Quiero Arepas

Had two awesome arepas today. I've tried to make them myself, and I was chatting up main man about the the flour he uses (Harina PAN) and how I have a hard time finding it, and he gave me a bag on the house. That was rad, and the food was tops, as always.

LOVE.  Great vegetarian and vegan options.  I try to find out where they are, hope they're at a tap room, and go!

The only two things I've tried (since I don't eat meat) are the Original: sweet plantains, black beans, and avocado, and the Domino: black beans and cheese.  The arepas always seem a little small when I first get it in my hands, but they're so filling; it's the perfect size for me.  And sometimes, if I just want a snack, I split it with a friend.  Very authentic cuisine.  So tasty!

I am currently crazy for the gorgeous honogos: sauteed mushrooms in a light tomato sauce with the tangy background flavors of the awesome guasecaca.  Meltingly perfect in the crisp-fluffy arepa, though definitely very messy.  Get extra napkins.
