Grand Performances

I just love this venue, the place is amazing, came here for a free concert, it was really cool. A lot of bands play here, and a lot of variety of shows.

Grand Performances despite their atrocious venue does a truly great job at bringing in acts for free concerts for folks to enjoy. However, the venue is an embarrassment to our country's efforts to built public spaces where crowds can gather and enjoy rich culture.   Friends and I were all laughing at the placement of the 40 foot wide pool between the performers and the audience.   They can't drain the pool, for what would be an excellent dance space close to the main stage and you can not go and splash around in it.

Dear Inland Empire Planning Department,

You are fired.  In your place, we are hiring the genius who put together Grand Performances.

Came here for a Yelp Elite Event.  Quite honestly I had never heard of Grand Performances, so I was excited to see what this was all about.  Located in the beautiful California Plaza, GP was all that and then some.

There is a parking structure with access off Olive.  For GP, there is special event pricing ($7.50).  If you show up early, find somewhere else because its pretty expensive otherwise.

Wow!  California Plaza is cool.  Nestled between the usual skyscraper, this gem really shines.  There is a Starbucks, Flower Shop (I believe) a few Eateries and the Angels Flight.  The small man made lakes and water fountains add a bit of whimsy during performances.

7/19/2013 - Mucca Pazza & Fanfare Ciocarlia.  Both acts were exceptional, but Fanfare Ciocarlia were my favorite.  They are the high school marching band you wish you had at your high school.  Very fun and entertaining and incredibly talented.  I want those pom-poms.  People were up dancing and having a blast.

Grand Performances welcomed me with open arms, and we are now seeing each other.  Oh yeah its FREE!
