Think Mexican Wrestling with the full masks and costume, burlesque show, and a pair of comedians. Worth the price of admission, worth going to see it to belies it. A fun, interactive show. One note: it is worth it to get good ringside seats and/or get there early. Show started at 8, if you don't have reserved seats, I'd get in line at 6:30.
Review Source:Lucha VaVoom is at the top of my Must See Events in Los Angeles. Mexican Wrestling and Burlesque dancing and two comedians acting as MCs and cracking wise throughout. Once I saw it, I became pretty much committed to dragging all of my friends to future shows to share the wonder, cheesiness, sexo y violencia of Lucha Vavoom.
Adding to the fun is the locale. The Mayan is a gorgeous venue and seems like a throwback to the day when theaters were palaces. The only problem is that, for concerts, all of the engravings and what not mess with the acoustics so you basically have to be in the very front to hear the show. The balcony (again, for concerts) is sonic death as the bands sound muffled.
But for Lucha VaVoom, any seat is grand. I always hangout at the side bar, which is usually not too packed but still has a solid view of the Lucha and the VaVoom.
