I expected the most dive-y bar in the world and I was wrong. I liked Big's, we ordered burgers and they were good, the service was good too. Â The inside was really roomy and had lots of tables, booths and barstools. There was a digital jukebox, shuffleboard and pretty big dance floor and DJ booth area (it has tables set up during the day). The waitresses greeted us immediately, which I always appreciate and they were quick to tell us about the specials. Â We had just missed the end of happy hour at 7pm, which was a bummer because they have tons of deals going on. Â
Â
We were there to eat so we ordered burgers, an 'Angel' and an 'Ortega'. I switched a side salad for my fries and I was surprised when the waitress brought it out, the salad was huge! That never happens, side salads are always puny, so I felt like I got a good deal. My burger was medium and tasted good, it had green chiles on it and Tim's burger was equally okay, he thought it was average. Â I told the waitress that it was my first time in the bar and she filled me in on all the fun theme nights. Â They have trivia on friday, which she says is "very competitive" and a make-your-own-burger night on mondays where you pay a flat rate and order all the topping you want from a list on a little order sheet. Â You can even choose to have your burger between two (yes, 2!) grilled cheese sandwiches or garlic bread instead of a bun. Overall I had a good time and I think I'll be back to eat and check out DJ Night and trivia.
I recently went here for their Mothers Day mom's eat free brunch. We didn't make reservations, however we were the first in and they were very sweet about finding us a table and even gave me a rose and said happy Mothers Day.
I have to say the buffet brunch, that by the way they have every Sunday was soooooo yuuuumy. They had a nice assortment of food including authentic Mexican breakfast dishes. I am so glad we came and the customer service was spot on! Thanks Big's!
