We were looking for vegetarian or organic meat dishes and hit Yelp for suggestions. Â We found the Bad Apple to have a decent selection on the first seasonal menu, with it's chicken being the star, crispy skin and juicy inside. Â (I can't remember the name of that chicken dish, because its components change seasonally, but the chicken is always good). Â My second choice for dinner, and maybe even my first, is their fish fry on Friday nights. Â It is panko crusted, lightly salted and served with sweet potato fries. Â I loved their vegetable risotto, which was a lunch menu item, but that left too quickly when the seasons changed. Â My fiance has enjoyed the butternut ravioli and the pumpkin soup. Â
OH, and the salad with the wine poached pears... Â Don't miss that one. Â It's easily one of our favorite salads anywhere we have ever been. Â
My only gripe is that they went light on the vegetarian and organic meats the last couple of times we were there. Â We had some difficulty finding something to eat independent of each other, and we like to each try something different. Â However, their menu changes so frequently that I am sure this will not be a problem in the next menu or so.
Me and my wife went here on a whim and it was quite a treat. Â We were seated as soon as a arrived and the waitress was very friendly and curtious. Â The food a had was very good and very fast to say the least. Â The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Â I would definitely would recommend this to anyone who likes a cozy dinner with food of high quality.
Review Source:Incredible! Â Our group had the French onion soup, chicken, miso salmon, lamb, burger, Seaglass Pinot Noir, and kids' grilled cheese. Everything was delicious and even the kids were happy. The place is small but the service is good and the food is all very, very well cooked. The wine and lamb were the winners.
Review Source:By far my favorite restaurant on the west side of the city. The addition of upscale dinning  as a break from the usual Italian and wing choices is very welcome. Menu while never extensive, changes often and always has interesting items as the chef is not afraid to show some creativity. Service is usually prompt and friendly. Not cheap, but top shelf food and service usually isn't.
Review Source:Was taken here for a business dinner and was very impressed.
Went expecting a nice little bistro atmosphere with good bistro style food. Was pleasantly surprised to find exceptional up-scale food with uncommon menu choices. I had the venison special served with sweet potato gnocchi and was beyond impressed. The food was outstanding, the service was very good as well. The others in my group had the lamb shank and the farmer's chicken. Both looked outstanding and they raved. Desserts were also outstanding--one of the others had been there before and had a peach cobbler with ginger ice cream. Not on the menu in the winter, so I had a good creme brulee and the others each had the apple cobbler with rosemary, caramel ice cream. We all enjoyed that as well, but the entrees were the star of the show.
If I had one complaint it would be the strip mall location. This place deserves a main street location in the village.
Nicer inside than the strip mall location would imply. Overpriced for the area, but the quality of food is more ... advanced... than the average family diner. They get a bit too experimental with some of their dishes, but overall everything has been very good. It seems their menu changes every season, and it is not overwhelmingly huge (5-6 main courses, a few apps). Expect spend $20-30 per person, food only, for dinner. Lunch was about 12-20 if I remember correctly. The cheeseburger (with a fancy cheese, Bri I think) is about $12 (maybe 12.95), and the sandwiches seemed to run about that. The cheeseburger is also on the dinner menu, it's the only crossover I noticed.
Oh, and it's fairly quiet so kids either need to be on their best (inside voices) behavior or stick to lunch, we didn't feel too out of place in the afternoon but I was on edge when our toddler started getting over excited about their french fries (this is fair, though, as their french fries are absolutely delicious!).
This place is an outstanding little restaurant tucked away in the plaza behind McDonalds. The hostess was very pleasant and seated us quickly. Our server Tom politely introduced himself and informed us of the evening specials.
We placed our orders, and shortly after Tom brought us some warm Tomato Basil bread, which they make there. It's a very dense, flavorful bread, with a nice crust to it. We were also given three dipping sauces with our bread: roasted garlic whipped butter, olive oil with balsamic, and an olive tapenade. They were all excellent, but I have to say the tapenade was my favorite.
FYI - In case you're not a wine person, they do offer a few beers. I had a Sam Adams Octoberfest, which was presented to me in a cold bottle, cap removed, along with a Sam Adams glass.
For appetizers, I had the French Onion soup. Very good - topped with Gruyere. The broth is very good. My friend had the arancini. I tried a piece - excellent. I love the red sauce that came with it - I could eat it with a spoon!
Our entrees: I had the pumpkin cheddar Mac & Cheese. It's penne in a roasted pumpkin purée with a sharp cheddar and amber beer cream sauce. Sprinkled with seasoned panko. The pumpkin was subtle, and was a good combo with the cheddar beer cream sauce. Not overly sharp though. My friend had the butternut squash gnocchi. I tried a piece - it was phenomenal.
We were too full for dessert. We were very satisfied, and will certainly be going back in the future.
My husband and I loved this place. It's a small restaurant with only about 15 tables or so as another reviewer said, tucked in a plaza in spencerport village.
The atmosphere is clean and inviting. The staff is pleasant and knowledgeable. if you're coming here on a Fri or Sat night, you should make reservations.
They have a good selection of tasty wines on the menu and the food menu filled with new american delights. They had a really great artisan rosemary bread with 3 dippings - olive oil/ vin, apricot butter, and an olive mixture. All were great.
For starters we had the mussels in a lemon butter sauce... we asked for extra bread to soak up the sauce because it was delicious. We also ordered the risotto cakes... they are stuffed with mozzarella and fried, topped with marinara sauce - so good!
For our meals we had the lobster mac and cheese and the short ribs. My husband and I shared our dishes which made for the perfect meal. Everything was cooked just right and was perfectly flavored. They were generous with the lobster in the mac and cheese as well. The salt was a little overpowering in the mac and cheese and mashed potatoes however. That's something I hope they can change a bit... other than that it was a perfect night. It almost felt like we weren't in Rochester anymore...
We'll definitely be back.
I took my boyfriend there on a Sunday they were doing a wine and dinner tasting, I thought it would be something fun and different to do. Â The atmosphere was very nice and clean. Â
We arrived early there was only one other couple in the resturant. Â We were seated at a 4 person table with plenty of two seated tables available , and then told we would be sitting with strangers it was uncomfortable and not very intimate while your trying to enjoy eachother company. Â Also the table was a card table my boyfriend and I are pretty tall and could barley fit our legs under and when the other couple arrived it was very tight. Â When more couples arived after us the hostess seated them at the 2 top tables I found it very strange that she would not seat first come first serve.
The wine was good and the food was ok, it did not specify online the meals so it was a suprise when we got there the first two entrees were fish im not a big fan but the halibut was ok and then a raw tuna course came after and i could not eat it. I wish i would have know the menu before hand.  Then we got to the 4th course it was a meatball and ravioli I was quite excited to try it , I split open my meatball to find a long dark hair in it I was turned off right away. I informed the watress quietly and she apoligized and offered me another glass of wine, or another meatball, since everyone was already moving on to dessert I took the glass of wine I guess that was fine. Â
Later that night I awoke in the middle of the night with extreme stomach pain and ended up getting sick. Â I'm upset at the events that occured after the amount of money I spent on that dinner.
