I'd give it 5 except they don't have a full bar and in fact very limited selection. Â Been to this place a handful of times; including all 3 of the rooms. Â There is a cool side room which from my experience is more of a holding area... but it's a cool place to chill and have a drink before heading to your main event. Â The large back theater is very cool for a more chill vibe (an acoustic set, or theater). Â The area I've spent most time in is the main front room with the stage and bar off to the side. Â I've seen some really great shows here... and there seems to be a lot of up and comers who play here prior to making it big (or indie big anyways). Â You can always get up close if you want or there are some high tables to chill out around further back.
Again only complaint is lack of booze selection. Â They have no gluten free beers and other than wine your left with cider. Â
All good... seeing a show there later this week and super excited.
Love it! Only 4 stars though because they do not have a full bar.
-The shows here are cheap and the venue is very unique. The movie theatre style seating in the back of the theatre is really cool and nice if you want to sit and chill for a while. It is small enough to where there are very few terrible places to stand to watch the show from. However, the concertgoers here seem to be well above the average height which I find annoying.
-The area Bootleg is located in is kinda weird and slightly sketchy. I would not expect this kind of venue to be where it is, but it isn't weird enough location to deter me from returning.
-This place is filled with mainly 25-35 year old hipsters. If you come, be prepared to see a lot of plaid and a few hats that provoke the question, why?
Ultimately, I highly recommend checking out Bootleg. It is a fun place to spend a weekend night, and you probably won't understand how "unique" it is until you visit it for yourself.
I wouldn't come here for a sold out show again!. I couldn't even sit in the main room to watch the show - it was packed and I couldn't get into the room ( the room was overflowing) so had to sit in the outer room where they had it playing on a speaker only, not even on a tv. They shouldn't have sold so many tickets if you can't actually watch the performer!! Took me a half hour to find parking because the lot across the street they had a sign instructing you to use was already full and all the streets were packed. I didn't see valet and I'm sure I would've noticed the 100 times I circled around. I got lucky finally after a half hour that some resident four blocks away was leaving. No liquor = no bueno for me, especially when I'm sitting around and CAN'T EVEN WATCH THE PERFORMER I PAID TO SEE!! Can't I at least have a decent drink to feel sorry for myself that I spent $30 for a performace I could only hear at this venue? The only good thing was since they didn't have anything I wanted to drink, I didn't have to worry that I was giving them any more of my money. Very disappointed. It may be a different experience if the show isn't crowded, but I would avoid it if it's a sold out show.
