This place has a really good wine selection. I've done the wine tasting here and really like it. The food is pretty good but somewhat overpriced. The bartenders are really nice and very helpful when trying to pair your food with wine. I've had a few different dishes but I usually only go for the wine after work or when I want to do happy hour with friends.
They also make their own infused tequila so if you're into that you should definitely try it.
The atmosphere was super cool. The waiter was attentive. We really just wanted a couple drinks and maybe a small bite. My wife ordered a bowl of soup. It was stone cold. They sent out an apology appetizer bite. The 2 glasses of house chardonnay each and bowl of soup cost us $64.00 without the tip. Pretty disappointing. Overpriced fluff. I'm curious if they have inexperienced U of D students running the show.
Review Source:The Stone Balloon is a great place to go if you want to try gourmet quality food but you don't exactly know what you're getting into or are unfamiliar with terms such as "confit" or "remoulade." Â The wait staff, while a little on the slow side, was incredibly helpful in choosing a wine pairing and explaining what the seeming American-French fusion dishes were. It is a bit pricey, but the food is excellent and the dress attire is casual. Definitely worth a shot if you're looking to try your first fancy restaurant but are scared by fancy restaurant demure.
