3 SOLID STARS for this Bocaza Mexican Grill.
Went here with Hubs on Wednesday July 4th 2012. Â Thankfully while we were there, we are the last patrons since they decide to close early due to the July 4th Celebration. Â Time was about 19:35hrs ish.
We ordered our food/beverages at the counter.
We opt for these items from the Menu :
* Â Steak Tacos ($5.59)
* Â Steak Burrito Smothered with Sour Cream ($5.59) + ($1.09) + ($0.50)
* Â 2 Bottled Drinks ($1.75) each hence ($3.50)
* Â Large Fountain Drink for Hubs ($1.49)
The staff behind the counter was indeed accommodating and inviting. Â While at the counter ordering, we can opt the kind of ingredients to be put in our order. Â There is a SELF-Service salsa/sauce counter available in which I so wish the salsa or the sauces provided could be spicy for my personal taste bud.
Our food came out piping hot and made to order, the service was fast. Â As for the food, its A-OKAY for our taste bud. Â I so wish the Tacos I had to have more flavor. Â Since both our order contain "Steak", as the main protein, it seems what they put in the Tacos tasted similar to the Steak Burrito. Â To return, its a maybe when time and schedule permitting. Â We left at 20:10hrs after a full belly in our tummy.

The posole is good; my dad tells me the menudo is 'done right'. I didn't have a whole lot of options with my current diet situation, so I ended up with a naked fajita which I'm sure would have been a lot more enjoyable if given a tortilla and some rice. So essentially I was judging this place on meat and toppings, and where that was concerned I think it was just ok. I had the pork, it wasn't stellar. The price, for what I got could have been cheaper, though I understand I could have ordered something more cheap like the $1 tacos.
Review Source:Meh.
Set up like a Chipotle in terms of assembly line. Â Hot red salsa had reasonable kick, decent flavor. Â Horchata was good. Â I had a steak burrito which was so large I didn't finish the last 3 bites. Â Overall, everything was very..... satisfactory. Â I would eat here again but wouldn't go out of my way to do so. Â It's really just OK - you could do worse but you could definitely do better.
Good, flavorful food, with some of my favorites on the menu--the chili colorado is excellent and I will go back to try the chile rellenos. My dining companion had the chicken fajita burrito which he enjoyed. Washed it down with a yummy tamarindo--no beer sold. Previous reviewer correct about not spicy, but it is still fully flavored--yumm. Be forewarned that this is a bit of a dive--cheap decor, order at counter, strip mall location, etc.
Review Source:On my last visit to Denver a co-worker pointed me to this unassuming powerhouse of taco awesomeness.
The counter is manned by friendly staff that will offer you a variety of solid options to enhance your taco building experience to your individual taste. I recommend the green tomato salsa, which is in the medium range when it comes to spicy providing an excellent taste and a comfortable amount of heat. My mutant co-worker would have none of this and opted for some uber spicy stuff that is involved in pepper spray testing; proving that not only do they possess a variety of toppings but have a nice selection of 'heat' options to suit all needs.
Definitely on my goto list for lunch options when I have to work in this part of Denver.
Damn this review is kind of tough regarding the star situation... Read on and make your own determination.
So I'm in Denver for the next week for work over on E 47th ave. Yelp for Blackberry isn't showing me too many options over there, aside from Del Taco and Subway... come on now.
So I pulled into the little strip mall of chains this afternoon fully expecting to return to work with some triple stacked Burger King nonsense when I saw a sign that read, "$1 tacos!". I had to see what was up.
Upon walking in, I was super confused. The interior is set up kind of like a Chipotle/Taco Del Mar in the sense that they've got the big panel menu with burritos that look like they might be total crap. But at the same time, the place looked a little more authentic than either of the two chain options I listed. There's a cooler to the right of the counter with every kind of Jarrito's you could ever want, AND Mexican pepsi or coke in the glass bottles. That's a nice touch. Anyway, getting back to the Chipotle aspect of the place, this is the kind of burrito place where you're asked if you want white or mexican rice, followed by a selection of beans, then meat, then cheese sour cream and lettuce. These kinds of places go downhill quickly. Who wants a burrito built on a god damned assembly line? Is this fucking Fort Motor Company circa 1931?
I was surprised, though. After opting out of rice and beans the lady behind the counter jokingly asked if I would like meat. I ordered the carne asada that ended up tasting more like shredded beef but was still good. Only issue with that burrito was that the scoop of meat she took was totally full of water. This turned my burrito soggy as hell before I was even ready to unwrap it. Two scoops of "hot" sauce followed, and that sauce was pathetic. Not hot whatsoever. Luckily there's a salsa bar on the other side of the restaurant and they've got the good stuff over there including a guacamole based sauce and an orange sauce with mysterious red flakes in it that was pretty flavorful and definitely spicy.
I had to power town two of the $1 tacos as well. I had the adobada and it was decent but nothing to write home about. What do you want for a dollar, though? It's a Tijuana style taco. Meat, two little tortillas and onions/cilantro.
All in all, this taco shop wasn't too bad for what it was. I expected far worse just by way of the menus and the assembly line situation that normally leaves me with a "meh" after eating. I'd go here again, but I won't be this trip... too many other options to explore.
