First of all, I have to preface this review is based on my experience with take-out and in comparison to the VA Highlands location. I probably will not be back to this location if I am ever craving the fried chicken again, although the greeter and the bartender seemed to be very nice. However, I'm a Decatur girl but I work in Smyrna. So tonight, I figured I'd pick up some dinner from the Smyrna location since it's right by my job. I ordered the  Texas chicken sandwich and asked for an extra blue cheese (which I didn't receive) and for the the lettuce and tomato to be on the side (It wasn't). That is honestly why I gave this location 2-stars because my order wasn't quite right and by the time I got home and discovered this...the bread was soggy since the lettuce and tomato weren't on the side. Luckily, I had some buns at home that I could toast for my hubby's dinner.

My next issues are really my own fault so I can't blame the restaurant for my assumption. As I mentioned previously I frequent the VA Highlands location so I assumed that the menus were the same. They are not. This location gives you sweet potato tots (processed) instead of actual fresh cut, baked sweet potato wedges. The fried chicken is only the boneless breast that you get with the Texas chicken sandwich and it's served with mashed potatoes and collards. At VA HIghlands you get a chicken breast with the wing attached, macaroni and cheese and green beans. Another thing that bugged me: the Styrofoam boxes used in Smyrna while they use eco-friendly, biodegradable paper boxes in VA Highlands. I did not deduct any "Points" from the score based on the menus being different.

There is a chance that I will come back to this location if I am in the area at a time other than when I'm working and try something else on the menu but certainly not any of my VAH favorites! Base on THIS EXPERIENCE ALONE...I HAVE TO GIVE IT 2 STARS. Hopefully I will be back and I'll get a 4-star experience!

Came here for dinner last night. It was an average meal all around. The menu is pretty standard tavern food minus the New Orleans section. I was going to get a po boy but the waitress sort of advised me against it so I got a reuben. It was an average reuben, maybe a little less than because it was extra greasy. The fries were good though!

My boyfriend got the Debris sandwich which was pretty good and super hearty. The pot roast in it wasn't the most flavorful but it was tender.

We also got the smoked trout dip for an appetizer. It was tasty and the pita was nice and warm but it was missing something...

The outdoor seating was nice and it was a good atmosphere. Service was fine although like some other people mentioned we did wait at the hostess stand for a minute.

It's an off-the-menu item, but the bacon cheeseburger quesadilla is the best bar snack you've ever had.  It's exactly as advertised---bacon, hamburger meat and cheese in a soft tortilla with a cheese dipping sauce.  It's such a secret that some of the newer server's don't know about it.  The last time we were there our server said he never heard of it;  we insisted he check with the kitchen and sure enough it was on the table in about 10 minutes.  The server said it sounded and looked so delicious he asked the line cook to make one up for him and some of the other servers.  He agreed it was great.

We've dined here before but since moving away from Smyrna, it's been at least five years. We were back in Smyrna to hike Heritage Park and opted to take the boys to Atkins Park for an early dinner.

Right off there was a bad sign when we waited about 3 - 5 minutes at the host stand waiting for someone to seat us.

Once we got a table, as far as I could tell there was one poor waiter working at the time. He did his best, but right from the start, we were told entrees were not available but burgers and sandwiches were since they were transitioning from brunch to dinner.

My wife enjoyed the beer menu, which was varied and to her tastes. My older son and I ordered burgers. The wife ordered a turkey sandwich, and my younger son got chicken fingers. We started off with a monster pretzel appetizer, which was QUITE good.

The burgers were ho-hum. I've definitely had MUCH better at Moxie Burger, Five Guys or just about any place else now that I think about it. The wife enjoyed her turkey sandwich. My older son said his burger was too burned and didn't finish most of it. Younger son picked at his chicken fingers, but I couldn't tell if it was them or his appetite.

Service was slow overall, and I felt for the waiter having to cover so many tables. But we did get a nice seat on the patio overlooking the Smryna Village Green. However, due to the lack of service and the poor food, I think we'll skip Atkins Park next time we're in Smyrna. Plus, the bill for the meal was over $60! Seems a lot for burgers and sandwiches...especially when 1/2 of the meal was sub-par.

To every person that is of legal drinking age this review is for you.  If you are a social person such as myself, you have one bar that you love.  It doesnt matter if your world is falling apart or if you are celebrating a promotion.  Its your bar its your place of comfort, your bartender(s) are like family and you can ask them almost anything.  Atkins Park is One of those places for me.  You talk about cool people (check) You talk about great drinks (check).  You talk about a friendly atmosphere (check).  It has it all and between John and Asa you cant go wrong!! Frankly any place that has Giant Jenga is cool with me!! Check em out! Tell em Erik says hello!!

Oh yeah only 4 stars because they got rid of arguably the best desert I have ever tasted in my LIFE  off the late night menu. Chocolate Peanut Butter Bread pudding, it was specifically designed by scientist to make your day better.  Atkins Park definitely a place worth visiting.

My husband & I enjoyed our experience at the Atkins Park Tavern. We will definitely go back! I tried the Crap, Spinach & Artichoke dip which was the best I've ever had! The pita chips were amazing! My husband tried the Cowboy Burger & he enjoyed his meal as well. They have a full bar, however, they were out of a lot of drafts. Good thing I don't drink beer! (I learned this info from the table next to use!) They were also out of salmon (someone else mentioned this so this must be an continued issue.)

For the things they were lacking, they made up for in service! Our waitress was very attentive & seemed to enjoy her job. Whether that was true or not, she did not make apparent. Also the things they didn't have in the kitchen or the bar, weren't things we ordered so we were very satisfied with our meals!!

We sat on the cover patio which was nice but it was windy & the coverings weren't secure. They made a lot of noise as they hit the metal fence surrounding the patio. I also didn't like that they turned the heaters on in the patio area. I didn't feel it was cool enough for it (70 degrees today) and I had to switch my seat to move away from the heater,

Overall it was a casual, laid back environment with good food and would recommend it to friends.

Love this place! We go a few times a month and also to all of their great events. The food is the best and reasonably priced. I highly recommend the B.L.T.P on P. the last couple times we have had the pleasure of having Paul as our waitor and he's fantastic. I recommend this place to everyone I meet.

The idea of this tavern is good, but the follow through is lacking. Since the food is just average, the staff and environment needs to step up the performance. The service team could use some training and better management of timing. The restrooms are not clean every time I go and that's always a sign of an unhealthy environment. I wouldn't go here unless I was invited by a group that I felt I had to join.

Not too familiar with the Smyrna area so i don't have anything to compare this bar to, but it was a pretty chill atmosphere.  Went in with some friends so we were able to keep ourselves amused.  There was a live band playing so, I don't know if that was a thursday night thing but it did add to the vibe.  They have great finger foods and their atkins lager is only 3.75 for a 20oz.

The missus and I stopped into Atkins Park Tavern for drinks/appetizers one night and randomly walked into a buddy sitting to play at their trivia night; made for unexpected good company!

Apparently, he's a regular... so we got friendly and overly-attentive service, complete with some good food recommendations we appreciated.

Nothing about the place gave us that whole so-phenomenal-we-just-have-to-be-back feeling... but it was definitely a nice little neighborhood spot for some good, cheap bar grub, a pint of Guinness, and friendly service (the trivia folks were a fun crowd, too).

If you're in the area and just looking for a quick stop for a small bite and drink... I'd recommend the place; just keep your expectations right at "neighborhood pub with bar food," and you'll be satisfied!

This place has a large bar, outdoor patio that was insulated and heated for the winter, and inside dining area. The menu is sophisticated beyond standard bar food, for example white bean jalapeno hummus, duck were on the menu. Overall, the offerings seem pretty heavy, and there are a couple of cajun and southern favorites.

The white bean jalapeno hummus had an incredibly smooth texture and slightly spicy, tangy flavor from the jalapenos. It seemed lighter than your standard chickpea hummus and was served with crisp triangles of pita and a couple veggies.

My wife ordered the special, which was a blackened salmon BLT, but the kitchen ran out of salmon so she changed it over to a fried shrimp po boy. This was a monstrosity of a sandwich with fried small shrimp, lettuce, tomato, and what tasted like mayo mixed with cajun seasoning. The flavor of the sandwich was pretty good but trying the shrimp alone, I felt the breading on the shrimp was very heavy and thick, yet not really seasoned. And indeed there was no way around trying the shrimp alone, since the sandwich was so loaded down with fried shrimp there would be no way to pick it up and eat it. Though I did not taste the accompanying potato fries, she reported they were soggy.

I ordered a "debris" sandwich, which came with pot roast, ham, lettuce, tomato, and mayo on a toasted sub roll. The pot roast was extremely salty and had the texture of Lloyd's BBQ from the tub. Needless to say the salty ham only made matters worse. I had to take the ham off just to make the sandwich edible. The side I received, potato salad, actually could have used some of the salt from the pot roast; it was pretty bland.

On a better note, I was very pleased to see Lagunitas IPA on the draft beer menu (and at $6 for 20oz glass, a solid deal) and the service was excellent despite having to change our order due to the kitchen running out of salmon.

Overall though, aside from the white bean hummus, the food was very heavy with a lot of over/under salting problems, but mostly too salty. Neither sandwich we ordered really worked as a sandwich. I'd be back for beers and the hummus appetizer, but head somewhere else for my main meal.

My wife and I stopped by Atkins Park Tavern for lunch today.  It was quite busy, but we only waited 15 minutes to be seated outside.  The restaurant seemed really nice and clean, and the patio was covered and equipped with numerous ceiling fans.  The clientele seemed a bit snobbish.  I can certainly imagine frat guys being drawn to this place.

As far as the food goes, both my wife and I decided to order burgers.  My wife ordered the Bruno Burger (medium), and I ordered the Chef's Burger (medium rare) as recommended by our server.  For sides, my wife opted for the hand cut fries ... while I chose the red potato salad.

The Bruno was cooked well done instead of medium and was the driest burger I have had in a while.  The flavor was great, but the lack of moisture made us forget about the taste.  The hand-cut fries couldn't make up their mind whether they wanted to be crispy or soggy.  They reminded me of The Varsity fries fried at a higher temperature.

The Chef's burger was cooked to medium instead of medium rare.  Although there was still a little pink in the middle, it was almost as dry as the Bruno.  The avocado used on the burger tasted old but not rotten.  The bacon was thin and soggy.  The potato salad was OK -- nothing spectacular.

Overall, I was not as impressed as the majority of my fellow Yelpers.  Atkins Park Tavern boasts their use of grass-fed beef, but it is a travesty what they do to it when you order a burger.  As my wife and I ate these dry burgers, I imagined the inexperienced cook carelessly mashing the patties w/ his/her spatula and letting out all the juices instead of leaving them be on the grill or skillet.  If you insist on getting a burger here, I highly recommend ordering it at a temperature below what you are expecting.  Also ... bring a syringe full of au jus to inject into those burgers.

On a more serious note, I plan on giving them a second chance and stop by for dinner one night.  Hopefully ... I will be able to update my review of Atkins Park Tavern and add some positive notes.

I had the privilege of dining at Atkins during a recent visit to Atlanta.

The smyrna area is gorgeous first of all. The area where Atkins is located reminds me of a anywhere USA. Its got a quaint, small town feel to it that's borderline upscale without being pretentious.

The restaurant itself is very nice & the staff was friendly, attentive & professional. We ordered off the brunch menu & I had the French toast w/a side of bacon. I love French toast so I can't really say it was the best I've ever had but it was decent. I loved the hash browns though & the eggs & bacon were OK too. I didn't care for the sausage links (too rubbery) but others I dined with liked them.

If you're in Smyrna definitely give Atkins a try... I passed on the biscuits & cheesey grits but I was told that's what they are known for. Being a Northerner, they appeared a bit too "southern" for me but my friends thought they were delicious.

I discovered this place when we were looking for a reasonably priced venue with quality food for a holiday party last year. Our first visit was to the Smyrna Market Village, where we were already familiar with the great tastes of the Village Cafe. Having just been there for a previous work event, we checked out Atkins Park and asked about how they would handle events.

We received a sampling of some menu items and some cold beers. It was absolutely top notch. The holiday party was handled perfectly.

It has since turned into an after-work beer-drinking venue and a popular lunch hangout too.

It's not too loud when you are out on the patio or in the formal restaurant side of the place. They have heaters on the patios so it's still very comfortable in winter.

They give you a free shot of jager on Friday afternoons as a show of customer appreciation.

The food is always top notch quality and the beer selection is huge.

Was here for work.  Apps were good. I as well as several others had the grilled lamb-medium rare.  Half of it was burned, the other half was still baaaaaaahhhh-ing. It was too bloody even for a wild carnivore like me.

The decor was Chili's.  I have no interest in returning.

Meh. Have had brunch (only) here a few times and while service was good the food left a fair amount to be desired. Both times Ive eaten here the food came out cold, and frankly under seasoned.

Ill try it for lunch or dinner sometime to update the review if I get a chance.

Atlanta has so much nightlife to offer, that even the suburban options are pretty good. Atkins Park in Smyrna Market Village is the place to go when you are tired of dealing with Park Atlanta, and you don't want to walk a million miles in nice shoes from your parking space on Mars (the planet) to Hand and Hand in the Highlands.

With the economy getting tougher the crowd is noticeably older than just a couple years ago, but on weekends Atkins Park is still packed with beautiful women and guys who don't try very hard.

Last Saturday night cemented that opinion with cheap beer that flowed regularly, and a kickass live band that could shred and sing respectably. Plus, their kitchen stays open as late as midnight or 1p (I saw plates coming out forever... why don't I ever eat there?).

Smyrna Market Village somewhow reminds me of Epcot Center or Disney World. it has that weird pre-fabricated oddly brand new small town / main street feel to it.

Atkins Park situated in the context of this strange place is very different from the Atkins Park VaHi location; however it is also very good in its own right.

I went here for a Winter Dodgeball League season kickoff party. Atkins Park Smyrna is close to my office so I got here earlier than I intended. I opted to eat food on my dime rather than waiting to graze on the free party stuff.

The tavern burger ($8.50) was very good if not great. I opted to add blue cheese and sauteed mushrooms. The fries that came as a side were also spot on perfect.
Not a huge burger but a solid quality burger that compares favorably with one one can get at all the cities best burger places. I decided to wash it all down with the $3.50 pints of Miller Light.

Once the party started I sampled some of the food provided: Turkey sandwich quarters with bacon were good. Not sure if they are on the regular menu or if they are some sort of catered party food option. Wish the bread on those had been toasted. The hummus, garnished with pecans, with veggies (celery sticks, carrot sticks & cucumber slices) and pita bread was great; high quality with a spicy kick.

Onion tarts with peach chutney were good but odd (again, not sure if they are on the regular menu or if they are some sort of catered party food option). Meat mini-empanadas were just fair to middling. Tasted like they had BBQ pork filling.

Similar to the Atkins Park Vahi in that you have two distinctly different section: 1) Fancy dining room dinner area and 2) casual bar area. The fancing dining room area is much larger at this location.

The size and set-up of the restaurant and bar are excellent with decent flow while still accommodating large numbers of people- which is good, because it can get packed. The service is great with friendly staff and excellent bartenders who are engaging and prompt. Drink prices are a bit higher than they should be, all things considered, but the selection of beers in bottle and on tap is quite extensive.

Regretfully, the late hours attract a certain demographic which is mostly comprised of the obnoxious youths who chainsmoke and relish in the live music, a subpar band performing atrocious hit songs of years passed. It's as bad as it seems but if you want to be out late, this is a much better option than driving into Atlanta.

Nice little corner bar in a fairly neat little shopping area in Smyrna. This place is pretty much cookie cutter pub/tavern style bar. I did like that the band playing was awesome. That is always a plus, no one likes to sit through painful renditions of DMB or Tom Petty.

    Food is decent.

    Drinks are normal prices.

The best part of this place is that it is close to home, other than that, nothing to see here

BACON JELLY, BACON JELLY, BACON JELLY. Oh my god, the BACON JELLY was exquisite! In fact, my mouth is watering right now just from writing the words "BACON JELLY". Other than my main topic (BACON JELLY) their brunch menu is quite tasty.

Also, I've been to a couple of functions at their bar, which is not out of the ordinary. The fact they allow smoking is a bummer.

BACON JELLY, BACON JELLY, BACON JELLY!
    Enjoy...the BACON JELLY.

What can I say about AP on here that won't get me in trouble. I guess I could say they have a damn good brunch and I love the basket of biscuits and rolls they bring to the table. They also have a pretty good menu that ranges from burgers, wings, steaks, fish, etc; all with a little splash of Nawlins' thrown in by Chef Rusty.

But the main reason I love Atkins Park in Market Village is because it is a happening spot on weekend nights. I spent many nights at this location hanging out with friends and enjoying some lively spirits while listening some killa bands. I've seen this place so packed that you could not get from one end of the bar to the other.

The bartenders and servers are always nice and upbeat. They'll help you decide what to eat, what to drink, and when you have had enough fun. :)

I love AP and they would get 5 stars if they didn't allow smoking in the bar area.

Oh yeah! Almost forgot, they give away a free shot of Jager on Fridays a 6pm to celebrate the end of the week!

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this place.  This is my "Cheers," my home away from home, my default Saturday night destination.

That being said, here's a quick guide on how to best experience Atkins Park:

1 - if you're looking for a place to eat dinner: this is a great place to eat dinner.  The ambience in the dining room is nice and the food is absolutely to die for!! Salads, burgers, you name it, I would all recommend it.  My favorites are definitely: the short ribs, country fried chicken, the mussles, she-crab soup, and  the pretzels (being from Germany, they're about as close to German pretzels as I've ever had them here).   Let's just put it this way: there's a reason why the former head chef (and creator or most dishes) is now the personal chef for the Zac Brown Band :)

However, if you're a non-smoker, looking to eat dinner DO NOT go into the bar area.  It is very very smoky in there.  That's why there is the separate bar area

2 - if you're looking for a place to have some drinks: perfect spot.  The bar tenders are some of the best in this town! They remember your name and more importantly your drink of the night, and they're fast.  Drinks are strong and cheap ($2.50 mistery beer, $4-5 well drinks....).  Like mentioned before, the bar area gets smoky, so if you're sensitive to that, this is probably not the right place for you.  The bands usually play every night of the week, so sometimes it gets very loud.

The bar is pretty small and it can get pretty packed.  So, my suggestion would be to plant yourself somewhere at the bar and hang on to that seat for dear life!

All in all, I don't think I've ever had a bad time at Atkins Park.  In fact, I'm probably going to go there tonight :)

Meh, went here for drinks for my friend's b-day and I was unimpressed.  She had called to reserve a few tables in the bar area and they said it wouldn't be a problem.  When we arrived both tables that were "reserved" for us had been taken over and they people occupying the tables wouldn't leave.  The bartender said technically they cannot reserve tables so they couldn't ask the patrons to move.  Why did they tell my friend that they would be reserved then? It's this kind of management that really bugs me.  Totally stupid.

The bar area is completely separate from the restaurant and it is a rather small space. It was crazy packed with people and the smoke to air ratio was off the charts. Icky.  I always expect some smoke in bars but this was kind of ridiculous.  Anyway, after about 45 minutes the tables were still occupied so the birthday girl left with the people she drove with while the rest of us stayed back to finish our drinks.  The drinks were the only "pro" to this whole ordeal - they were really strong. I don't know if they're always like this or if the bartender just felt bad about the table fiasco and was boozin' us up.  Needless to say I was done with this place well before midnight. What a bust.  Don't think we'll be going back.

I had lunch/brunch here recently (September) with my 4 year old son and a dear friend of mine.  We sat on the patio, and we received great service throughout our visit.

My friend got there before I did (being pregnant and traveling with a preschooler has affected my ability to be on time every now and then...don't judge me LOL) and as soon as I got to the door, the hostess greeted me and asked me if I was (insert my name here) and once I confirmed, took me to where my friend was waiting. I appreciated that, because in some restaurants...they'd have an issue with doing so.

We started with the southern fried pickles...and let me tell you--they were GREAT. As a matter of fact, my friend and I have been trying to meet up again so we can go and talk and just eat fried pickles at Atkins Park! LOL

My son had the chicken toes with french fries-typical kid's menu fare. Nothing to write home about, and he ate it, so I guess it was okay. I did like how the kid's menu was on the back of a book-the book kept my dear son entertained while waiting for his food.

I had the buttermilk pancakes with applewood bacon, and a side order of grits. I enjoyed the grits more than I enjoyed the pancakes--the grits were perfectly cooked and creamy. The pancakes just tasted a bit on the dry side...I've had better pancakes elsewhere.

To top it off, my friend and I had the Key Lime Pie for dessert. Heavenly. I wanted more, but I didn't want to be greedy. :)

Once we finished our meal, we stayed for a while and chatted (and waited for the rain to stop)...and it was no rush. The waitress continued to fill our water glasses, and continued to be pleasant despite the fact that our check was closed.

Overall it was a great experience. I'll definitely visit again.

Never knew they had another one of these, especially up in the scary northlands of OTP. For at least fifteen minutes after I was told people were going to Atkins Park, I was convinced we were going to the Highlands. At least that one has Photohunt.

After my GPS asked me if I was sure I was still in Georgia, I arrived up here. Parking was not bad at least, it has that one over the Highlands at least. It was supposed to be $5 to get in, but I guess they were only charging for the first few hours so I got in free.

There was a live band, a cool fountain, even though one of the beams of water was quite shorter than the others. I liked the outdoor middle area where the fountain and band were. It was between Atkins and a few other inebriation establishments.

The drinks at Atkins Park were mostly good. They were mainly serving in plastic cups so we could go outside and enjoy the festivities. The first guy filled it to the top and it was only $4.75. One good thing about OTP: prices. The second time, the girl bartender used a glass and tried to charge me $8.75 until I pointed out her mistake. I also asked for a plastic cup and when transferred only filled it halfway. Lame. Guess who I went back to for the next one?

Around 10:30, the stormtroopers came out and did not allow anyone outside who had a drink...even though they were still selling them outside. The whole thing made no sense and the guards posted at every door was lame. To be fair, the guards were posted outside the doors of every establishment that participated in the festival.

Not sure if I would make the drive all the way up here again without some kind of festival, but it was a nice location.

Atkins Park ain't bad... Well, OK, it's better than "ain't bad" but I can't say it's "good" either... maybe "pretty good"... maybe. I would like to say something better and I always expect much more of Atkins Park but that's all I can muster. I have been to Atkins Park a few times and under varying circumstances: for lunch to meet Gretchen O., for drinks and appetizers with the guys from work, and for hanging out on Saturday or Friday evenings and having a couple beers while watching the bands.

The place is nice and is in the new Smyrna Market Village (when will I stop considering it "new"... it's a few years old already) across from the main fountain. The patio makes for a cool place to hang with friends and grab a bite to eat and a couple drinks. The bar area has a nice pub feel and they have bands on the weekends.

As for the food, I have had only lunch and appetizers here. The food was fine but nothing to go out of the way for nor to tempt me to have dinner here. I have had their nacho plate which was good and I think the Italian Muffuletta on another occasion which was OK but I expected it to have more flavor.

The place gets packed on weekend nights and the crowd is pretty cool. The bar staff is friendly and efficient (and the lady bartender is hot). The bands are the usual local bands and play the usual bar favorites but are good.

So, maybe after all, Atkins Park is "pretty good". I will definitely be back from time to time because it is rather convenient especially for grabbing a couple of drinks on the weekends. I may even break down and have dinner here... well, maybe...

I had the pleasure of getting together at Atkins Park Tavern with a large group of ex-Smyrnans (like me) and former schoolmates.  We convened and proceeded to take over a large part of the bar, where we received excellent service throughout the night.

Seating was very accomodating, the drinks were generous and prompt, and the waitstaff was exceptional.  One of the comments that stood out was "The best calamari I've ever eaten in my life was in the Florida Keys . . . until tonight."

Although we were in the bar for the evening, I walked through the restaurant and noticed that the dining section was nicely sequestered away from the live band and bar atmosphere.  There was a roaring fire and several groups enjoying dinner and conversation amid the very cozy and intimate atmosphere (and with the same great service that we were receiving on the bar side of the tavern.)

The house band was tight, and very crowd-friendly, and kept things hopping until the wee hours.

Parking was convenient and plentiful, as well.   We had a great time!

Chef Rusty did it again.  The menu has changed, and I barely remember what is missing.  Took my best girlfriend for dinner last week.  We were torn between a lamb shank that has been braised for hours in a cabernet reduction with tasso white beans and carrots, and a Cajun Cornish Game hen with sides of parmasan fried okra and jalepeno mac and cheese, or Swordfish Rockefeller with praline pumpkin casserole and sauted baby tomatoes.

She went with the Game Hens and me with the Swordfish.  As swordfish was a rare first for me, Chef did not disappoint.  One thing I have to say about Atkin's Park is the originality with the veggetables and side dishes does not go unnoticed.  The Mac and cheese was absolutely sinful.  Not overpowering with the jalepenos, but warmed you all the way down. I get the feeling someone in the kitchen knows I love veggies as herbed spaghetti squash managed to make it's way onto my plate.  The pumpkin was so good, I thought it was sweet potatoe at first.

For dessert we split a Pumpkin creme brulee.  I am a chocolate die-hard.  Dessert HAS to involve chocolate; I didn't miss it.  Not too sweet, the creme brulee is accompanied by toasted mini-marshmallows and sweet whipped cream.  A divine layering of flavors and textures.

I had no idea Downtown Smyrna was such a happening place. If I didn't live so far I would surely visit this area more often.

Atkins Park Tavern, is your typical small/mid-sized bar. That is packed to maximum capacity. I have to say I enjoyed that although this place was packed I didn't have to be subjected to your usual drunk college kids, spilling drinks and being overly rowdy. There was a live band that was actually pretty good. The bartenders and waitresses were very friendly and full of great conversation (and random off the wall trivia).

It was a little weird seeing the pretty blonde at the bar crying, but being the compassionate person that I am, I was there to offer some 'friendly' support =)

The drinks were also very good (meaning strong) and inexpensive, I ordered a 'sex on the beach' thinking I was going have to shell out close to $12 but nope a measly $5.75 =).

I would recommend this place if you and your friends are looking for a casual, laid back evening. The next time I'm in Smyrna I will definitely be stopping by Atkins Park.

BTW...lots of eye candy for both the ladies and gents. It was also nice running into one of my favorite yelpers ;-)

I have been to this place to hang out during the night life, and I have been to this spot for lunch.

The nightlife was pretty cool.  Seemed like the 1-3 yrs out of college crowd that converges on this spot on Friday/Saturday nights to drink their azzes off.  I actually had a pretty time after a few Jaeger (sp) bombs..lol.  It gets loud and rowdy in here, and ppl are pretty much drunk off their azzes at around midnight, but isnt that the sign of a good party?  The drinks are also pretty damn cheap, so thats a major plus.

The lunch was definitely a bit less inspiring.  I had the Lemon Pepper chicken, lightly battered pieces of chicken breast on top of rice served with brocolli.  Sigh.....as much as I would like to rave about this place like the other reviewers, I just cant.  The food wasnt really that good.  But it was really greasy, and it was really over seasoned.

The server was pretty non intrusive and relatively prompt with everything, so i cant hate on that.

Definitely wont be back for lunch...but when i want some cheap drinks and a rowdy crowd in Smyrna....Ill be there!

Atkins Park is a fun place to go at night with friends for some drinks, it has  a bit of  a party atmosphere, perhaps it is because the bar area becomes very crowded. If tight quarters aren't your thing I would stay away from here for your nightlife.

I have eaten at this location and the food is good.
I would recommend the Shecrab Soup!!!!!!

Over all good place to go and hang out with friends.

The Smyrna location of Atkins Park Tavern is a gem! Excellent service, amazing good and a great atmosphere. I was surprised how upscale the food is in their restaurant portion of the tavern - but the pricing is very reasonable. You would expect to pay twice as much for some of their entrees.

Menu items have a New Orleans flair, with muffalettas, a debris sandwich, she-crab soup, beignets, gumbo and voo-doo who-dat fries. Really good eats!

Friends and family I've taken here have all been very impressed with the food and service. I don't frequent the bar side, since they allow smoking.

Also on Sundays during the NFL season they play the New Orleans Saints games on big screens both in the bar and on the patio.

I have been to Atkins Park before in Highlands, but only for drinks.  Last night the girls and I went to Atkins for dinner at their Smyrna location.  This Atkins was located this charming shopping center called the Market Village.  The Market Village had this old time feel to it...which I always love to see.

Of course Atkins park is a tavern/pub so I was very skeptical about the food here.  I ordered the Grilled Red Snapper which came on a bed of rice and beans and potato crisps and mango salsa avocado.  I found the red snapper a little dry and the rice and beans were okay.  My gal pal ordered the Southern Fried Chicken (and we planned on sharing each others dish) and thank GOD we did because the fried chicken was so so so tasty.  It was marinated chicken fried with a batter served with garlic green beans (fresh beans...not canned stuff), mashed potatoes and corn.  Every item on this dish was delicious!  We also ordered a side of their jalapeno corn macaroni and cheese.  Oh that hit the spot.

My other gal pal ordered the pecan crusted Georgia Trout, which was served over mashed potatoes and garlic green beans...also the trout had this horseradish sauce over it, which had a little kick to it.  It was also very tasty.

I really enjoyed the food at Atkins Park.  Talk about good comfort food!

I will definitely be back.....and this time I am not sharing the Southern Fried Chicken y'all!

You can never go wrong at any of the Atkins park locations.  The club sandwichs are the best I've had.  Everything on the menu is really good.  Great atmosphere after hours as well.

Yes, it smells like a tavern and cigarettes, but you can let your hair down, chill with friends, a great selection of beers and geat food!!

    What more do ya want??

Come here during dinner and the first thing you will notice is the thick haze of smoke.  Sure you can sit on the patio but you won't escape stinking like a pack of Camels.

Decent food, priced a bit higher than the quality.  I forgive this place for the beer and the proximity to where I live.  Good place to hang with friends, not a good place to take date.

Is it even possible to get a damn hamburger without reeking of cigarettes in this town?

    I love brunch.
We sat on the patio because inside smelled of a tavern-stale beer and cigarettes which is not exactly a good recipe for Sunday brunch in my book. Our server was very attentive.
I ordered the Fried Green Tomato Benedict. Heaven! The hollandaise sauce was a sun-dried tomato sauce- so good. My only complaint was that the tomatoes were sliced a little too thick and made my breakfast a tad too tart.
My dining companion had the sweet potato pancakes that were as big as her plate. They were amazing.
I will certainly head back for brunch again.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Smyrna/Vinings location of Atkins Park. It attracts a large crowd of not only OTP'ers but a good mix of ITP'ers as well. The crowd is similar to the Highlands - 20 to early 30 somethings - and it is actually fairly crowded for being out of a bar hopping district. They keep regular bar hours as well - open until 3:00 AM.

The beer selection is fantastic and it's easier to get food here later at night than at the Highlands location, which is often crowded with bar goers. I'm a big fan of the Atkins Nachos served with a Stella on draft.

I love Atkins Park in Smyrna.

For those of you who like bars/restaurants that are nice, but not to the point you cannot have fun, then Atkins Park should be your next stop. They have a a pretty good beer menu, with almost 30 different types of bottled beer and 16 different types of beer on draft to choose from.

The food there was a bit pricey but well worth the money. I definitely would have to recommend you try their Atkins Nachos as a starter, and then order the grilled Atlantic salmon for your main entree.

Also, try to sit on the patio if there is room available.  They keep it heated in the winter and really cool in the summer.  Perfect for any cold or hot night in Atlanta.
