Keep in mind this review is based on a 1-hour visit for a Mid-Ohio Foodbank fundraiser.
MoJoe Lounge is part of The CAP area of the Short North, the southern portion of what is in this humble YELP'rs view, the best walk & shop avenue in all of Central Ohio. Â MoJoe offers casualness that nearby Sushi Rock and Hyde Park Steakhouse can't so come as you are and feel good about relaxin'.
Parking is complicated. In fact, there really isn't any to speak of. Â I've always had success parking on Goodale past the Greek Orthodox church. Â Driving 'round in circles block by block might take you 3 trips before finding a meter. Â Parallel parking skills required.
MoJoe's seating, both bar stools and table, is good. Â Spacing is fine with tables that are mostly 4-tops, short and tall. Â The bar seats maybe 16 people. Â My night was filled with lots of chit chat sound, the volume medium to noisy, but it was expected. Â The drinks are mid to pricey but the bartenders my night poured in semi-heavy handed way (one was our beloved Christina of YELP; nice work Blondie!!).
The menu was diverse. Â My order? Â One app and a side salad. Â The app was Mac 'n Cheese with grilled chicken stirred in. Â The boat-like bowl serving up the Mac was deep and wide, enough for 2 people, and the dish was hotterin' hot. Â The Mac was bubbling like a Ruth Chris' steak! Â Good work MoJoe! Â The side salad came with house dressing and was perfect size. Â
Because there is a Cup O' Joe's attached - sharing - this makes for a nice oasis if you're walking north to south on High Street. Â There is a good ambiance at MoJoe's - I feel they're worth another visit... and your visit, too.
I've been here several times - Yelp events, meetups, short north bar crawls, visiting friends from out of town...
This is a place to go to get a good cup of coffee or a nice mixed drink. The infusion cocktails are fucking great - I believe Amy was my bartender, and she steered me clear of one and straight to the one that she mixed perfectly, that was exactly what I was looking for.
I can't speak to the food - I've only had one piece of pie here on a late night around my birthday, but "mojo/cup o' joe" have always been more of a "coffee/drink" location in my mind. We'll see if this changes in the near future.
This place is a combo bar/coffee shop. Â Nice ambience but drinks are a little pricey. Â Bartender wasn't all that friendly, but I like the environment and would definitely stop here during the day to study by the fireplace and grab a cup of coffee. Â Also impressive that this place serves Nantucket Nectors juice!
