Its not about THE BAR, but its about the people you go with. I dont know why and how we ended up here when we first started at NOONAN's then went to Sean's house then off to B Street we went.

I can very well remember the night, this is back in the day when I seriously didnt know about DUI and how bad its going to be when I get pulled over by "my bestfriends" the cops. I can drink and I know how to handle it, I know how to space them out and I can drink beer and cocktails, and martinis and stuff and still know what Im doing, sure Im buzzed and maybe chitchatty a-bit but I sure know what Im doing and I can still very well drive...Yeah Yeah its me...sssshhhh....LOL.

Anyway, there's  a dance floor, or was it a space....we got down and dance the night away...yeah Im not gonna name names but we all had fun that night...and we were all still able to make it to work the following day Saturday.

    Good times.

So let me start out by saying I do not drink alcohol. So now you must be asking yourself why the hell is someone who doesn't drink reviewing a bar? Well, I will tell you why. Every Wednesday Night is Karaoke night at the B Street Tavern. I go every week. I get there around 10pm usually and leave around 1am or so. It's a blast, seriously. I look forward to it every week. The DJ is fantastic and the bartender isn't only good at serving drinks, she is the best singer there! If you want to have an absolute awesome time come on down to Karaoke!

Strange place, but then again Marin is full of middle aged yuppies, so what can you really expect from one of the only "happening" bars in San Rafael? I've been here twice, both times around 10:30-11 p.m., and the place was empty. There are always a few overdressed barfly's hanging around, but for the most part, it seems pretty dead. Give it about a half an hour to an hour and all of a sudden you'll find yourself being elbowed by skanky chics carrying lapdogs and "accidentally" brushed up against by creepy, fugly men. I came here about two weeks ago with a friend from high school who I never see because she became a sort of surrogate mother...whole other story...but anyway, she is probably one of the most entertaining, wild girls you've ever met and she made my second B-Street experience worth while. They play pretty cool movies without sound on TV's which I think is pretty cool, but I would rather watch the movies than actually be at a bar in San Rafael. Oh they get major points taken away for the bouncers. Seriously the lamest guys ever. They horde all the chairs, but never seem to use them. Just watch them to make sure no one sits in them. They also have a ridiculous dress code posted on the door. Like there is massive gang activity in Marin. Ha! No hats, men have to wear shirts with collars (which they don't enforce), no tank tops (there goes every girl in town). Come on, it's not like you're a trendy bar in SF; you're a shitty tavern in Marin.

p.s. I have to mention that they do karaoke sometimes here (it was there the first time I came) and it's pure comedy to watch white and Mexican dudes singing Eminem and Dr. Dre songs. Classic.

I am *so* scared of this place.  It's located on the corner of B Street and there are always police cars (plural!) ready to arrest drunken/rowdy people coming from B Street Tavern.

Supposedly the bouncers are doing a better job of not letting in the ghetto gangsters.  There are 1 or 2 pool tables in the back and always a DJ spinning, I've never seen the juke box in use.

I danced to Britney Spear's "Toxic" last weekend.  This place is a little outdated, divey, and the bartenders are white trash looking.
