This was my second time there, hoping my experience would improve. My first time there I had shrimp scampi which were clearly frozen shrimp and way overcooked. My husband and I both opted for chicken dishes this time around, mine was very blandand my husbands francese tasted like stale lemons, it wad not pleasant. We drcided to try a peanut butter molten cake which had about a tablespoon of sauce on a burnt dry cake. The waiter was slow and we were one of his two tables. Review Source:just had my sons baptism here on 3/9/13,after a lil hiccup i was suppose to have my party in there second room but they switched me to the main restaurant part, but i must say they are simply amazing service and food. Only thing i was a lil unhappy with was the no parking because they had 3 parties basically at the same time, and because i was in the dinning room where the patio is, ppl where stepping out smoking and every time they opened the door the whole room smelled like smoke. Â But other than that my friends and family just raved over the food (delicious) and the very friendly staff. Would definitely host another party here!!
Review Source:We went to a birthday party thrown here. The best aspect about this restaurant seemed to be the bar. The waiters looked like they wanted to kill themselves, someone might want to call an emergency hotline to get them some help. The setting of the party was a little strange. It felt like everything was being set up on a stage or that we were on a fake restaurant set filming for TV.
The dessert was alright, I sampled the apple crumb pie and the birthday cake (which I think came from elsewhere). The apple crumb pie was sweet but watery. I also wish it was served warm.
The food was also alright. Everything looked very fresh which is a plus when you are getting ready to eat food somewhere. The highlight of the food offerings was the eggplant rolletini. The bread was decent, the salad was a usual salad, the cooked vegetables didn't have much flavor, the potatoes looked good but were disappointing on the taste buds, the penne in marinara sauce had a little spice to it.
My hubby and I have sensitive stomachs and afterward our tummies were both wrecked from eating here.
We might stop by for some drinks again but we might not make a choice to eat here again.
The server was very nice but not very attentive their we're 3 other tables in the restaurant and no one else working no bus boy, runner, or even bartender. Just the one waitress and a manager that did not help the waitress with ANYTHING. Their was no music on for the first half of our meal. The food was decent For starters we ordered baked clams, and "lump" crab cakes...they were not made with lump crab meat. I got a clearly defrosted NY strip, my girlfriend got the divers medley, my brother got the tilapia, and his girlfriend got the pork chops. Of all our meals and the apps the pork chops were the best. The tiramisu was delicious and she made us very nice cappuccino. I'm glad we double checked because on the certificate it said that gratuity would be added and it was not. Â All in all the meal was alright the service could have been better but it wasn't her fault, the decor is not impressive, I didn't dislike it but there was nothing that would make me want to go back.
Review Source:Just left from  a catered party at Blue Lagoon for a funeral service in the Pine Lawn area.
We usually would just go to a diner in my queens-bred family but decided to try something different. Start to finish Blue Lagoon made planning and executing the event so easy. We were a little late arriving but never felt rushed, the food was great, service was seamless, and we all got to say long goodbyes without a waiter standing over us. It is also super easy to get to from the cemetery.
Certainly recommend this restaurant for a simple catered event.
