Sorry my Missouri friends. Bair's missed the mark in more ways than one. However, all is not lost. With a little bit of attention-to-detail from the kitchen staff, Bair's could be a good southside spot.
Burgers: I have started noticing a lot of burger places do this; meat temperatures and descriptions right on the menu. Mostly, I find it unnecessary but in certain cases, it lets you know that the restaurant takes pride in cooking meat to temperature.
3 burgers were ordered at our table, 2 medium, and one medium-well. They all came out over-well. All tenderness and texture was lost. The accompanying fries were lukewarm at best. The funny thing is, the menu had this bold pitch about the quality of the meat. "Fresh, never frozen all american..." That's great! Just treat the meat with the same respect that it is shown on the menu .
Some thing's to consider: When you serve a burger with the lettuce, tomato, and onion on the side with the top of the bun off, it gives me the wrong impression. It looks like you are just trying to make it look like more food is on the plate. It's not really a big deal. It's just kind of off-putting. I don't like assembling my food before I eat it. Also, can we get a toasted bun?
Had the BLTC. This grill definitely know how to lay on plenty of bacon. Good sandwich. To get fewer calories, I should have said "hold the cheese," but it was a terrific sandwich.
They have several different side dishes that I could order with the BLTC -- fries, sweet potato fries, and others. I chose broccoli to the astonishment of everyone at my table. It was perfect.
This is one of my favorite places to eat in all of Springfield. Â The food and the staff are absolutely great. Â The best thing here is absolutely the large selection of burgers and appetizers. Â I highly recommend the fried mushrooms and the home made potato chips. Â This isn't your typical sports-bar either. Â You can watch the game and have a good time here, but it is also a great place for families to eat. Â I'm glad that they are doing well, and hope they'll add more locations soon!
Review Source:This was very tasty burger. The fries were ok but the bacon on the burger took the cake. The burger was juicy and seasoned well. I got the Blackened Boom Boom Burger that has 4 sliced of bacon on it. It was tasty and they do have a food challenge where if you eat their 2 lbs. burger and a double order of fries you get it free, one of the guys in our party attempted it. I think I will stick with the regular sized burgers.
