The Black Sheep

The Black Sheep is one of our go-to neighborhood joints since it opened this Spring. They always have an awesome selection of beers that changes often, and has included such offerings as Eagle Rock Brewery's Manifesto and Ommegang Witte. Beers are a reasonable $7, and there's something new on tap almost every week. They definitely pay attention to local beers.

One of the best things about the Black Sheep is that they offer excellent bar food, and have utterly changed my opinion of tater tots. Their carne asada tots are incredible and must be tried, even if you hate tater tots, have never considered carne asada, and aren't sold on hot stuff, much less sriracha. I've also had their cheesesteak, which is fabulously messy. This place has made me need cheese whiz in ways I never knew possible.

So glad they're in the neighborhood and doing things right. I'll never be able to turn down an opportunity to have those tots.

The restaurant is small and looks like a low key pub. The food is straightforward and delicious. They have a variety of burgers and the Black Sheep Burger with gouda and caramelized onions was savory, delicious. They have a nice variety of choices for drinks as well. This place is really unique and serves up some new things.

OMFG! Okay so I've had carne asada fries, carne asada curly fries and now alas at the Black Sheep I have devoured carne asada tater tots! Boy was the inner piggy in me happy about this ooey goeey goodness! The tots are pretty good but it was the carne asada that blew me away. Delish! Definitely get your own! I wouldn't want to share... well I guess maybe if I was already eating a burger. Prices are pretty fair. The carne asad fries were 7 dollars flat.

The restaurant is small and looks like a low key pub. They don't even have a big sign just a small hand written one on the sidewalk. It's unassuming from the outside. The inside is very sleek with black furniture. So many beer choices here. This place is really unique and serves up some new things. Definitely asian fusion done right!

If being a black sheep is wrong, I don't know what's right anymore! Definitely a perfect fit to the downtown scene!
