very cool place, man; very cool.

we finally got around to visiting the illustrious Brothers Drake. i have had the mead on numerous occasions but never frequented their establishment.

it was a really awesome experience.  the bartenders were all so cute and well dressed (no spandex or bootyshorts for these lady bartenders haha).  and they were all extraordinarily kind and helpful.  we had so many questions and they were all very patient and attentive.  we ended up ordering a mead sampler, two fruity cocktails (forget the name but it was orange and DELICIOUS!) and a beer.  By the end, we couldn't finish the beer and the bartender took it off of our tab (awwwesome!).

gosh, i loved it here.  AND-- the SBB (small business beanstalk) card gets you a couple dollars off the sampler price (yippee).

we probably got there around 7ish and were able to snag some seats.  An hour or so later, it got crazy in there-- people everywhere.  so if you'd like to avoid crowds, maybe go before 8.

    go here! now! do it!

Brother's Drake is the shit and will be the new swag when it comes to summertime especially. Went Saturday night and it was really amazing.

The atmosphere was phenomenal with one side being well lit and the other side dimly lit with candles/seating. They have a garage door that is the main entrance and will be awesome for summer winds. Patio outside is small but a killer gathering spot.

Let's talk about technology on tabs folks. They've got touchscreen-iPad-ish-thingamajigs that are fast, quick, and hold your tab accurately. It's amazing!

They have their brewed beers, special drinks/shots and, of course, mead. They also have a food truck on the side that I didn't get to try but sounded delicious.

Honestly, I'm already craving to go back. Seriously. Might need to happen even this week already. Between here and Old Town Tavern, I've found two spots that have hit me hard-in a good way. :)

You've got to love the Drake!  How could you not love the Drake?  Everybody loves the Drake!

Brothers Drake, located on the NE corner of Fifth and High is hipster garage bar specializing in mead, local spirits, music, and some pretty tasty Japanese food truck morsels to keep you going.

Mead, a wine derived from local honey, malt, and yeast,  is produced right on the premises.  There are several varieties to choose, and all are quite nice and interesting.

As previously alluded to, the structure appears to have been an automotive garage. Now, it has been remade in industrial modern styling, mixing concrete, steel, and fabric to form a great backdrop to accommodate the extensive art offerings on display. The garage doors open to an outside patio too. Overall, this is a very cool space!

If you are a hipster, or even a hipster doofus, sorry about that,  or just someone looking for a refreshing change to some of the stale offerings elsewhere, Brothers Drake should be on your radar.
