The Escondite

This USED TO BE my favorite late night spot downtime.

I love the jalapeno grilled cheese, the BBQ wings are awesome and the fact that they have live music every night is awesome.

I had two great experiences here and the third time was treated like GARBAGE. The bussboy was EXTREMELY rude. Was yelling at us to get out just as the server brought us our last round of drinks. There was a group of people sitting near us that were loud and rambunctious but he was picking on my date and I who were sitting there quietly.

I was so offended, disgusted and embarrassed. This WAS a favorite spot of mine and I will never go back.

Escondite is perfect for casually chillen' with friends and catching up.  You don't have to get dolled up!  Don't worry, no one will be, specially during HH.

They also have daily specials like ALL DAY Happy Hour on Mondays, Two-fer Tuesdays - two burgers and two beers (or certain liquors) for $20, etc.

A few flat screen TV's perfect for watching a game.

FREE parking at their lot.

BAR FOOD is ABOVE AVERAGE!  I recommend the cheeseburgers, that's what they're know for.

Live music every night starting at 10pm.

This is a neighborhood dive-y bar so ambiance is very casual and chill.  IF you want TO SEE AND BE SEEN, this is NOT THE PLACE for you!

The Escondite is bar/restaurant known for their burgers that occasionally has live music, located in downtown near Japanese Town. There is a lot for free parking in the evenings, but not sure during the daytime.

When we arrived, we were seated in an area that was almost pitched dark due to the light bulb being out. Since the lighting in the room was already dimmed, with the light bulb being out it made it very difficult for us to see each other, let alone the menu. Even with the aid of one candle it was too dark so we decided to move ourselves to another table without the assistance of the waiter.

The Escondite is known for their creative burgers but there is an option to customized your own burger. My burger was cooked nicely, but the burger in my opinion was a bit on the smaller size, as well as the portion of fries offered.

All in all, this was an average dining experience.
