We visited the Bear's Den prior to the One Direction concert based on a friend's recommendation. We didn't enter the park as we were only there for the concert, so food options nearby on park premises were quite limited. Located in the Hershey Lodge just off-site, the Bear's Den is a Hershey Bears themed sports bar, but it is quite family friendly. Being huge hockey fans, this was a pretty cool concept to us.

Service was a bit slow, but the food was pretty good for "theme park"-esque food. I got the fried mozzarella and the buffalo chicken salad, both of which were generous portions and quite good for a quick bite. The buffalo sauce was quite hot, though I love it that way, and I couldn't eat much. However, it was over 90 degrees out and I was getting sick from the heat so that definitely played into why I didn't feel so hot - it definitely was NOT the food.

Overall it was a pretty cool place to visit while looking for somewhere to cool down and grab a nice bite of bar food prior to the concert. If I ever return to Hershey I wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

Chocolate Martinis for days...thats all I have to say.

My mom and I were on the hunt for a quality chocolate martini and I am beyond pleased that we ended up here.
My mom got the Classic Chocolate and I got the Chocolate Buzz. They were both really good but I preferred mine. The Classic is a bit stronger than the Buzz. They have the same amount of booze, just the Buzz is frozen. Both drinks came with a hidden kiss in them, I found that very cute.
You also get to keep the glass martini glass. It's a very nice glass and a wonderful souvenir. I was almost tempted to drink four of them so I would have a set!

I didn't have any of their food. They did give me popcorn though!

The drinks were $13.00 a piece but you do get to keep the glass, so I say it is well worth it.

One last thing, the more I sipped the more I started to worry about the transport of a dirty glass. I started to kind of panic a little as my tipsy mind thought about how silly I was going to look in the bathroom, scrubbing chocolate syrup out of a martini glass.

Good News! They bring you a clean glass before you go! :)

I went there for the 1st time the previous weekend and I knew what to expect due to friends going there. I went when a Caps game was on so the wait was longer then I wanted but I wanted to watch the game so I was OK with it. They gave us free popcorn while we waited. I had the Hershey Bears Cheese stake and it was just like in something out of Philly. I also got the tea that was flavored and it was pretty good. The fry's were well cooked. My girl friends was just a good as mine, she got a burger cooked EXACTLY like she wanted. I read some of the negative reviews and I do not get most of them. It's a sports bar, yes there is SPORTS BAR food. Yes its crowded and loud, ITS A SPORTS BAR. Yes you might have to wait..... people come to watch games because... wait for it... its a... SPORTS BAR. I enjoyed my experience there and would go back again. I am a Bears fan from out of state so it's really cool to see some of the old time memorabilia there.

Huge sports bar. We came in to watch NFL on a Sunday afternoon, and there was plenty of seating and plenty of TVs all around. Booths (only about eight of them) had a TV each, so you could request any game you want. Cleaner and more modern than most sports bars---not a dive. Menu is huge: burgers, salads, sandwiches, and the usual Hershey milkshakes and martinis. Good service. I'm at a loss as to why this place has three stars. A place that will actually show the game you want, that has plenty of seating, and serves decent food? Can't complain here.

So the Bear's den is a bit of an interesting place. My friend and I really enjoy the bar; it has a decent selection of local beer (according to him, I'm not much of a beer guy), and the one bartender there, Erik, is simply awesomely friendly and good at leaving you alone when you need to be left alone.

The food is a bit on the pricey side in my opinion, but the couple times I've gotten a burger there its simply been amazing, and an order of fries is like 2.50 so that's a pretty decent deal. You also get all the free popcorn you want.

The clientele can be a bit of an odd mix because it depends on who's in the hotel.

They have a fair selection of TVs and a huge screen up, but I never watch the games. It's usually not too loud to talk, which is good.

All in all I like the place. They have a lot of bear's memoriabilia around, which is the local hockey team. If you care.

This is the place I go when I want a chill place to grab a beer with a couple of friends.  They have a pretty good beer selection from a variety of microbreweries.  The atmosphere is so so, but the service is friendly (although sometimes slow).  The food is pretty good as well, although slightly overpriced.  I recommend the fresh baked Bavarian hot pretzels as an appetizer.

Went here for restaurant week. They give you a lot of food but it's a bit expensive. Cool atmosphere though in the Hershey Lodge, which is really nice.Food is a bit greasy.

Great spicy crab bread appetizer...lump crab meat on Italian garlic bread with melted mozzarella and parmesan. YUM! Chocolate bread pudding for dessert. YUM! nothing else special on the menu. Had a burger and fries which were good. Free popcorn...for what it's worth...

Nice sports bar for inside a hotel.  Don't expect the greatest service, but if you are looking for a place to watch a sports event, this isn't bad.  Huge tv screens all around.

About as inviting as dining in your high school gym, only with a monster, fuzzy TV dominating the room. A very good selection of micro-brews on draft, the popcorn was also fresh and good. I had the fish and chips-- the fish was long on batter and grease, short on fish. The chips (french fries) tasted as if they'd been cooked in the same fryer as the fish. The oil was clearly long past time for a change and the fries had soaked p much too much of it.

It's a sports bar at the Hershey Lodge. It gets pretty loud, and the service can be slow. Very limited vegetarian dishes. But they have a decent beer selection and free popcorn.

I can only can only vouch for the chocolate martini's but they were the best I had during my stay in Hershey. My mom had the Cherry Chocolate which was made with homemade cherry infused vodka, and I had the mocha, which was made with homemade espresso infused vodka. They were amazing and I would definitely go back here just for a drink. A tail of caution 2 will cost you $26 so sip slowly!

As far as sports bars in family-friendly hotels go, the Bear's Den is pretty decent. Sure, their menu is pretty standard (sandwiches, burgers, etc), but I don't expect world class cuisine at places like these. (However, I will always try to eat here whenever I'm staying the Hershey Lodge b/c of their chocolate ketchup & chocolate barbecue sauce! They're both good, but the barbecue sauce is out of this world! I wish they'd bottle it! I'd certainly stock up!)

The beer selection is good. The first couple times I went they just seemed to have your typical domestic beers. But when I went earlier this summer, I noticed they started serving some bottled micro-brews. Nice touch. (Another nice touch: the free popcorn.)

The place can get a little overrun with kids & families during dinner time, but it's a good place to grab a drink at night, once all the kids have gone to bed. It's a great place to watch a game, too.

I'll start off saying the things I like about the Bear's Den.

The decor is very cool with a lot of Hershey Bears memorabilia, including very cool paintings all over the walls by a local artist.  The guy even hides a Sasquatch in every painting he does, which is pretty neat.  There are plenty of TVs, so all the games are playing while you are there.  They bring you free popcorn, but you have to ask for it, it doesn't come out automatically.  The drink selection is pretty good, and the location is nice, especially if you are staying at the lodge.  There is a small arcade in the back, which I like.

Now for the bad stuff.  The menu is all bar food, and overpriced bar food at that.  The desserts are actually the best part (which should be expected seeing how you are in Hershey and all).  The service can be slow, and the place doesn't have a lot of space, so you often have to wait for a table.  There isn't much they can do about the space, but the service could obviously be better, and it hasn't improved in years.
