Good place for a casual drink. Nice beer selection, good sweet potato fries, all the standard bar games, but please bring back Nudie Photo Hunt!!! Regular Photo Hunt is definitely not the same. As sad as it is there have definitely been times we came to this place just to play that game and now they've taken it away!
Review Source:Inconstant service. Most of the time it's fast and friendly but last time I got a waitress named Ashley and she was rude and forgot to put in our food order so we waited 45 minutes for potato skins. We asked when it why it was taking long. she said it will come out when it comes out. We complained to the manager and he had nothing to say which really upset me.
Review Source:I threw my husband's 40th surprise party here this past Saturday.
Worked out SO WELL!!
I called and reserved the Game Room (which was FREE), talked to Dan (manager) to arrange the event. I chose to do apps for everyone, but you can also do drink tickets of your choice.
Apps and drinks are fairly priced and wonderful service!! Jessica took GREAT care of us!! There was nearly 40 of us total, and she was very attentive!
Also, had some family friends who couldn't line up a babysitter, so they brought their kids (granted it was at 5pm, but still...) and the bar let them in! They have a policy after 9pm, they have to kick out anyone not 21, but this still gave our family a chance to celebrate with everyone before that time came.
I will be back!!!
We found ourselves in the mood for Cobb Salads on Monday and were in the search for the perfect Cobb Salad. Â
We decided to take a little drive and ended up at Baker Street Pub and Grill. Â Cute little area if I may say so myself. Â
The one mishap was the hostess/ID checker at the front door. Â No real greeting whatsoever, just a "Show me your ID" statement. Â Not sure if she was a hostess or not but either way she was the first impression of the place and we were both immediately turned off.
The rest of the meal was perfection. Â We both ordered an Iced Tea and a Cobb Salad. Â Salad arrived timely and with all the appropriate toppings. Â I'm not sure one can love a salad but at this moment in time we were both in love with our bowls of lettuce with bacon, egg, blue cheese, cucumber, tomato's, and avocado. Â
Solid chain menu and food and sometimes that's all you want. Â A well executed salad can be had at most chain establishments and that's just what we did.
My second time in yesterday (Saturday afternoon) in the last two to three weeks and had the pleasure of being served by the same two bartenders. Liz and Jenny were both friendly, knowledgeable and fast. First time in I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to order brunch and receive happy hour drink prices in the bar (for one hour only). I ordered the steak and eggs w/ potatoes and Texas toast and had a wheat bear or two. Everything was served promptly at the proper temperature and taste profiles as expected. Their hostess was there both times and was friendly and helpful, she gave me three recommendations when I asked her what was good. The staff seems happy to work there and most if not all of them smile and make good eye contact. There is also a nice patio that I will try to take advantage of next time in. Check out this establishment next time you're in the area!!!
Review Source:I really want to give this a higher rating but I can't. Instead I'll go over the positives and negatives of the place. First, the positives
-The food was very good. I ordered the Bangers and Mash and it was cooked to perfection.
- Our watiress was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. There was never a time I felt neglected.
- I enjoyed the Sherlock Holmes theme.
- Even while it was busy, I didn't have to wait long for my food.
-It was all reasonably priced
Now for the negatives
- While there is a selection of craft beer, the first two I ordered off the menu they no longer carried. Â
- Instead of checking to see if we wanted another drink after we were done eating, she just brought the bill. I felt pretty rushed.
-The tables were crammed together and it felt like everyone was sitting on top of each other.
-Instead of being taken to an available table, it's open seating so you have to figure out what is open and where. A real pain when it's incredibly busy. Plus it doesn't give the waitress a heads up that you're there
Like I mentioned before, I really WANTED to give this place more stars but the negatives were very off putting to me. I will come back when I'm in the area, because the food was so good, but I really hope they change some of these policies and update their menu.
I would like to give this place 5 stars, because we had a good meal here during our first week as CO residents. The decor hits it on the nail with the English pub feel, and the server was friendly and attentive (once we got a waitress).
What I didn't care for is the height of the ceiling. I know this is a weird thing to care about. But when I think of an English pub, I don't think of an Americanized high ceiling location. I think of low ceilings, dark wood, a lot of decorations, and it feeling old. This place felt too new and too American to really give me the English pub feel.
On some good notes - the food was great, they turned the TV to the Olympics for me since we had no cable at home, and like I mentioned the waitress was nice. We will probably come back unless we find another pub that is more authentic.
I, too, am surprised by the "eh" reviews of Baker Street. Â Particularly this location! Â
I do love their Fish and Chips, and they will absolutely substitute their house-made Crisps (Potato Chips) for Chips (Fries.) Â Score! Â Not greasy at all, fresh fish, crisp, light batter... Noms, Baby!
Their Beer selection, too, is a welcome break from the norm. Â I'm a fan of the Deschutes options, particularly the darker stouts and porters. Â And don't forget their All-Day Happy Hour on Sundays.
In the Belmar Location, you've got the outdoor seating area, complete with fireplaces, heaters, and cushy seats on which to snuggle up with a beer and someone warm 'n cuddly, all while people watching the walkers and skaters and shoppers.
Also, being located in a Walking Mall, there's plenty of space to stumble about and walk off all that beer and those chips. Â
Plus... I can literally walk to and from here from my home. Â (Of course, I don't. Â I drive. Â Because I'm lazy. Â Stop judging.)
Point is: Â Great Fish 'n Chips, Great Beer Selection, Great Atmosphere.
Yay.
We stopped in right before Christmas - odd mid-afternoon time, though the entire Belmar area was hopping with shoppers. Â On entry, I noticed the space was extremely unkempt and dirty - not impressed. Â We were seated at a table that straddled 2 different floor types, thus it wobbled badly. We moved it a few feet over and it was fine. Â After nearly 10 minutes at the table we finally got a waitress to take our drink orders, but she didn't give us any menus. When she came back (another 5+ min) she still didn't have menus, and seemed flustered when asked for a menu? Â She rushed away and came back with them. Â Wow - now we've been in the place for nearly 20 minutes and are finally looking at a menu!.
The waitress was very pleasant all along, and didn't flinch when we told her we were adding 3 to the table. Â She took care of us quickly from that point on and was attentive.
Food, thankfully, was quite good! Â I had the Shepard's Pie and hubby had Fish and Chips. Â I would return just to have the Shepard's Pie again.
All in all a decent experience, but confused as to why the menu was such an issue.
Like a great running back this place is greatly underrated. Â Great pub food and drink specials with good service. Â Lunch is an excellent time to check out Baker Street. Â They have 12 items under $7.. Including half a sandwich and cup of soup or several other options ranging from salads to meatloaf pies to burgers and sandwiches.. Excellent seasoned fries and salt and vinegar chips.. Seriously I'm confused why such mediocre reviews.. I'm a big fan! Â Just a note: I always sit at the bar; not sure if that makes a difference with service but I have consistently had a great experience at the bartop..
Review Source:I have been here quite a few times since it opened and have had up and down service. Â I'm not sure if there is a high turn over rate with servers or what. The times that I have been there for HH was great, we sat in the bar area and the bartender/server was extremely attentive and we didn't have to wait long for anything. Â When I met a friends here on a couple of different occasions and sat at a table and the service was so-so. Â The last time I was here was for lunch and we sat on the patio (in NOVEMBER) and the service & server were great. Â She was kind of sassy (in a fun way) she gave my cousin a hard time that had all of us laughing.
As I have been here a number of times, and I am sure that I will be back again at some point.
Might be the worst bar in town to watch sporting events which is a shame because of the good $2 bloody Mary bar on Sundays. Â I can't understand for the life of me why this place doesn't get HD on their TV's for people that care about watching football while they eat and drink. Â The food is actually pretty good and priced low, but the atmosphere during game days is terrible. Â WORST TV's I've seen a bar. Â The manager really needs to have some better business sense and people skills.
Review Source:My favorite thing about this place is the atmospere and the British fare available on the menu. I have been here for happy hour, dinner and one Monday night to watch a Bronco game when we couldn't get in to Bdubs because they were too packed.
Happy hour is priced average to other chain restaurants. I like the happy hour menu items with fish and chips being what I usually order. I have had the steak which is pretty good.
It's not a bad alternative to watch a game either. They have one really big screen on the wall and the dining room is set up in such a way that everyone gets a good view. I was at first bummed we had to watch the game here but the place filled up with people and not too long after, everyone was cheering and really into the game.
I will definitely keep coming back!
I've been living in the Belmar area for almost three years now and I've been going to Baker St. for just as long.
I used to stop by for a quick lunch while on break from work, and as of February when I turned 21, it's where I stop for a drink on my way home from work.
This bar is by no means perfect but it's definitely worth 4 stars in my book.
In order to fully enjoy a visit here you need to know when to go and what to drink. Like every bar, it has it's pros and cons.
Pros:
-Great bar food: I wouldn't  recommend Bakers if you're looking for a fresh and healthy gourmet meal, but as far as greasy carbolicious fried food goes, bakers has it down pat. I've tried almost everything on the menu, my favorites are : Fish & chips, sweet potato fries, and jalapeño macaroni poppers.
-Service: it can take a bit to get a bar tender or server to get to you on the weekends due to how busy it can get. But they are friendly, fast, and will actually hang out a lot after their shift so if you're a regular you can have a lot of fun chatting and drinking with them. Liz is fabulous.
- Happy hour. Happy hour is 2-9pm which is longer than most bars, they have $2.50-$5 drafts, well drinks, and wine. You can also upgrade to 23oz drafts at no extra cost during happy hour.
- Live music: they have cover bands on most nights which are actually pretty good, two 80's themed bands that are great, play often. Tuesdays at 9pm are trivia night where you can win up to $100 in gift cards or cash and/or pint glasses.
- The regulars: if you live or work in the Belmar area this bar can become your personal "Cheers" pretty quickly, on any given day I'll run into friends here or meet fun new people, the fireplace on the patio is a favorite hang out spot.
However, as with every bar, there are also cons.
The cons:
- Pool tables: there's only one pool table so it can be hard to get a chance at it when it's busy. It also costs $1 instead of the usual 75cents.
- Prices: it can be a bit more costly than most dive bars or pool halls if you go after happy hour is over. But it's still cheaper than most bars in downtown Denver.
-No jukebox: Just hope the cover band is good cause besides that you'll end up hearing top40 songs from their radio all night whether you like it or not.
All in all it's a great, fun bar to go to if you live in or happen to be in the area a lot. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to drive here if it's not close but I love the fact that it is.
PS. Doug the bouncer/bar-back is awesome sauce. Seriously chat with him, he's hilarious.
Okay... so I'my giving it 5 stars for my shepherds pie ALONE. Â Most amazing shepherds pie that I've ever had in my entire 27 years of life!!! It had melted cheese, mixed with big sliced tomato and ground sirloin.. i have no idea what else what under that pile of mashed potatoes but it was the most delicious thing EVER. The greens beans on the side were perfect as well. Â
Must try!
My dad, my son, and I decided to try out Baker Street one Saturday afternoon. The hostess sat us, but didn't include a kid's menu. She did come back about 5 minutes after, which worked out okay. Our server was nice, although she didn't check on us as often as we needed, so we had to wait for refills and other requests. I had a burger, which was all right. My son was refusing to eat his chicken, so I ate part of it myself. It was pretty good, and I would have rather had that than my burger. The ranch was pretty good.
I liked the Sherlock Holmes themed room we were in, but there were too many tables crammed in there, so it made for a tight fit when more people came in to eat there. I don't think we'll make a special trip to come back, but we won't avoid the place, either.
This place has potential, but the food is very average, cliche bar food. I'm sure it all comes frozen from a food supplier.
The service was slow, bad, and kind of snotty. We asked for an outside seat and the 19 year old girl copped an attitude and told us there was an hour wait. There were 2 tables open, and we didn't notice anyone waiting. We took an inside table and those 2 outside tables remained empty for 30 minutes. Not sure what's up with that.
We ordered two appetizers, and only one came out. The waitress disappeared for so long that we were ready to leave. We told her the other one never came out, and she said she didn't know we ordered the other appetizer. She went and got it (hummus plate). It was ok. The veggies were good.
The beer selection is great, and it has terrific atmosphere. The food and service are very much lacking though. The comparison to Bennigan's that somebody made is dead-on.
On a warm spring day, this is a great places to go for a patio drink and some food. Â Service is average, the food wasn't bad. Â The fish and chips were pretty good. Â The mojito that came from the bar with craptastic.
So, all-in-all, maybe enjoy a beer (can't screw that up!) and some basic bar appetizers on the patio here.
We decided to go to a movie at Belmar and only had an hour until showtime so we opted for Baker Street since it was right there.
You know it's bad when you are looking at the menu and trying to select what will be the least disappointing of the selections. I opted for the Pulled Pork Sandwich and Sweet Potato fries. I ate it, it was food. Service wasn't great, but it wasn't horrible. Â
There are better choices in Belmar.
It does its job - pretty average corporate place. Â The food is all passable, but predictably Cisco-oriented fare. Â
Prices are good during happy hour and they often have good open mic/local bands playing at night. Â
Service is rarely better than average but somehow I've always managed to have a good time when I've hung out there.
Seems a bit inconsistent, but with a crack of the whip it could be a really great place - I feel like they know they don't really have any competition around there and they put in a commensurate amount of effort.
This is a very fun pub with a good selection of beer and british pub faire. Service is great and the restaurant is very attractive. All of the beer is really tasty and they have a great happy hour for cheaper draught beer ($2.50 domestics and $1 off all others).
However, the restaurant is always over crowded and its hard to move around. The food is OK, but I would expect better fish and chips from a British Pub. I do admit that my pub standards are pretty high after pub crawling in London and going to as many as I can in the states. I found the fish tasteless and the chips were nothing to write home about. Overall, the food was OK.
If you're in the Belmar area, try it out. Otherwise, nothing to come to from miles around.
I'm starting to wonder if I just don't have the taste buds for British food, or if the pubs I've been to are just pretty boring. Â
I had bangers and mash, and they were decent. Â But they were just two sausages on top of mashed potatoes, and I didn't think either component was something worth writing home about. Â The sausage was a little sweet and the potatoes were salty, which made them work well together. Â But I could have made some instant mashed potatoes and some chicken sausage at home and it would have been just as good or better.
Tanya had the mozzarella cheese and tomato salad and it was also solid. Â The dressing was tasty and the little cheese balls were nice. Â
So it's three star food. Â Nothing you'll remember the next day, but nothing you'll regret later that night. Â The service, though, seemed disinterested and annoyed. Â We were in kind of a hurry, because I had a concert to go to, so we had to grab the waitress a couple of times to get our order in and get our bill, and she made me feel like we were interrupting her private meditation time. Â
I don't really see any reason to head back any time soon, but I won't adamantly oppose it if for some reason others want to try it.
For some reason I can't figure out how to describe this place. Â It's as if someone took the idea of a nostalgic Irish pub, took out the authenticity, and filled it with Bennigan's style crap. Â
The Good:
- My bangers and mash were decent. Â The gravy was over salted, and the sausages were a bit too much like breakfast links (in taste), but as an overall dish I wasn't disappointed.
- Decent beer selection.
The Lame:
- The D-Bags littering this place. Â I was shocked at how many idiots were around. Â There were a lot of "Bro, _________." statements (insert comment about female anatomy, binge drinking, bros before hoes, etc). Â *sigh*
I hear they have live music on the weekend, and later days during the week. Â Depending on the quality of the music and the volume, that might raise them to three stars, or quickly drop them to one. Â
Either way, probably won't be back anytime soon.
I love their fish and chips; it's something about how they flavor it, it's very good. Â The theme is Sherlock Holmes for the most part, for those Yelpers that were confused during their visit, and with a dash of a British pub as best that an American can do. Â I've never had bad service here, and I hope not to experience that. Â I had the potato soup on my second visit and wasn't that impressed with it. Â My boyfriend makes a better potato soup honestly, but I don't let this one thing taint my overall experience. Â I've never been carded at the door and then again when I ordered drinks. Â I've never had to wait a long time to be seated either. Â I guess that I've just been lucky with my visits and hope that continues. Â I highly recommend this place to those that have never been. Â
Common Sense Tip: Â If you don't like crowds, don't go to a place when you know there will be a lot of people.
I've been coming to this pub for almost 4 or 5 years now. It's my neighborhood bar, chain or not.
In my first review I was a bit scathing about the inconsistency, and that has gone through some ups and downs and landed on pretty damn good. I know this may sound like blasphemy but I prefer their Fish and Chips to GB's... in both taste and value. Their buffalo chicken sandwich is excellent and they have arguably the best happy hour in town.
Their dedication to live music has been one of the hallmarks of my near constant patronage. And where they use to churn through waitresses, there has been a pretty constant crew for almost a year now. I think they've hit their stride and I almost feel bad about the crack I made about my dead grandfather being faster. Almost... it still makes me smile.
I figure any place I go to week after week for 4 or 5 years deserved an updated... and better review.
I've been to Belmar many times, but until last night I didn't even know Baker Street Pub was here. Â I don't think it's as bad as most of the reviews make it sound, but it's definitely nothing special.
The vibe is confused-- are they themed? Â Are they a restaurant? Â Are they a bar? Â I don't know. Â Service was kind of strange. Â Our server didn't give us a chance to look at the drink menu before impatiently saying "I'll go get you water while you make up your mind.". She had to be prompted to explain happy hour and that we had bread and side options for our sandwiches. Â I'm also confused as to why we got carded at the door and when we ordered our drinks.
As far as food goes, I won't complain too much. Â I (and my friend's husband) had the turkey avocado club sandwich. Â The turkey and ham weren't as flavorful as you'd hope for, but anytime you put bacon and avocado on a sandwich you're guaranteed to be successful, and they were generous with both key ingredients. Â The chips that came with the sandwich were delicious, although it was strange we weren't given fries as an option like the menu stated. Â My friend had the chicken salad with grapes, and said it was fine.
Both the food and drink menus have a lot of variety and the location is good, but I don't know that I'd go out of my way to come back.
We must've come on a good night, because our waitress was pleasant and the food and drink came out quick and fresh.
We're new to the area and Baker St. is a little slice of home for us- great ambiance, good food, excellent Happy Hour deals as mentioned. Â My boyfriend got a Das Boot size nut-brown ale for $3.75 - hell yeah. Â I was shocked that they had a Grey Goose martini for under 8 bucks -- guess I'm used to paying DC prices but wow, awesome.
I ordered the Sheperd's Pie which seemed to be a great deal at $8.99 - it was seasoned beautifully and I "mmm'ed" at every bite. Â The boy is a "reuben connoisseur " and ordered one; to which he mumbled between mouthfuls "I think this is one of the best reuben's I've ever had!" Â We enjoyed the outdoor seating on a crisp fall night, they even had a little fireplace going.. we may return with our muppet of a dog- goldendoodle Enzo- as it appeared they were cool with people tying their pups on the outside of the fence that surrounded the patio tables.
We finished up with a couple drinks inside at the bar.. and as we were leaving we almost couldn't believe our luck - there's a game room tucked away in the corner with... OH MY GOD ... GOLDEN TEE. Â Sit me down in a good bar with some decently priced drinks and a GT machine and I'll probably be there all night. Â We've just found our go-to place for great Happy Hours, meat pie craving satisfaction and golden tee excellence. Â Thanks Baker Street!!!
Cool atmosphere, friendly staff, typically great bands playing on the weekends, sub-par food, and fairly expensive drinks sum up this three star review.
I have been here so many times I can't count, but more out of convenience and to watch my friends band play, than out of real interest. Their HH is a good time and you can get some good deals and the patio is always a nice option to have in the summer.
I'm sure I'll be back when I come to Lakewood to visit soon, but it's not the first place on my list nor the last.
During a birthday celebration dinner on Saturday night my table overheard a manager call a group of girls in the ladies room bi**hes.
We asked to speak with the general manager, who was even more horrible. He admitted it happened and said that's how people in the restaurant industry 'talk shop.'
This behavior is unacceptable & should not be tolerated. Our group of friends will never go back to Baker Street Pub & Grill- which in sad for us since my husband works around the corner and we were semi-regulars.
My husband and I were in the mood for a good burger and being that Baker Street is close by we decided to check it out. Big mistake.
First off, when we walked in no one even acknowledged us for at least 5 minutes, then finally someone waved to the dining room and told us it was "seat yourself." Really? I thought that was just for outdoor seating - like first come, first serve on the patio? I Â mean why should a restaurant have to be bothered with actually seating their customers?!
We selected a table ordered a couple of beers and perused the menu. They have a good selection of various types of burgers, so I ordered one which sounded quite good: a burger with  guacamole, pepperjack, onion strings and ranch...I was sorely disappointed. The burger was dry and tasteless - NOT what I'd been looking forward to. Seriously, how do you screw up a burger?
My husband ordered the two kinds of tacos and when I asked how they were his response was "eh." As we were walking around later, he turned to me and said, "That food was terrible! We are never eating there again." Agreed.
So, if you're looking for good pub fare or hospitality, skip this place. And, if you're in the mood for a burger, save yourself the money and the tip and hit the drive-thru...Wendy's would be a better choice.
Have the urge to get ripped off on drinks and also get the worst service possible from servers as well as the manager? Go to Baker Street Pub.
The pub was plastered with flyers of an all day happy hour on Sundays. So that's what we ordered, three rounds of pitchers that should have cost roughly $16 each round. Everyone got charged $27 each round, and were too slap happy to realize it until they got home.
So I call the manager, Kyle. He tells me "No, we don't have happy hour this Sunday due to holidays, there's a flyer posted outside but I don't think anyone can actually read it." Okay. So I say, "We were under the impression that these drinks were at the happy hour price.." [waiting for him to take some action and improve his business image] Nothing happens.
He says, "Okay, is that all I can help you with?" And then the phone call ends. No rush to try to offer a discount, adjust charges to accommodate the misunderstanding. nothing. Did this guy actually take any class in customer service or service management for that matter?
Or did everyone in this joint literally take the Sherlock path and get too coked up to care?
Not only that, our never-showed-up-until-we-ordered-drinks-from-the-Âbar server Angela charged me extra for a normal drink. The only drink I actually managed to order from that useless individual. I literally wrote, "THE STARBURST IS 6.50, NOT 6.75" on my check. Slipped in the Yelp card and watched her take it away.
Not only does she fail to rectify the situation, she walks out after her shift giving me a horrible glare. Nice customer service. If you can't handle your job, go back to high school and get your GED.
I'd stay away from this place, every single day of the week.
I can't tell you a story that gets much more terrible than this.
Well, I've visited Baker Street about ten times. Â And each time I swear I'm not going back. Â When I do find myself bellying up to the bar, or grabbing a table on the patio, my thoughts immediately drift to their "authentic" British menu. Â They have these sausages rolled in filo dough, served with pickles and spicy mustard for dipping. Â And they're amazing. Â I stick with tap beer and shots because I've had bad experiences with the mixed drinks. Â The bartenders are usually cool but the servers seem to be just a little smarter than a pile of rocks. Â
They do have a kick-ass patio, though, and on those summer nights when it gets a bit chilly, they have a fire to sit by. Â And the live music? Â Is usually too loud and obnoxious.
I really wanted to have a good time, but for all the effort I put in, Baker Street just wouldn't cooperate. My gut told me that I shouldn't go to a "Sherlock Holmes Themed" bar, but I decided to give it a try.
We entered and got a round fairly quick so I was willing to forgive the vague theme, but then things started getting weird. A live band started to play which is usually enjoyable, but they proceeded to butcher some of my favorite songs. "Ok, they have good taste even if they aren't very good" I thought to myself. Then the giant started to loom...
The bouncer was easily 7 feet tall, and proceeded to walk circles around the bar all night staring at everyone, which was very ominous. Overall, there was just too much about this place that didn't work for me.
Oh yeah, and their drinks are 95% water.
