I had my wedding reception at Bentley's over 8 years ago and I still get annoyed at their service when I think about it.
I had set up everything with one lady and then shortly before my wedding I was told another woman would be handling my wedding. Â I then met with her when I met the decorators at the location. Â Then SHE WASN'T EVEN THERE FOR MY EVENT! She was there at the beginning and then apparently left....before the dinner was even served.
The bridal party was late arriving due to photos going over and that made the dinner service late, but no one communicated with us about that. It was like a good 45 minutes after we arrived that the food was served (so over an hour late). Â And I has to walk out to the restaurant part in my wedding dress to find out what was going on. Â
Then little things weren't done...like dimming the lights for dancing...or refilling drink pitchers. Â I had a cupcake tower for a wedding cake. Â So I did not have to pay the $1/person cake cutting fee. Â The first woman I made arrangements with told me that the staff would still serve the cupcakes though. Â At my wedding the staff refused to serve the cupcakes because I didnt pay the fee! I had to walk back into the serving area and request trays at least for us to serve the guests with and then an eye rolling server agreed to serve the cupcakes in a huff. Â Then finally they lost the cake cutter/server that we used to cut our cupcake with to feed each other and it was from my in-laws wedding :-(
The food was good! But they put a damper on my day that still bothers me years later.
I had been to Bentley's several times for legislative breakfasts during the Maryland General Assembly session. At these functions we were in a side room with a buffet breakfast. The service and quality of the food was always good.
Most recently, I hosted a campaign kick-off event on their sun-porch, and hung out after the event at their full bar.
The prices were reasonable, and although I did not sample any of the food at my event, I heard no complaints. I had catered food for 50 people for under $500 total, with tax and gratuity.
Afterward a handful of us stayed around at the bar for several hours, and our bar tabs were surprisingly low! Great value for the experience and quality.
