I LUV The Back Porch! It's a great place to go around happy hour. They have decent drink specials (I think it's like $3 vodka sodas, idk bc my hub gets our tab). I definitely like sitting outside in the beer garden. It makes me feel as if I'm drinking up in my burb of Chicago I grew up in or maybe olearys minus the gulf in SRQ. I guess, like home.
The servers are awesome & over the past few months (moved here in May) we havd become regulars. I am never left thirsty . Pam & I wish I could remember her name (sry if u read this) are AWESOME with my 3 year old, Aubrie. They take her around the restaurant with them.
My fav thing to order is the salad with the mixed greens, goat cheese, cranberries & pine nuts. I'm totes having memory lapses this am. Their onion rings are also TDF!
Seriously a must check out if ur around the burbs of Cincy!

I come to the back porch all the time and it is awesome!! Our normal waitress is Terri She is a great waitress and fun to be around. The food here is splendid. On every other Friday they have clam chowder And that is one of my main foods that I love here. For a appetizer I love to have the mozzarella sticks. My wife loves to drink the Yingling beer and I think she loves it most because they bring it in a frosted glass. I recommend the back porch to everyone because it has great atmosphere, great food and great service. Come one, come all and you'll  have a ball.

I live just 6 minutes away from here, and although I have only one Yelp check in I have been a semi-regular over the past  3 1/2 years. (Wasn't yelping before.)

The Back Porch fits the definition of a true modern American 'pub' -- that is, public house.  Just on a VERY large scale. Although there's a definite emphasis on beers and spirits, you really can't call this a bar. As others have said, the bar itself is very small compared to,the rest of the place. You've got your high top tables right there in the bar area, a small dining room just off the bar, then the big main dining room with booths and tables that are well arranged to accommodate a lot of people without feeling squeezed. Then you've got not one but two outdoor rooms that are protected from the elements, plus the big outdoor area with the neon palm trees.  Guests of all ages will feel at home somewhere!

Menu has been revamped somewhat over the past year or so.  Excited to see the $5 bar bites menu available at all times .. Good stuff on there and portion is much more than a bite. My gripe going back a couple of years was that the menu was lacking excitement and the prices seemed too high for an ultra casual place. Seems like they've been working on both issues.

Fish and chips is my go to item for Friday and other meatless occasions. Fast, delicious, and fills you up.  And don't miss the fried pretzel bar bite. To. Die. For.  Wings with the garlic sauce are also recommended. Their chili unfortunately  is "Texas style." Ribs are excellent and you should get two meals out of it easily.

The wifi signal needs a boost.  You can also play Keno here and they have instant lottery tickets.

They offer a prompt and efficient  takeout service too and basically charge nothing for it.  Last time I looked it was 25 cents. (Not per container, for the whole order.). Call it in, hop in the car and head over.

I expect to be checking in more often.

Back Porch Saloooooooon! I love you!

We met up with some suburban friends after a father's day celebration in the burbs and asked, "Do you know any where that is not a chain up here?" After much deliberation and another text from me saying, "I want to go somewhere funny. Somewhere different and unexpected." My lovely friends take us here--And we were so grateful!

We started the night by playing a little cornhole out back. So much fun! You basically treat this place like your back yard. You go up to the bar order a beer then go back to your business. No frills good old fashion fun place.

It was a warm summer night and after we were all corn-holed out we just sat at one of the many outdoor tables and chatted the night away with plenty of delicious booze to boot. Our waitress was kind enough to let us know the kitchen was closing soon, so naturally I ordered a kids chicken finger meal. Turns out, they are dang good too!

I would come back to this place in a heartbeat. Totally check it out if you want something summery and different!

This place is a ripoff and the food was horrible.

I ordered chicken fingers, fries, and a pepsi.   The chicken fingers were frozen and tasteless.  The worse part is my bill with a $3 tip was $27.  RIP OFF.  I'll never be giving this place anymore of my money.

My visit this past Friday 04/12/2013 was my third visit over a span of about 3.5 years.  The first two times were to meet a friend from my former neighborhood for cocktails.  And both of those times it was Summer.  The inside bar area is smallish but there are ample high top tables and stools so drinks and conversation were alright.

This time I went alone and ate lunch.  I went at peak lunch hour and was able to grab a seat at the bar.  No wait.  And there wasn't a line to get seated even on a weekday lunch hour.  So it's bigger than you think.

The bartenders were friendly, chatty and knew their business.  Drinks and food were flying 'round the place and I grew to enjoy just listening and people watching.  I was the odd man out as several patrons were known and ate there a lot (judging by the chat).  Lots of menu options.  The special, which I did not order but saw plenty of, was beer-battered cod with mac 'n cheese.  Those eating it were chowing down... so the food was good.

Me?  Had a toasted chicken salad sandwich with potato chips.  It came with a large pickle spear that was very good and fresh.  The sandwich came on a toasted wheat hamburger bun, lettuce and a thick tomato slice.  Entirely large and delicious.

There are sand volleyball courts on site so Back Porch Saloon is probably a very cool nighttime spot.  And from its perch atop the hill on Princeton-Glendale, the lights of the surrounding 'burbs are probably nice in spring, summer and fall.

    Eat up!

This place is probably pretty fun to visit during the summer. In the winter, it's your average hole-in-the-wall bar. Bartender and kitchen staff are pretty friendly and talkative. Drinks are a little watered down. Didn't try the food. Chill enough place to hang with friends.

One of the few late night eateries where you can get a beer with a side of grease. The best selections are the beef nachos with a half pound of melted cheese on top, or the infamous buffalo dip which was purchased 5 times at my table in 1 sitting. Overall though a great place to chill out with friends.

Good food in a fun bar atmosphere!! Got a salad this time, but would try a burger or dinner next time. Great selection of beers and drinks. Loved the crowd.

Great indoor and outdoor atmosphere with plenty to do or watch.  I'm not much of a volleyball player, but it's certainly fun to watch.

I recently ordered the Buffalo Chicken Dip and the Black Bean Burger, which were both very good, but my favorite was the burger.  It had a lot of flavor and not too spicy.  Nice!

    Great hang out spot.

I just started to go there and the food is amazing. Their prime rib sandwich is one of the best anywhere. Teri is probably one of the best servers that I've had in some time. She is awesome! If you don't try the Back Porch, you're missing out on a great time and great food.

The Back Porch Saloon is alright by me. The beer selection won't blow your mind at all but they have Yuengling, Smithwicks and Guinness on tap, so I'm not complaining AND their pints are under five dollars which is unheard of in these parts.

Hung out there with some friends on Thursday night and the place was packed. They seem to have some pretty decent happy hour specials (from 5-7 and then again from 10-some later time) but since we were all in the mood for beers, we didn't take them up on their happy hour vodka and cranberry cocktails. Billy kept the beers and waters coming so one point for Billy. Some of the beers had weak heads though so, maybe only half a point for Billy.

One in our group tried (what appeared to be) sausage and kraut on toasted bread and inhaled the thing so it couldn't have been awful.

The Back Porch looks like a saloon (if you ignore the jukebox which wasn't functioning, the televisions displaying Keno numbers and the nefarious bar computer game consoles) until you step outside. Their outside seating area is enormous which is fantastic for those rare, mild Cincinnati evenings and looks like a place where Parrotheads would feel at home. They offer volleyball (not very saloon-y but whatever), cornhole, and a GIANT JENGA SET. Brilliant!

Also, The Back Porch is very community oriented and supports a few local, fund raising organizations which warms the cockels of my heart.

Overall, I would happily go back for many inexpensively priced beers and many, many games played with their gigantic Jenga set.  I think I've found my favorite suburban watering hole.

The Back Porch is one of my favorite local hangouts.  I love their late hours...it's great to meet a friend for a late dinner and not get rushed out by 10 on a weeknight.  The atmosphere is friendly and casual and the food is always tasty!  Great full bar, too!

This is a great place to hang out and drink a few beers with friends, but the food just isn't great. I would say it's average at best. Same for the service. The outdoor area is a fun atmosphere during the warmer months. All in all a great place for casual drinks but not so much for the food.

I came here on a weeknight.  The place was very laidback and far back from the main street, which made it hard to find, but it's large in square footage because it included the huge back patio area.  My friend and I sat at the bar, drinking and talking, and the bartender was nice enough to leave us alone but refill our drinks promptly.  The place looked like it could be fun on the weekends but was relatively empty the night I was there.  I would return if I were in the area with friends.

How can I not review this place when I practically moved in the summer of 2007? Good drinks, tons of regulars, lots of cornhole and late night food.

I will miss this place the most this summer now that I live out of town. Just an all around great place to hang out and get drinks. Patrons are friendly and so are the employees.

When a bar survies for more then 30 years you know it is something special.  You can play cornhole outside during the summer.  the food is acutal good and not all deep fried!
