Burgers get a 4.5, Bar gets a 3.5. Some of the best burgers I've had in town. Consistently in my top 5 burger stops for Omaha. I've found the food varies in quality from location to location so keep that in mind. Atmosphere has the nostalgia feel with old bookstore signs, gas station signs, etc. The bartenders have always been chatty and good with a quick refill although my visits have been more during the early evening hours so this may change as the night goes on.
Just recently we had family in town with grand parents, parents, kids, brothers and sisters and it was the great place to spread out, catch up, and grab a good bite with good drinks.
Stopped by Billy's for quick bite and a brew with a colleague. As advertised the locale on Dodge St is a burger and beer place. It could certainly use some updating but it's a decent spot for an early casual dinner and a brew.
The burgers were good and my colleague commented that the Blue Burger was most excellent. The condiment bar is a good addition so you can load up burger with tomatoes, jalapenos, onions, and whatever. . .
My only nit it was happy hour and domestic draft beer was specially priced. I ordered a Sam Adams draft beer and was informed by our server that Sam Adams was not a domestic beer. I responded that it was brewed in the NE (and a few other US locales). Her response no it's not. . . OK? Not a biggie the Sams winter larger was still tasty.
