I have eaten here more than a few times and the last dining experience was less impressive.  Took a group of friends from work and we all ordered different dishes to try and each dish lacked seasoning and the presentation was sloppy. The waitress was somewhat less than professional calling some of my guests "hon" and "sweetie". I get talking to people like that but not in an upscale environment. I would expect this in a diner but not at this place. The fish & chips were soggy, the pasta with bolgonese was flat and unseasoned, the fish special was a mix of flavors that I didn't think complimented one another. The menu descriptions sounded great but once you got the food it was disappointing. This could have been an "off" night but to be honest I was a bit surprised that the owner would allow these dishes to go out as they did. The appetizer (Korean short rib( was good). The desserts (creme brûlée and bread pudding) were good but overall the total dining experience was not cohesive. I am a chef and the group I brought were my kitchen staff and I was a bit embarrassed as I had talked up this place based on my prior dining experiences. I know food and proper front of house service and on this night we were not recipients of exemplary food or service.  Pay more attention to your table in a fashion that is respectful and professional!
Review Source:This is an awesome place!! The menu is always outstanding and the wait staff is by far the best I've ever had! The wife and I go here at least once or twice a month..The only thing I wish they would change is their beer selection, needs to be vastly expanded...especially with all the great breweries in the tri-state area..
but besides that it worth a trip to Valpo to try and if your from around here you must try it!!!
