Big Dave's Texas Roadhouse

Very good BBQ, friendly service, great sauces and free ice cream!

Enjoyed a dinner here recently.  The portions are very generous for the price and I really liked the selection of sauces offered.

We tried the full range of meats they had.  On the day we were there, none of the meats had a strong smoke flavor which I look for in BBQ, but I know this can vary depending on style.  The Brisket was very moist and flavorful, not smoky.  The pulled pork was a little dry but tasted great.  The ribs were perfectly cooked (could have used more flavor but the sauce more than made up for it) and the wings were very good.  I wish the wings were offered with a traditional buffalo hot sauce, but good all the same.

The sides I tried were great.  Solid coleslaw and green beans.

I'll try it again and compare it to their roadside stand around the corner.

Beer is currently BYOB.  Which is nice!  Save a few bucks and carry your favorite brew in with you.

Recently opened Big Dave's Texas Roadhouse is definitely worth getting off the beaten track.  Dave and his family have perfected a smoked fried wing.  You heard me.  Smoked then fried.  Awesomely good.  I didn't try it but I've also heard the brisket is the absolute best.  There is limited seating but the place is clean and the staff is friendly.  Would be great for take out.
