This review is long overdue but I feel compelled to update my review. After a less than desirable first experience at Beachfire, I wanted to give it a second chance because it has so much potential. The second experience provided similar service and food, however I was more disgruntled because it was this past fall before the restaurant closed for the season and my boyfriend and I were 1 of 3 couples in the ENTIRE restaurant... I tried to cut the restaurant slack the first time because it was quite busy and a nice day in the summer. The second time I visited, it was dead like i previously mentioned and pouring rain outside. There is no reason when it is dead and only 3 couples in the whole restaurant that service should be lax. Now let me make things clear- I am not one who goes to a place like Beachfire expecting 5-star service, but I DO expect servers to not have personal conversations (venting about co-workers and managers )3 feet away from me; That was my dinner music, the entire time I was there! I also don't expect when it is a quiet, no DEAD, night to have to wait over a half hour for a meal. The fish was petrified and the vegetables were swimming in garlic and butter- I couldn't taste the vegetables. My boyfriend and I shared a crab cake that wasn't great, but it was good. My boyfriend got the lobster roll which had hardly any lobster in it, and what lobster was there was so chewy he couldn't swallow half of it.
    This place could be AWESOME...

OK....I emailed the owner and told him what a horrible experience I had on my previous visit and he sent me a gift card and a nice letter asking me to try them again.  I did and I have to say that this visit was a 180 from my previous experience.  First, our server (I believe her name was Marianne?) was fantastic - nothing like the servers I had there in the past.  And the food was actually good!  Downsides were the long wait for food (our server apologized and actually gave us free drinks bc of it) and the seats/table were dirty.  But, overall, a good experience this time!!

    Great view. Bad everything else.
I gave one star because the view is nice, and they let me bring my dog to sit on the patio.
I sat for awhile, waiting for my friends. It probably took the waitress about ten minutes to even ask if I wanted a drink. I got a pomegranate margarita. She didnt ask if I wanted rocks or frozen. It arrived on the rocks ( without rocks) in half a margarita glass, and half a plastic cup. It was all syrup, no booze. Generally kind of blah and a waste of sugar calories.
When the waitress first approached me, I told her that I was in a real hurry ( it was 5 and I needed to leave at 6) and I gave her my card and asked her for a separate tab so I wouldnt have to wait for my friends to finish and then divide everything up. Point being I made it very clear I was here for a drink or two and then I needed to leave.

Friend 1 showed up, was able to order her drink in a decent amount of time. Friends 3 and 4 showed up, and probably had to wait about 15-20 mins just to order a first drink. They are usually pretty cool cucumbers, and even they were getting annoyed.
I ordered a 1/2 dozen oysters and 1 more drink ( went with the standard vodka/soda...cant screw that up right). The drink was done well, thank god, the oysters came warm on a bed of....lettuce?? No lemon. I think Helen Keller may have shucked these bad boys as well- the muscle wasnt cut, so they didnt slide off the shell, all of the brine had been spilled, and there were pieces of shell in the oyster. MM, hot crunchy, lettuce oyster salad. As I mentioned previously, I was short on time. I went to the bar and asked for some ice and a lemon to be brought over. 10 minutes later, I went back to the bar to ask again, and was finally just given the ice/lemon. Did i really just have to beg for ice for oysters??

I left stupified and 45 minutes late. I have never given a waitress a bad tip before, but this one was just too much for me to deal with. $40 later for 1 crappy drink, some hot oysters, and one decent drink... I left just mad. All I wanted was a relaxing couple of beach cocktails with my friends!
