I had lunch  here a few days ago and sat at the bar because the place was packed.  It was fun to watch the guy put sushi together, but I was disappointed in my appetizer of veggie tempura.  The outside batter was crispy even though it had gotten cold and the inside vegies were very bland.  the udon noodle dish was only ok.  The staff is friendly and happy.
Review Source:This was our third visit for lunch using a $20 Google Offers coupon. Â We discovered 2 free parking spaces marked for Sushi Tazu in the lot behind the restaurant. Â It was in the 50's today and people were dining in the enclosed patio area. Â We dined inside.
We ordered the Spider Roll, California Roll, and the Philadelphia Roll. Â I was disappointed that we did not get the complimentary seaweed salad on this visit. Â I guess it depends on the server.
The Spider Roll came out first on a small plate without any wasabi or ginger. Â My husband would not start eating until he got wasabi and the server was no where to be found. The 5 pieces were more than bite-sized with seaweed on the outside. Â Lettuce and daikon sprouts were sticking out which made the roll visually appealing. Â The soft shell crab was crisp and not gritty. Â There was even tobiko on the inside.
The server brought the California Roll and the Philadelphia Roll out on a plate with the wasabi and ginger and a garnish of lemon slice. Â Now my husband could start eating.
The California Roll had tobiko on the outside. Â The 8 pieces were bite-sized. Â The fillings were generous and there wasn't too much rice.
The Philadelphia Roll wasn't as good as last time, but still good. Â This roll also had tobiko on the inside and sesame seeds on the outside.
The server brought us complimentary sliced oranges for dessert and finally a refill of water. Â No complimentary green tea ice cream this time or last time. Â I would order all 3 rolls again.
