coffee it always seems really bad even with a fresh pot but it's not the place you would think to get coffee as I keep telling the company I go there with! ;)

Used to be one of the best places around town to eat. Don't get me wrong, the food is good and the beer selection is great, BUT the service has gotten bad (have waited any where from 1-2 hours after being seated to get any service at all) and even worse, the portions of food have gotten tinier and tinier while the prices stay the same ($5 for less than a cup of soup, ridiculous!). It's paying way too much to wait forever for food and to leave hungry.

I hope things start getting better soon! I miss going there regularly! Especially since my beer passport hasn't had an update in a while.

Tenth and Blake Elite Beer Dinner: Summer Edition!

Never went to a Beer Tasting event before, but I will tell you this one was so wonderful. Met some great YELPERS! Upon entering as me and my wonderful sister sat down we were given a Miller Lite - never had one before and I really liked it. This was just to get our beer taste buds going, I guess!

The first course was some Butternut Squash soup paired with a Pilsner. Oh my goodness, the soup was so delectable, and then tasting the beer with it - my mouth was dancing like I was in Dirty Dancing! Our host informed us of the history of the Pilsner Urquell, to get everyone's attention he would clink his glass like he was making music and then all of a sudden the room quieted down so he had the floor. Very eloquent - cheers!

The second course was a salad with crispy chicken strips, dried cherries, bacon, cheddar tossed with a honey mustard dress. How can anyone go wrong with this type of salad. Ohhhh - very delicious. This was paired with Blue Moon Belgian White - yum, the only thing I was missing was the orange. This beer is fairly newer and a bit cloudy, but yummy! Prost!

Third course was orange buffalo wings paired with Killian's Irish Red. I think that this pairing was the best of all!!!! It was like fireworks going off in your mouth!!! this particular beer was a family recipe of the Killian family brought over from Ireland. I enjoyed this pairing very very much.

The fourth course was a piece of the supreme pizza paired with Batch 19. Didn't particularly care for this beer - I thought it was more intended for truck drivers, rather than a lady! (If I can call myself that!) This beer was a bit harsh for my tasting, but the pizza was delicious!

Final course was a Creme Brulee - yummy, which was paired with a Big Edy Imperial IPA. Unfortunately by this time I don't remember very much about this beer!!!! But I'm sure it was tasty. Luckily my sister was the designated driver so I could partake in all the beer tasting. Thank you Annette, Ashley's, and Tenth and Blake for putting this event together. Had another great Elite Yelp event!

Thanks Annette for another great Yelp event at Ashley's Restaurant & Pub. Debbie Z. is my "elite" sister and I was her guest and we had a great time. I was the designated driver, so I just had a taste or two of each brew sampled at the event. Ashley's Restaurant did a fantastic job of pairing the beers with the food. Our servers did a wonderful job with our 100% attendance group. We not only tasted the various beers, but we learned the history of each product. It was very interesting and a whole lot of fun. We all started with a Miller Light to get our palates ready. Sitting at the head of our table was Joshua, an elite, who brought a guest who was a beer expert who brews his own beer. Note: Joshua drove all the way from Grand Rapids for this event.

First Course was Butternut Squash Bisque paired woth Pilsner Urquell. Our beer expert stated that the Pilsner Urquell was "the best he had ever tasted."

Second Course was a crispy Chicken Salad paired with Blue Moon Belgian White. The Blue Moon was unfiltered and cloudy. This beer was first brewed in 1995 at the Sandlot brewery in Denver, Colorado. This is the first brewery ever built in a baseball staduim. There were a lot of "oohs" and "aahs" in the room when this product was tasted. According to the information supplied to us at the event, Blue Moon is a "great brunch beer."

The Third Course was the best pairing of the night as far as I'm concerned. The entree was Zesty Orange Buffalo Wings and I can't envision any beer tasting better than Killian's Irish Red with the buffalo wings. It made me wish that Debbie was the designated driver instead of me. This was my favorite.

The Fourth Course was probably one of the best pieces of pizza I have ever tasted. Ashley's Supreme Pizza is their most popular pizza with sausage, pepperoni, grilled onions and green peppers, mushrooms, and their homemade tomato sauce topped with mozzarella and grated Romano. Fantastic pizza! Is there any beer that does not taste good with pizza? I don't think so. But, tonight the pizza was paired with Batch 10 Pre-Prohibition Style Lager which was inspired by an authentic pre-Prohibition recipe.

The Fifth Course - dessert - was Creme Brulee with grilled pineapple paired with Leinekugel's Big Eddy Imperial IPA which is brewed in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. We drank this from a "special" glass that almost resembled a wine glass.

At the end of the event we all received a bag with a set of four beer glasses and a book about beers. One thing in common about all of us Yelp members is that we enjoy life and we live each day to its fullest. Thanks again, Annette for setting up such great events.

A beer lovers paradise.

Ah, the multi-tap or "taphouse" drinking establishments are in such short supply. I was very pleased to discover this one during my travels to the greater Motor City area.

There truly was a very large variety of domestic micro-brews and hard to come by European imported brews. The food menu was very well matched to the variety and quality of the beer selection. Offerings included gourmet pubfare snacks (nachos, wings, fries, etc), burgers and sandwiches, pub pizzas, and more. Overall, I found the quality of these food items to be far superior to the typical fare found in any ol' average pub.

Despite the restaurant being busy (even on a Wednesday night, when we were there), the service was prompt, friendly and on point. Beer from the bar arrived quickly to our table, as did the food items from the kitchen. The overall ambiance of this place was what you would expect for a multi-tap: loud, busy, and bustling.

I definitely would recommend this place for friendly gatherings with buddies, coworkers, or others needing to unwind a bit. I wouldn't advise bringing children in during the evening. So, come on by Ashley's with a few of your buddies, talk about whatever, and partake of the quality pubfare and brews this place has to offer... no doubt you'll be back!

We truly enjoyed Ashley's. The food was pretty tasty, and Ashley, our waitress, (the name is just coincidental) was outstanding. She was intuitive, and really genuine. Their burgers are quite good. I chose to build my own. Cool option in my opinion. The place has a nice atmosphere. Not gimmicky like Applebees, or any of the like. Great beer selection as well.

Visited this place with about 30 co-workers. The waitress messes up a lot of orders and was simply unapologetic about it. She brought one coworkers her meal in a carry out box, and when she was informed that the order was not to go. She replied "well that's how they made some of the orders." Orders were missing and what made it worse was our boss had paid, tipped and left once everyone placed their orders. I just didn't enjoy this place. The bartender made good patron margaritas, the only perk.

Love, love, love the beer selection.
The food however, is straight up deep fried, creamy and heavy!

Ashley's, your service, atmosphere and beer is awesome. Why can't you offer healthier menu items? Must the majority of your offerings be covered in butter or deep fried? I know I'm supposed to come here for the beer, but if you want more bu$ine$$, please consider offering fresher and heart happy choices.

PUH-LEASE?

Also, thank you for allowing us to be able to download music on your jukebox! I love that the music can go from Bieber to Slayer then to Fountains of Wayne. It's like i'm dating a DJ with multiple personality disorder when I'm here. ***This is meant totally in a good way.

Thank you also for having patio seating. Summer time at Ashley's on the patio with friends = lots of beer consumed + good times.

I will limit my review to the beer, because I like so much what they are trying to do. I will only comment on the food after I have given it a thorough chance. The tap beer selection is excellent, and the bar staff knows its beer.

As for cocktails, they have the usual crappy commercial artificial mixers.

On the food side, I'm not convinced that they are much more than another outlet for pre-made Cisco and GFS items selected by management out of a catalog. I'll update if I learn better.

It always bothers me when the local, independent guy wants my business, but he serves nothing but GloboCorp food products.

The bar has tons of TVs, which can be very annoying when they are trying to get a return on that pay-per-view cage kickboxing with the barefoot guys that has become popular, apparently, with the lower rungs of society.

we moved to the wayne westland area about 2 years ago and gave this Ashley's a shot at the time. The beer selection was poor compared to the Ann Arbor location, and the food was terrible, many of my favorites from Ann Arbor just weren't availible. Until last weekend we hadn't gone back for these reasons.

A friend of ours was visiting and wanted to give it a shot. They've gotten much better with the beer selection, they have more rotating taps with interesting beers. On top of that they've completely redone the menu, and I also imagine have some new cooks.

Everyone I was with thought their food was amazing, I had a monte cristo and it was delicious. The atmosphere and layout are still kinda weird, but it didn't really take anything away from our dinner.

I went back a on a Friday night with some friends about a month ago. First time visiting since they added the second bar and I have to say the selection is about as impressive as the Ann Arbor location, which is saying a lot. Service was probably the best I gotten. Had quite a few between two people and my bill was only about $35 including tip. Definitely the most pleasant experience I've had here. It's going to be hard choosing between Ashley's and Liberty Street when I'm in the area now.

Skipped the food but I always keep saying I'm going to order the Stilton Fries next time I'm in.

I have only eaten here a couple times, and it's been perfectly acceptable both times. The burgers are decent, the desserts are really good... So far my favorite thing here: waffle fries with melted bleu cheese. Simple and anybody could do it, sure, but THEY did it. And it was GOOD.

The food is quite a bit different compared to Ashley's in Ann Arbor (in a good way), but Westland-Ashley's focus on providing an exceptional beer selection stays true to the original. That's really the reason to come here.

There is absolutely no shortage of great choices to please some of the bigger beer snobs, and they have some interesting alternatives for people who tend to drink domestic lights. Not that I'd recommend you do that here.

Prices are a little high (starting around $4 for a pint and going way up from there), but you're buying a pretty amazing selection...

Think of it this way: it's like a global pub crawl, and it'll only cost you $50.

I actually enjoyed myself -- met up with a couple of friends and I had an AWESOME time.

SUNDAY's -- $3.00 Long-island Ice tea (Strong too!)

The food was good and if you are a beer fan, then this would a great place to have a variety of selection of beers. Someone actually order this drink beer which was served in this extra tall mug -- it's was a challenge but before we left the person down it.

Prices are reasonable and staff is friendly!!!

Ashley's is a pub. I always like to establish genre prior to a review, as that makes a world of difference to me. So, think pub fare: burgers, nachos, pizzas, and so forth.

Now think BEER: lots and lots and lots of great beer! I know a previous reviewer was bummed that the Belgian fest interfered with ordering a fave; but that's precisely why I need to compliment Ashley's: they try to offer a different beer experience.

Finding craft beer can be a challenge in Westland (the location is within the mall's lot, bringing back a flood of childhood memories of Hudson's and a statue of a goose on which I'd play, long before there were play pens at malls). With 60 beers on tap, you can find all sorts of variety unavailable elsewhere. I know Westland is pretty working class, but that's what I love about it, and working class doesn't need to mean tasteless.

Myself, I'm not the biggest fan of Belgians, though I must applaud the whole concept, from bringing in a European family brewer for a meal, to the Belgian food they added to the menu to complete the experience. (Only advice: for the next theme-week, do away with the confusing ticket system.)

3.5 The beer made me put the half star on there.
I usually don't enjoy going out to eat in this area. Not a lot to choose from, from my point of view but this was a great find!
Ashely's first store was in Ann Arbor and they are bringing some of that to Westland. How cool is that?!

An amazing amount of beer! I honestly dreaded coming here. I thought a another pub.. yuck! Thoughts of dim lights and greasy food resided in my mind...

First off the waitress blew us AWAY with how much knowledge she had about the bazillion beers they had there!
She was so efficient I had to remind myself where we were. heh.

OK so they have pub fare, nachos, burgers etc.. but then a Caprese sandwich? Waht?! OK so not all of it is pub fare and I was happy with my salad.

There was team (your table is the team) trivia that night. What is really great is that it is not electronic so you don't anonymously sit at some table and ninja in your answers. Each table is a team, no phone googling allowed as they say, and you write the answer out and someone has to go hand it in. At first everyone at the table groaned at the thought of a cheesy trivia game but everyone's competitive nature got the best of them and we all started talking out the possible answers. We didn't win but we had fun.

I even had a beer, of which I hardly ever do but who can say no to Hacker Pschorr Weisse on tap?! I was tempted to have some Chimay Ale but I feared my husband couldn't take the fact that I actual drank one beer and enjoyed it. hehe.
Easily the best restaurant in that immediate area.
A very pleasant surprise.

The bartender did a great job making drinks, not too weak or too strong, just right. I recommend trying the margaritas, on monday nights they are the "drink special" and only $3 worth very penny.

Didn't have any food but the people around us seemed to enjoy their entrees and appetizers.

Plenty of parking, Very hospitable staff, nice open set up and plenty of seating. Definitely somewhere to go to again!

We're digging Ashley's lately. I think of it as the red-headed stepcousin of 'too big for her britches' Aubree's (Haggerty, just south of 8 Mile). Regular coupons in the mail circular help us remember that hey, Ashley's has that beer cheese dip!

So, now you know what we have to get when we go. You can get this warm cheese dip two ways, either with tortilla chips or with waffle fries. We prefer the fries, but it makes for a pretty lead belly app if you plan to eat real food too.

We usually try the beer flights, which regularly rotate to include different local, US and international beers, and we're also usually disappointed because they contain too many beers that have hints of fruit, chocolate or coffee. These end up being 'my' beers to drink - joy.

As for food, we've tried the Pulled Pork Sliders (the menu says 'try with out NC pickin' sauce, which I asked for, only to receive regular old Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce. When I said something our waitress said 'oh we haven't had that sauce for at least a year'. Uhm, nice to tell me after... I... ordered... it... from you!), The Buffalo Chicken Wrap (ok), and the pizza (also ok).

Can't even review the food here, because I didn't have any.

Was in the area and asked my cousins to take me to a place that had a good quality beer variety. It's sorta my thing. They didn't disappoint with this place.

Pair of bar areas, lots of on tap variety, and an impressive bottled variety available. Serving some of the highest rated US IPA's on tap at the same spot was a nice find for myself. You Michigan residents don't know how lucky you are to have Bell and Founder drinks aplenty around here.

Bartenders were very knowledgeable and were extremely friendly on the whole. The entire vibe of this place was a little slow (admittedly it was a Sunday late night) but still upbeat and friendly. Variety of patrons made the place welcoming, and no real bad elements involved.

As said at the start, didn't eat any food, just had beer. Given from what I gleaned from the staff and from other reviews here I'd wager the highlight is the beer and the food is a good side-note, at best. It's called the pub/restaurant, but really I'd call it an over sized pub with a good food selection (as a compliment).

Prices were decent as well, after 6 beers and a few tasters I'd still only racked up a $25 tab. For what I was getting I call that a good price, hell the casinos charged that much for as many Miller Lights.

Really, if you want a great drink in the area this is your stop. If you want a top-notch meal and just a glass to water it down, might want to head elsewhere. Since I'm part of the former group this place hit the spot for me.

Needless to say that whenever I'm up here visiting family, I'll make this a stop-off.

I went here about a month or 2 ago and have been upset I haven't been about to get back. Loads and loads of microbrews, which is the biggest reason to come here. I got the 6 beer sampler and had beer ranging from a barleywine to a chips and salsa flavored beer. The waitress was very helpful in choosing different beers in regards to personal preferences, although she was a bit lippy when we first arrived and my friend asked for a rolling rock. The seating was ample here and service was pretty prompt. I got a cheesesteak or something along those lines and it was definitely a good choice. Fries here are delicious. It's a wee bit pricey but worth a trip if you're in westland.

A secret tip that I'm wary of giving out: go here for UFC ppvs instead of bdubbs, there's not much of a wait and the TV sets are ample.

A farce. While the beer list was lengthy and varied, the food was terrible, the staff clueless, and the decor odd. While the beer list was extensive, the server couldn't tell us anything about any of them, not even the specials. They are the specials! Our server didn't seem new or busy or anything else that might excuse her cluelessness or slowness. She just took forever and didn't know anything.

Despite the long list of beers, both local and international, they didn't have a single hard cider. No Strongbow, no Woodchuck, nothing. Ridiculous. The food was, as mentioned, terrible. My wife's salad was supposed to have a porter vinaigrette, which you'd assume was a porter reduced to a syrup and made into a nice vinaigrette. Instead it was like someone threw a half-cup of porter from the tap onto her salad. Weird and gross. My philly cheesesteak was decent but not good. I will say that the onion rings were pretty tasty, though.

I had a couple bottled beers, they were fine, though I would have had more if the service had been on its toes. With such an extensive menu, it'd have been nice to try a couple more things. But they let me sit with an empty glass, twice, for far too long. I guess they hate money or ran out of decent servers.

The decor, which doesn't matter a ton to me in either a bar or restaurant, is still worth mentioning, I guess. This place is an odd jumble of sports bar, brewpub, and one of those chain restaurants with crap on the wall. It wasn't particularly welcoming but if the food and service had been good, it wouldn't have turned me off the place either.

Still, there must be somewhere better nearby.

They had decent, if slightly over-topped, pizza.
They had a modest but good wine-by-the-glass selection.
They DID have beer. Lots of good beer to choose from. That was really the highlight.

If you are at all into beer, Ashley's is the place for you. They have varieties from around the globe and something like 60 on tap. This is not a big deal for me but I know there are some serious beer fans out there so I will highlight it at any rate.

Ashley's is a very nice looking place. A former Uno Chicago Grill, they have replaced all things Chicago with Detroit/Ann Arbor/Beer theme. The restaurant is big yet cozy. The staff is hit or miss, we had a great waitress on one visit but the waiter we had on the other was horrible.

The food is good, some better than others. The French Onion soup is incredible and you can get it with no upcharge with an entree. The Bay Chowder is quite good too. The Chicken Noodle just eh. The side salads are boring but are all you can eat, if that is your thing. The entrees also come with all you can eat breadsticks, which are light and puffy with a bit of buttery crunch. If you cannot decide between soup and salad then get both for a mere dollar more yay!

The burgers in here are good, not great. The Monster Burger comes with two kinds of cheese, bacon, sauteed peppers, onions and mushrooms. I liked the bun but the burger itself was missing something in my opinion, I think perhaps it was the fact the patty was a preformed half pounder. All burgers and sandwiches come with all you can eat fries which are coated in a light batter and quite delicious.

The pizzas are awesome. The Motor City Classic is an all meat affair with chunks of meat and tomatoes wrapped in a ton of cheese. The deep dish variety is definitely the way to go. The BBQ Chicken had a tangy sauce and really tasty chicken, I really liked it a lot. You can create your own combo from a variety of toppings and be quite happy as the crust is just freaking good.

The Fish and Chips are coated in a Sam Adams batter and are meaty with a light crispness to them. Absolutely delicious! I had a Bronzed Tilapia that was nice, as is the Grilled BBQ Salmon. The Rattlesnake Pasta was misleading as it was none too spicy but still tasty. All were more than generous helpings.

This is a good middle of the road place. I would stick with the Fish and Chips, soups and Pizzas though. They were the definite stars of the show.

After discovering that the former Pizza Uno became Ashley's of Westland, it has fast become one of our favorites. The patio is a perfect place to spend a summer evening with friends, and there's no shortage of tasty beers to try. The food is also excellent and the menu includes a nice variety including vegetarian items as well as traditional bar food.

I hosted a get-together here for about 13 people on Wednesday July 8. I just have to give Ashley's MAJOR props and thanks for being so helpful and nice as soon as I walked in the door. I got there early because I wasn't sure exactly how many girls were coming (only an estimate) and the hostess had someone get our table ready.

We had called ahead of time to ask about separate billing and Ashley's had NO problem with this. They actually split up each girl's bill so none of us had to deal with figuring out what each person owed. I know this is a pain for restaurants but they did it WITH A SMILE and acted as though it were absolutely no problem at all. Having been a server myself, I know large parties and separate checks were kind of/sort of a pain BUT not THAT traumatic. So, I appreciate that they were so cool about it.

Food was OK. I am not a big beer drinker (I drink *light* beers and don't get too fancy) but some of the girls were. So, I can't really rate the beer selection when I don't know what I am looking at.

Mainly it was the service that impressed me here. I think it's really sort of sad these days that people are so appreciative and relieved to get really good service. Bad service is ALL too common any more.

Thanks Ashley's!!! We will be back if you promise the same good service and are always so happy to see your customers!! :-)

I usually don't venture out to these areas but the wife and I were couch shopping and got hungry. Since it was new (to us at least) we decided to give it a try.
Was excited to see their beer menu, but since it was only high noon and didn't want to shop while I am buzz.... lol very dangerous. They are about to revamp the beer menu, so please check back since their selection seems pretty extensive.
As you walk in, you do feel a scene of a bar/chain restaurant style setting. At least I was very suspicious of how low of a traffic of customer it was, since it was lunch time on a weekend.
But regardless we went ahead and order. The food came prep very good and the waiters were very friendly and fast on the orders. Tasted alot better then I expected.

In conclusion, it is a very pleasant place to have a group of people to eat and enjoy each others company.

We've been here a couple times. We were first amused to notice that the decor has not changed from the last restaurant that was here (was it Pizzeria Uno?). There's nothing wrong with it, it was just funny to walk in and potentially not be sure where you might be!

The food is good, and the service is acceptable. One of my favorite points was that they quickly brought extra napkins and water for the baby. I'm sure we'll be back, even with no mention of the beer menu. Oddly enough, I don't like beer much, but I'm pretty inclined to like restaurants with lots of it available. Huh.
