Onyx Lounge

I've heard good things about Onyx. Their bartenders, food and drinks are very well regarded. Unfortunately I was unable to verify those recommendations as I was detained at the door. Apparently the bar was at capacity, and the bouncer refused me and my two friends entry. That's totally understandable, or it would be if ten  people didn't immediately leave. And then four other people wandered up and were let in before us. And then the bouncer couldn't tell us how many people had to leave before we could enter. So I'm going to rate the outside of the establishment. The staff was pissy and unhelpful, the drinks were nonexistent and the only food I could find was a discarded cigarette butt. One star.

classy beautiful interior, high ceilings, dim lighting. decent-looking people. food was delicious....highlight was the garlic fries.

not sure how the hostess got hired. terribly rude, no social skills, gives mean looks. the weirdest thing to have a hostess like that in such a nice club. our servers were very kind.
