Some of my favorite dinning experiences are here based on the ambiance and view. The food is always satisfying and fresh (their very own lobster boat "Diana Too" is docked in the harbor in view of the restaurant).
The sweeping view is of Cohasset harbor with a thin strip of Scituate in the distance. Rain, shine or even snow having an elegant dinner cantilevered over the harbor is always amazing.
I recently tried the Paella which was excellent--no skimping on seafood or the portion. The "Diana Too salad" with fresh lobster is consistently good and their Bloody Mary is one of the best I've had. The brunch here is an epic feast that would make a Roman proud; complete with a chocolate fountain and anything else you could desire.
The negative: it pains me to not give Atlantic the full 5 stars but lately I've noticed the interior seems to be showing its age: some stained chairs with fraying fabric. The service doesn't seem as attentive as it once was either. Â I believe the restaurant is for sale and has been for a few years, it's possible maintenance has slipped as a result. Â A renovation isn't necessary but would put Atlantica back on top.
Definitely recommend though
My sister- in -law and her husband took my husband out for his birthday. They were all satisfied with their meals. (3 stars for their meals...1 star for mine) Being a vegan I was surprised to see cheese on my pasta, after I told waitress that I wanted a vegan meal...scampi meal without butter and shrimp. My meal came out...covered with cheese. There was no cheese even mentioned on the menu. Of course I did not want to return my dinner because we were there for a celebration which my in laws were treating us. Kind of picked around it. Ate almost none of it. Chef needs to educate himself the difference between vegetarian and vegan meals.
Review Source:We recently had our rehearsal dinner here and overall it was a great experience with just a few minor things to complain about. Â Michelle, the coordinator for events, is great to work with and was very helpful to my mother in law throughout the process of planning and executing the dinner. Â She is very friendly and was there that evening making sure everything went as planned.
Overall, the food was very good that evening, with the only thing we heard negative feedback on was the Potato Leek soup - which most said was bland to the point no one could tell what it was supposed to be. Â We had a Haddock and a Sirloin entree, both of which were delicious and the sirloin was huge! Â
The service was generally pretty good, although during the dessert service my husband I were the last to be served (and actually, they had served everyone at our table BUT us and had moved on to other tables) and my mother in law had to say to the waitstaff "you forgot the bride and groom," which wouldn't have been a huge deal but we were at a like a "center table" and people had given speeches and pointed at us and there were photos of us all over the place so I think it was fairly obvious who we were. Â After dinner we were told to clear out of our room but that we could go in to the bar area, but not much longer after the bartender told us he was closing the bar and was quite rude to some of our family in the process. Â My husband's uncle didn't like that so he sassed him right back and we were able to get a round of drinks but they were still trying to rush us out, which I didn't understand why because it wasn't late (10pm on a Saturday night) and they had a wedding in the other room wrapping up and you'd assume many of those people would come out to the bar after as well so I don't know what the big deal was. Â And, even still, you don't have to be completely rude to someone if you are closing the bar and this guy was quite the DB so I had to laugh when Uncle P from New Jersey sassed him back and shut him up.
Still a fan, but take note that the staff could use a little work.
