The one and only visit to this dump. friends told me that the firehouse had the best food and great service. I could not tell you how good the food is because we never got to eat. We sat down and ordered drinks. We never did get to talk to the server after that, another person ended up serving our drinks and when we said that we were ready to order, the server said that I will get you your server I am just helping her out. My friend ordered a margarita and they served it in a martini glass, what a joke. We sat for twenty minutes and did not get a server. When I did see her, she was sitting at table with people that were getting star treatment. We laid money on the table for the drinks and we got up and left. this is where we got the most attention beause the server got up and asked us if we were going to pay for the drinks, I told her the money was on the table and she turned her back to me and went to the table, I then yelled to her that this was the worst restaurant ever. the next day I called the manager and explained to him what happened but he was a complete jerk and said that I should take my business somewhere else. NEVER COMING BACK TO THIS DUMP
Review Source:Déjà vu - pronounced /desa vu/ , "already seen"; is the experience of feeling sure that one has witnessed or experienced a new situation previously (an individual feels as though an event has already happened ). The term was coined by a French psychic researcher, Émile Boirac (1851-1917).
But is it really Déjà vu when in fact you have already been there?
That is the case with Big Al's Firehouse. When I moved out into northern Macomb county in the 80's. Big Al was there and I have been there several times. But like a goldfish in a bowl, Big Al's is off my beaten track so I just kind of forgot about them. What a shame too as the ribs here are really great. A contender for best in Macomb County.
Big Al perfected his Rib recipe cooking for the guys at a firehouse when he was a fireman. Hence the name Big Al's Firehouse is not a stretch, but rather a reference to his beginnings. The tender meaty bones are smoked with his secret dry rub and slathered with a rich tangy sauce. A full slab of baby backs comes with two sides and will cost a reasonable 20 bones.
The menu is extensive and varied. Steaks, lasagna, burgers, sandwiches and a large salad bar. I saw a wrap sandwich that looks the size of a small football.
Note to self... Don't want to forget about this one again... Good thing I now have Yelp to remind me.
