I really want to give this place a 3. My drink (the Mason Dixon) was super tasty and the bartender was fast, nice, and welcoming on a busy night. However, the bf had a seriously skunky beer. Not only did it smell bad but it tasted bad as well. So I had to dock a star for flagrant beer abuse.
I will go back and (hopefully) upgrade my rating at a later date.
Let me start by stating that I haven't had to pay out of my own pocket to eat here. Been here about 5 times in the last couple of years and was in the area for business, which means a company expensed meal, so, I can't judge this place on price alone. All i can say is that you get a lot with less money here. Quality in the food is lacking, but that should be expected at a place named Bar Louie. Â I've only had their burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, and a few appetizers. The food is cheap and you basically get what you pay for. Their burgers and fries are just okay. I thought that their chicken sandwich was pretty good for a bar that specializes in appetizers. Â I could swear I had a really good Mac and Cheese from here in the past, but couldn't find it on the menu. Â
As for their service, I thought they were great. I guess it depends on how busy they are and who's working. I had slow service before, but my most recent visits were pretty good.
Never again. My friends and I sat ourselves since there was a sign that said "Seat yourselves". There were MANY empty booths. We went around lunchtime. We waited for our waiter to come (about 15 minutes). He seemed very uneasy and strange, but we gave him our drink order..... and that was the last we saw him. We sat there for 20 minutes and couldn't find him. What really topped it off was the appetizer plates that they have already sitting on the tables.... we unstacked them and there was a green substance on the plates... like someone took green gum and smashed it on them.... it was disgusting. We left. I never will go to another Bar Louie. That was my first and last time! The restaurant has a cool look about it...but it's just dirty.
Review Source:The drinks here are wwwaaayyyyy too expensive. And, if you don't think I see the way your pint glasses taper in at the bottom, which makes the cup hold LESS liquid, you're nuts.
The food isn't good and it isn't bad. I'd rather have the food than the drinks.
The permanent smell of Abercrombie & Fitch from downstairs is filtered into Bar Louie. Gross.
With that said, I won't come back here.
so i dropped by this spot cause it was to wet outside for me to shop. Â Every bar louie is go to, the beer is never cold enough for me and people do not understand how important that is......I love the way the establishment looks dont get me wrong. The wait staff is always hot but the beer is not cold enough.
Review Source:Happy hour is ok. Â The food is ok.
One bar tender was great, the other was a PITA.
Food really isn't overpriced compared to short north places or other venues at easton. Â Most plate run between $9-$14. Â It's just the quality, presentation, and general attitude kind of sucks.
It is what it is?
UGH. I had an awesome time here, but no thanks to Bar Louie. I went with a friend for a Colors & Bottles event and we had a blast. Too bad the bartender was crazy rude, the drinks were overpriced, and the floors were so sticky I could hear EVERY step each person made. I tried the $9 mojito, and it was good, but not worth the money. I think next time we'll find the Colors & Bottles somewhere else!
Review Source:Bar Louie is my favorite inside Easton Mall hang out . I like the dark wood at the bar. It feels grown up. The drinks are pricey, but you're paying to hang out at the mall and drink.
Ive never really eaten anything but a burger, so I really cant comment much on the food. Beer selection was okay. Drinks weren't bad. I will admit that I only get excited when I am getting a cheap burger to offset the drink prices. But when faced with Adobe and whatever they are currently calling Gameworks as options, Id go with Bar Louie if your trying to preserve your image.
Well, alright I'll start with the positive side of Bar Louie. They have a full bar and good drinks. They also have a nice deck. And, well, I guess that's it.
As for the rest of Bar Louie, OUCH!
I got kinda dragged here once by my ex-girlfriend while we were still dating. She told me it was a nice place with good burgers and good service. She also told me that we could have a nice, quiet dinner. Boy was I in for a surprise!
Bar Louie had none of the above! Bar Louie was loud, with an awful band playing at the time. Their food was really not so hot, as for the burgers, mine was undercooked. Bar Louie was also full of girls trying to pick up single guys. I am a guy, but I was not single at the time. Still, they tried. Even the waitresses tried. I felt like I was at Hooters!
I'm not a huge fan of Easton restaurants either. Parking is awful and usually the price is high. It was through the roof at Bar Louie.
I'm not planning a return visit. Ever.
Meh. I have mixed feelings about Bar Louie. The biggest problem I have is how overpriced it is. It's your typical after hours young professional crowd- however it seems to be the frat boy young professional crowd- I'm avoiding using other terms for these people... but it's generally the initials "DB" how I'd actually describe them. They all come there to hit on the skanky waitresses showing off their boobs in tight tank tops. If that's your thing... by all means!
The food is mediocre. It's fine for bar food or a quick appetizer but other than that, and especially for the price, it leaves little to be desired. I think Smithersby t. describes it well "The food is all right, but I guess when you compare it to that sinkhole Adobe Gila's nextdoor, it looks pretty classy. "
Drinks are another thing- I'm a martini girl and unless I get here during happy hour ($5 martinis til 7 on weekdays) they are really pricey and usually half full. Beer selection is meh as well ($3 for a glass during happy hour.) I will note that they were the first place I noticed to have tapped GLBC Christmas Ale on November 4th- so that's a plus for most people I guess.
Service can depend. It's not bad, but it's not great. It really depends on how busy they are.
Bottom line- if you want a quick happy hour with a drink and an appetizer, I'd say this place isn't horrible. But if you are looking for something great, try somewhere else.
I am now officially anti-Bar Louie. What is with this chain that they cannot serve a decent drink? It's got BAR in the title.
I asked for a fruity, "girly" drink with some alcohol, and instead I got a recommendation that might as well have had vodka, a slice of death and roofies in it! It was entirely too strong.
The food is all right, but I guess when you compare it to that sinkhole Adobe Gila's nextdoor, it looks pretty classy.
Sucks...i couldn't get three bartenders to even look my way after flagging them for 10 minutes... Had to roll! Â Guess you need to get a table! Â Bar was packed but there were plenty of tables... And with the outdoor events daily, this whole area is packed this week. Â I'm done with Easton right now ... No mas... They can't handle the rush and the parking sucks too bad for this business traveler!
Review Source:Okay, let's start with the positives:
They have cider on tap. And they have half-off appetizers. And it's not as douchey as some place like Brothers. And, um, that's it.
As for the downfalls:
Look, Bar Louie just isn't my scene. I'm not a straight dude or one of the girls trying to land a straight dude. And I hate Easton. So, Bar Louie really can't win in my book. But every once in a while I get dragged here after work, and it doesn't totally suck.
Never again will I go to Bar Louie. Here's why.
Some friends and I once stopped here for some drinks. Someone one of my friends knows is apparently a bartender here. She paid(my friend) for the couple of drinks that the four of us altogether had(not all of us were drinking). But the manager didn't tell us that. According to him when everyone else went to pay their bill, that he had taken care of, as in COMPED our drinks. So everyone else left a fat tip.
It turns out, that the drinks were NOT comped, my friend paid for them and tipped on top of that, and so the manager pocketed the TIP that was meant for the bartender in the first place.
I can't stand sheisty-ness. There's a million other better(AND CHEAPER)places to go for small plates or drinks.
On a regular night here, you can grab some great half-price appetizers. The place is big, is great for meeting up large parties of friends, and has a smoking patio overlooking easton mall. I love getting the calamari, and the hummas apps.
The downfall, however, is coming in on a regular night. My friend and I showed up on a Wednesday night, and sat at the only open high top across from the bar. Now, normally, the place is full service dining. Tonight, we were not so lucky and had no one greet us for close to ten minutes. We decided to just sit at the bar instead. Still no luck, the bartender just ignored us and the 20 we had sitting in front of us, waiting to be spent. FINALLY, a male bartender came and got us drinks. I gave him the 20 to pay for the first round, and my friend joked that I'd only get 2 dollars back. She was wrong. I got 3 dollars back.... from two mixed drinks! Blahhhhhh is all I can say to that.
I'll be back, but only before happy hour ends.
So my limited experience with the appetizers are seriously tempting me to go for a 4 star, but then I hear horror stories of $5 Coors Light... That makes me want to do a 2 star...
Maybe Sunday night is a good time to visit this place in general. Definitely wasn't an obnoxious place. Got the Jalapeno Corn Dogs and Chorizo Quesadilla both were pretty DAMN AWESOME! Both the batter and the dog itself had bits and piece of Jalapenos infused in and the tomato based dipping sauce just had enough heat to carry the flavor through.
The Chorizo.... what can I say? What doesn't Chorizo taste good with?
The food at Bar Louie is decent, but nothing to get excited about. I have eaten here on a couple of different occasions and the result of the food and service was the same, OK. Easton offers too many other options that are A+ if you are looking for great atmosphere, food and drink. I would recommend Bar Louie for those looking to get the night started, or ending with a  nightcap, but nothing more. Try the chicken nachos for an app while enjoying your overpriced beer :)
Review Source:2.5 stars really. I think there was a reason it was one of the only places without a wait at lunchtime on a Saturday.
1) overpriced drinks. $5 for a bottle of Landshark. WTF?!?!
2) Totally mediocre food that sounds really yummy on the menu and then you get it and it's not so great. (undercooked tots, overcooked eggs, missing sauce.)
3) Slow service, she meant well, but....
Plus factor-our guests really enjoyed themselves and they got a surprise order of the pretzel sticks for being first timers. That being said, the pretzel stick I got was cold....
The only reason I come here is because it is close to my work and thus, a convenient happy hour location.
Bar Louie is your standard chain bar.
First....ladies....PLEASE PUT ON SOME DAMN CLOTHES. I cannot tell you how many breasts and butt cheeks I have seen from the wait staff. If I were male, maybe I'd appreciate this, but I don't. Cover yourselves up, for Christ's sake!
Second, the drinks are overpriced, the wine list is pretty shabby, and the food is mediocre. The happy hour "special" for drinks isn't really that good, but it's not too bad for food. I will never complain about half priced appetizers.
I really like that they have a balcony. It earns them another half star.
Maybe I'm just not "hip" enough for Bar Louie
I came in one night, sat at the bar and waited so long for anyone to help me that I just left and went somewhere else. It's pretty bad when ABSOLUTELY NO ONE will help you.
so, I can't really review the food, since I didn't get a chance to eat anything and I can't review the drinks, because again, didn't get the chance.
I never give a restaurant another chance when this happens- I give concessions if they are busy, etc.. but they weren't busy. I Â know the difference.
I have been here many times ordering take out as well as eating in and I must say I am not impressed whatsoever. The way they set take out up you may as well have cooked the food yourself as they separate ALL the toppings and extras for the nachos and the salads, etc. When I went in, while the atmosphere is nice in the short north one, I do not like the service, and I did not like ANYTHING about the Easton one in the times I have been there. The service was awful, the burger was bland and when I asked for cajun seasoning they brought it to me on the side! Nothing has stood out to me over there as good and I am normally an easy reviewer, but the past four times I have been to either location have not been good experiences.
Review Source:I've been here several times over the past couple of years and can't say I've ever been impressed with it. Â There are other places within Easton where I'd rather go and hang out. Â
The food is mediocre and we've had to send food back for being so unappetizing. Â I've only been to it as a Bar once and only long enough for 1 drink before moving on.
There's nothing that really strikes me as being wrong with it, its just there's nothing that really strikes me as being good with it.
Bar Louie was the place to go for lunch/dinnner when I first moved to Columbus. The restaurant is good for both big parties and for intimate dates. However, the food is just alright... other than their chicken nachos (OMG, I've been obsessed since Day 1) and their pretzel sticks. Those two items are absolutely fantastic!
I also tried a lot of their very eclectic menu like their Luigi sandwich, their loaded fries, spinach artichoke dip, the Reuben, the salads, etc. etc. However, they were all pretty much blase and completely forgettable. Actually, most of the other items in the menu just weren't that good.
There are a couple of things about this place that really bothers me. Firstly, the tables and the chairs often seem sticky and dirty. Sometimes, the tables have that nasty rag smell-- it's kind of a turn off right before a meal. And, the other thing is, they run out of things... when I tried to order their pretzel sticks, on two different occasions, I was told that they didn't have it. I have a very low threshold for restaurants who don't have what they should have since well, it is printed on the menu!
The restaurant is at a convenient location... in Easton... their drinks are pretty good... and it has a couple of items I would always order so I would go back but there is definitely much room for improvement.
Okay, so it's a trendy bar in an even trendier mall. Get over it. Arrive early on a nice day and you can sit on the patio outside which has a nice view of the mall. Though, it's basically above A&F so the lingering smell of overpriced men's cologne is mildly annoying. Oh and the service outside sucks. So, why does it get a 5 star rating? Because the atmosphere is great. It's supposed to be ridiculously chic but it's not. The circular booths have rips and tears which  on principal alone allow you to walk in wearing a beat up shirt and tattered jeans unintentionally. Are there ridiculously dressed women looking for their white knights? Always. Do they put a little more vodka in your drink? Usually. Fair prices and great opportunities for people watching make this the place to go with friends who love to laugh. Try the dirty CEO with the boneless wings and tater tots.
Review Source:I cannot review the drinks or food because the service was so fucking bad we left before we got either.  When we got there, it was about 2 and the place was almost completely empty.  We sat outside and our server came out and asked what we wanted.  We asked for some waters while we looked over the drink menu.  She rolled her eyes and left.  Now, I have tons of friends who work restaurant and I am the most patient person with servers I know.  I figured she was just having a rough day.  We got our waters in a decent amount of time and ordered our drinks.  Ten minutes go by, fifteen, and then twenty.  At this point, instead of making a fuss, we decided to leave.  As we are leaving, the server comes up and tell us that they are "mixing our drinks right now" and that we could just sit back down.  We told her no thanks and she continued to hound us through the restaurant.  We still left.  I could  understand if A. they were packed or B. she had even thought to come and tell us it would be a minute.  So we went over to Adobe Gila's, had a great server and a good time.
Review Source:I was out with friends and Bar Louie's was the chosen spot. Â This isn't really my scene...but when in Roman. Â They have an okay selection of wines and martini's. I had the mini sliders, I'm a white castle lover so I missed the excess of onions and the smell of a true slider but all together it wasn't a hateful ordeal. Â The bar features a patio and seating which follows the curvature of the bar's windows offering prime people watching real estate...those coming into the bar or those outside walking about Easton.
Review Source:My chicken sandwich and fries was actually pretty good, (especially for Ohio.)
The waitress was pleasant, but kept forgetting things.
Other dishes at the table were not enjoyed, (i.e. the burger was BAD!)
Luckily, I don't live in C-town,but if i came back and someone wanted to go here, I'd be fine with it.
I had a late lunch here on a rainy Sat. Â I'd eaten here a few years ago, Â but the several martinis I drank had blotted most of the memories out of that evening.
The nice young lady that served us was pleasant enough, but she kept forgetting drinks. We had to ask 3 times for an iced tea, and I had to ask for refills on my soda.
Everyone else seemed at least OK with their food, and the Vesuvio chicken sandwich  looked pretty good, but the burger I ordered seemed a little thin for the price and was quite well done, not the medium I requested.
I'd give this a 2.5, but I'm rounding down due to the mediocre service.
*Second story patio which overlooks the whole town center.
*Happy hour with cheap appetizers and drinks which seemed to go on forever.
I came here as my first stop after checking into the Hilton on a recent business trip to Columbus. It was about 5:00 in the afternoon, and the group I was with wanted to start partying right away; about six of us to start. Perfect time for happy hour!
Having business expense accounts, we spared no expense and ordered just about one of everything. It was all good. Appetizers, $1 hamburgers, fish tacos, etc.
The bar service was slow at first, so I started ordering drinks two at a time, and by the time they came I was ready to order another two.
By the time everyone was ready to leave, my group had taken up all the tables on the outside and everyone was feeling real good.
Then the check came. Everyone was worried about how much it was going to be and how we were going to explain it when we filled out our reimbursement forms the next week... It wasn't bad at all, but I don't think our waitress charged us for everything. Score!
