I was meeting a friend for a drink after work and we pick Blue's Pub purely for its location to our homes. The deco is nice inside. (pretty sports barish) The drink prices were not bad and the waitress was pretty tentative. I was hungry so I ordered a sand-which and some fries. The food was great which was surprising seeing how this appeared to be more focused on liquor sales than food.

I have been back a couple times since my first visit and it has been consistent. I am so glad to find a place like this so close to home.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon ready to grub down. The interior is surprisingly cute, with beer taps on the walls/hanging feature. Plenty of seating available, as well as a pretty nice sized bar. The drink prices from what I saw seemed pretty reasonable! I noticed on the menu that they infuse their own vodka, I saw a big vase of a clear liquid filled with limes, oranges, and lemons so I'd love to try that next time I go back!

They have a wide variation of food, from chicken curry to chicken salad on a croissant. My husband got the chicken curry, although he said it wasn't hot at all as the menu claims, but that it still had good flavor. I just a had a burger with sweet potato fries, so it was good but it's kind of hard to mess up a burger for me (I don't even eat the bun, just the meat and pickles and tomatoes separately...I know, it's ridiculous) However, the rusty nuts, a house favorite, were excellent. Little balls of potato, cheese, jalapeno, and a bit of bacon (which I didn't mind that much though I usually hate bacon) and then fried to perfection and served with ranch. I'd be happy just with those!!

First time here and we will be back. The service was excellent and the food was not too shabby either. We started off with the Rusty Nuts which were excellent. Since it was brunch, we decided to stay on the brunch menu and try the pancakes which were fantastic and the SEBC. The potato cakes for the SEBC were crispy and delicious. The eggs, bacon and cheese were also well done. Some places can really screw up a brunch, this place is not one of them.

Yes. Yes. Yes. The chicken curry is fantastic. No, seriously try it!

Was very impressed with the food.  Place looks like your typical Pub but actually has a some great food.  Not just your typical bar food.  Guess their claim to fame is the Rusty Nuts.  Bacon, Potato and Jalepeno balls fried.  We had an order of those and I had the meatloaf.  It was pretty darn good.  Will definitely be back.

Really liking this place. Have dropped in many times for lunch, dinner or just drinks. Great drink specials, still have good beers on tap - not just bud/miller/coors crap. Food runs from good to really good. Service can be a bit slow sometimes, other times it's great. I like the bartenders. My wife and I plan to keep coming here.

Not Good. Went shortly after Blue's opened. Cute pub environment with a decent selection of beer and wine. Food was awful. Fries were uncooked. Sent them back. After quite a wait the fries came back cooked but cold. Finished our drinks and chalked it up to being new. Went back months later. Food was a disaster again. Tenders came to the table almost burned. Returned food to kitchen AGAIN. The server even said they were " burned ". Why did she serve burned food? No idea what the kitchen did, but the tenders were rock hard. Tenders? Place was busy, seems like everyone else is having a different experience.

We came here for lunch 2-3 weeks ago on a recommendation from our neighbor. We received the absolute WORST service from a girl named Crystal. She was flighty and downright horrible at her job. She took a ridiculous amount of time to bring us our drinks (which were soft drinks so it wasn't as if she was waiting on the bartender) and we did not see her again until she brought out our food. DH asked for mustard and refills on our drinks that had been sitting empty throughout our meal. We never received either. DH enjoyed his fish and my burger was so-so. The fries were surprisingly good.
They were dead for lunch, which I understand. There are too many options in this area to deal with terrible service. The experience left such a bad taste in our mouths, we would not be interested to return for so much as a beer. Again, luckily there are too many options in this area for bars as well.

The restaurant is clean and set up well, plenty of TV's to watch any game you want. We love the brunch there, the Bloody Marys are phenomenal. The owner and staff are friendly.

The only reason that I would give this restaurant two stars is because the owner of the restaurant treats his customers very well. Let me comment on the food briefly.
I have had the chicken curry entree and it was very good. But the brunch was very bad. Then today, I had ordered shepherd's pie and it was ok. My friend ordered fish and chips.. And there was literally once piece of fish.. Then I ordered a quesidilla appetizer and it was ok.. But after having lunch there, I became sick.
So I am not sure what happened, but the quality of the food is inconsistent.

If you have been to one of Blue's places (Irish Rover (way back when), Delaney's in McKinney, Irish Icehouse (well, kinda)) then you know what to expect here. I don't think the menu has evolved much past the 2004 Irish Rover incarnation, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. The Rusty Nuts are as they have been for the past 7-8 years. Pretty dang tasty. The Philly Steak Egg Rolls are not too shabby either.

The rest of the menu is solid, if uninspired, ordinary pub food.  Not bad but not amazing. Just something OK to put in your gut to absorb the liquor. Ah, the liquor... yes, let's talk about that.

Look at the drink / bar specials for whatever night you happen to be visiting, go with that, and you will not be disappointed. Cheap, strong drinks. Really - isn't that the point? Isn't that what you're here for? Damn right it is! Some of the worst hangovers I have had in recent memory stem from Tuesday nights at Blue's - $3.00 Jack Daniels, $6.50 bucket o' wings, and karaoke. Oh hell, I have to work Wednesday? Since when?

    Damn, that's gonna hurt.

Take this place for what it is, don't expect too much, and go with whatever the drink special is for the night you're there and you'll be a happy chappy.

Great atmosphere, excellent service, fantastic place to sit with your buds and watch a game.  Traditional pub food, highlighted by their "rusty nuts."  Burgers taste great.

1st time here - stopped in after pedicures with a friend for a drink and some apps mid-afternoon (Saturday).
Atmosphere - love it! A good bar scene, great for sports/game watching. Love the decor with mounted beer taps all over the wall. Flat screen tv's everywhere you turn your head. The husband would love it! I felt that it was a decent crowd for the afternoon.
Food - Bar food done right! Large portions all around. We ordered the Party Platter and it was plenty of food (too much, actually). We wanted to try a variety, including their signature "Rusty Nuts" - potatoes, bacon, jalapeno, onion and pepper jack cheese rolled in breadcrumbs into a balls. I love potatoes and this was a serious party in my mouth!
Also included the Philly Steak Egg Rolls - perfectly cheesy throughout! These were my favorite for sure.
The party was "rounded out" with LOADS of fried pickles and fried jalapeno slices. The breading was done right and didn't overpower the juicy food beneath it.
Over all- lots of food for $16.
Drinks - decent selection of on tap brews. Looks like they have a different drink special every day. They infuse their own vodka and there were lots of other people enjoying that in bloody mary drinks. Will definitely be back to try that!
Service - nothing spectacular but nothing horrible either.

What more can you really want?  COLD COLD BEER, tons of great food choices (and I do means tons of choices), great staff and service, incredible atmosphere, great location and the prices are very fair if not low.  PLUS... where else close can you get a 16 oz beer for just $2.25 all day, every day while you watch the game?

Come on people, it's a neighborhood Pub... not a five star country club.  To be honest, I would really go to Blue's then my country club any day because I can dress how I like, hahahaha

You want to know one of the things that makes me loyal to a business?  Great customer service.  Blue and his staff have it down to a science.  Blue's Pub has become a regular stop for my wife and I and ever time we've been in here we've had great service.  Blue has even went out of his way to make sure our experience has been good.  Throwing in a pint didn't hurt either.

The pub has a great neighborhood feel to it. Everything we've had off the menu has been really good.  My wife and I really like the beef and lamb Greek Gyro.

Great food + beer + Outstanding service = Win!

My wife and I visited Blue's on a weekend early afternoon because we had seen they offered brunch.  Everything we had was very good including the pancakes with bacon cooked into the mix and a couple complimentary rusty nuts.  It's a nice set up with a good large, central bar, plenty of flat screens and a bunch of specials up on the signs for college and pro football time.  However, I will say there aren't many beers on tap if you're looking for a large selection.

The reason I write the review is because I saw one commenting on poor service from the staff and manager/owner.  During our visit the wait staff couldn't have been nicer or more attentive and the owner was very friendly visiting the tables and generally welcoming everyone including us on our first visit.  We'll definitely be back.

We have been to Blues Pub 3 times and most likely will not go back:

    Pros:
    ***Excellent location and parking
***Interior decor outfitted with many flat screens and a cool centerpiece bar
***Chicken fried steak and chicken alfredo were good with good size portions
***Service was good and waitress (thin white girl) was attentive and detailed.

    Cons:
*** Waitress's gather at front door and texting or chatting - and fail to ackowledge customer.
***Owner seems to think he is celebrity status and spends more time wheeling around the floor " not managing" and spends time seeking approbation from his regulars.

    Here's some constructive feedback:
Conceptually, your restaurant works, however the food and general attitude need improvement.

    This ain't LA!

My husband and I visited here on August 4, after anticipating them opening. We usualyl hit up Pick 6 about 2 miles west on Eldorado, but we are so glad that we stopped in here.

Hubs enjoyed the Chicken Curry over fries, and we both split the philly egg rolls and rusty nuts (I think that's what they were called, but whateer they were, they are awesome.) I also had one of their mixed drinks with Loopy (Froot Loop flavored) vodka.

Great food and service. We will be back!

The hubs and I were looking forward to this place opening so I am excited to finally be writing this review.   We went with another couple on a Tuesday night and it was not crowded at all..thinking either the word that its open is not out yet or maybe that it was a Tuesday?

The inside is really nice, a nice big bar with plenty of seating.  We also spied the Golden Tee machine in back - hubs was excited.  Blue brought out a sample of his Rusty Nuts -  fried balls of deliciousness.  They tasted like mini croquettes with a little something extra.   The menu is pretty lengthy so there should be something there for everyone.  The service was pretty good, a little slow with clearing the tables, but otherwise fine.

We enjoyed the blue moon on draft and each had different entrees.  I enjoyed the Chicken Curry, hubs had the Hot Wings, and friends had the chicken salad sandwich and the some sort of an open faced burger with chili on it?!  Not my cup o tea, but they seemed to enjoy their choices.

    We'll be back!

not a fan!  nothing special about the food, just another bar with bar food.  the service wasn't that attentive.  a man was rude to us when our food was brought out and i asked the waitress who he was and she said he was the owner "blue", of course given the name of the pub.
