After a 40 mile bike ride on Saturday, our group was ravenous! The place to be is outside at The Tiki Bar but it is too early in the season. New chef, new and better food and really wowed everyone! Six of us and we of the dreaded "separate checks please".
Buddy, who is really a bartender, was our server. He didn't even blink - no problem with separate checks. The food was outstanding! Everything from swordfish tacos and fresh roasted tomato salsa to large steamed shrimp in a great broth to delicious chicken sandwich - this was such a great experience.
The chef even came out to greet us and ask how everything tasted. He was very engaging and interested in our comments.
We also were the table who asked for...everything from: more roasted salsa, cream for the coffee, ketchup, another spoon. Good grief, beware the cyclists!
We all tipped well because Buddy deserved it and we had a super time.
One request: the women's restroom was a bit "ripe" smelling and could benefit from a thorough cleaning or ventilation fix - something!
Look forward to the Tiki Bar and the Orange Crush drinks and a cold Corona!
I've been here twice now.. typically beacuse my company will charter a boat for a fishing trip and heck there is not really any resturants in the area. I can tell this is def a locals hang out as I get the "where the hell are you from look" as I enter! This last trip was much more enjoyable than the first... Our waitress was very attentive but seemed to be overwhelmed and only had 3 tables, confusing?!?!? Me and my coworkers all ordered the crab dip which was sub par- all cream cheese not so much crab! It was Tuesday so they had a $2 per crab deal going on so I got 3 crabs and the crab cake sandwhich with fries. The crabs were very good! the crab cake sandwhich was ehhhh ( could have skipped that one), the fries were good though! Next time I'll just get the pick your own crab deal with an orange crush! Did i mention their orange crushes are really good here!
