When our regular haunt for Christmas Eve dinner was not going to be available, in trying to stay close to home, we decided to try Augustine Grille.
Looking at the menu online I was excited about the potential of what we may be able to dine upon. While the offerings were delicious, I wasn't particularly wowed. My sister and I split the Lobster Napoleon small plate as our appetizer and I had the filet. While the broccolini was perfectly crisp, I've had better filets. I rarely eat red meat anymore so when I do I really want it to be delicious. This was just at par. Nothing super special. The Bailey's cheesecake I shared with my husband for dessert was OK, but again didn't wow me.
Maybe our problem was we were there for Christmas Eve when they were operating with a limited menu. I haven't given up yet, but I'm not holding my breath.
The staff that we encountered was fabulous. They handled our table of twelve with the minimalist of hiccups. Just need to see if the food stacks up next time.
