This place has gone DOWNHILL FAST!!! Too bad because at one point years back it was actually a great place to eat! What a shame!!

We come here often and are never disappointed. Great specials and huge portions. We like the casual pub atmosphere and bumping into people we know.

I'm not really a yuppie snob.....anymore. Just ask my brother....that was just a joke, right?

Okay, okay- my point: wish we could do better here. Wish we could. I've had some decent dishes. Key word is decent. I will absolutely come back, because if I dine locally with family I don't have many options and my step-father would cry because Brian's is his Apex of Culinary Meccas. I also believe in supporting local business, throw that in for good measure.

Brian's ... well, Brian's is definitely a Northbridge/Uxbridge staple (Probably because it's one of the few "ok" family restaurants in the area.

A while back, Brian's got a bad name because of the cross walk out front. About 10 ... 15 years ago, an elderly couple got plowed down crossing out front. I can kind of understand why. Even with the light that they put in (the crosswalk has a three color stop light to stop all traffic) it's dangerous. The crosswalk is at the apex of a small hill and on one side you can't see the oncoming traffic.

When you walk in, you can choose to sit at the bar/in the bar setting area or in the family dining area. There are approximately 20 booths on the restaurant side with four tables. There are about 1/2 the number of booths on the bar side. There is a large dining area in the back that can be used for functions.

The decor is ... weird? yeah, weird is a good adjective for it. There are boating references all over the place as well as lobster traps etc on the walls. But, there are also hot air balloon and other "flying" themed decorations over the center row of booths. Strange.

Most meals come with the "salad bar option" which isn't spectacular (about 6 options for vegetables), 6 different salad dressings, a few "salads" like macaroni and bean. There is always a soup option and fresh bread.

In the past, I have gotten the tortellini Alfredo or the chicken Parmesan. Now, you have to understand that because I have a food allergy, I am pretty much a restaurant's nightmare but Brian's is usually very accommodating.

There is one waitress though, that scares the ba-jeesus out of me. She honestly looks like Skelator from the He-Man cartoons. She's anorexic thin and has puffy dyed-blonde hair. She's got the personality of a skeleton too!

Ive heard good things about this place but had never stopped in until last Saturday night. I am a firm believer in paying more for Excellent food but this place is just run of the mill local fare. The calamari was mediocre at best, and I dont know what was in that Onion soup I ordered, But i had gut clenching pains all night as well as tremendous gas.
They give you large portions but like  i said, Id rather pay more, get  less, and have a quality meal.Staff was pleasant.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed this place. We have eaten there twice, the second time we had a somewhat bad experience though. We ordered the daily special of bourbon chicken strips basket. When it first came out we noticed that they gave us chicken pieces not strips. When my boyfriend cut into his chicken breast, it was still frozen in the inside! The waitress was very nice and returned it and gave us bourbon chicken strips like the menu stated. They were very good.

I think this restaurant is good if you don't want to travel far and don't mind very casual food.

The only thing I HATE about this restaurant is the entrance. The light above the door attracts every bug known to man, and you have to run in and run out or you'll get a mouthful of bugs. If they could put a bug zapper out or something I would give them 4 stars.

My fiancee and I have gone in there numerous times! The first time we went there was a surf and turf special for prime rib and baked stuffed shrimp. It was absolutely delicious! Everytime we've gone in since that has never been on the menu, but everytime we've asked for it, they've never hesitated to make it for us. Now that's great service! I've decided to review since seeing the so so reviews, we've never had a bad experience there.

When posting my most recent review I realized I rarely post about a stinker.  Well if you check my profile you see I try to pay for only good food--we research best we can before we plop ourselves at a table.  So I figured I would go back in the time machine and post from an experience we had late last fall.  Let's say if my choices were between Brian's and bologna sandwiches on squishy white bread I'd just add more mustard to my sammy.  John S.'s post actually made me chuckle since hubby and I thought the food tasted and looked like nursing home food!  Bland, overly sauced, and overcooked.  The salad bar was nothing to write home about although the comments about good bread are spot-on.  Quick summary, if you're idea of a nice meal is bread and water you won't be disappointed here.  If you have slightly higher standards I'd say drive on...

This is where our elderly lady friends wanted to meet to celebrate their 87th and 82nd birthdays. One felt sick after she ate, but still thought her lunch was terrific. She just finished chemotherapy so it was probably NOT the food that made her feel sick! Nice flowering hanging baskets as you enter, but the indoor/outdoor carpet on the ramp could use a good cleaning.  Interior is decently clean but somewhat worn, dark, and dated, with "funny" signs like "if there's no golf in heaven I'm not going" and "old fishermen never die, they just smell that way." Large portions for VERY reasonable lunch prices, considering the included soup and salad bar. The overly broad menu suggests that a lot of items must be frozen/ pre-packaged/ pre-made. The salad bar was small and in an awkwardly cramped aisle, but stocked with fresh, crisp produce. The sneeze guard was very worn looking, with lots of old scotch tape residue, and should be replaced.  Fresh bread at the salad bar was excellent. Service was good but not great.  Entrees were edible but I wouldn't repeat any of the choices again.  Sirloin tips were swimming in a forgettable teriyaki sauce.  Reuben was wet and soggy on the bottom.  Hamburger club was served on two pieces of toast like a regular old sandwich, no fancy "club sandwich" presentation. The ladies liked their chowder, and the clam fritters were hot and tasty for a fried dough ball, but I didn't see or taste any clam in the one I tried.  I saw a platter of fried clams at another table that looked delicious.  So in summary, I was not impressed, but I would eat there again.  At least I didn't feel overcharged.  My elderly friend was happy because she left with a big container of leftover fries to feed her pet crows (!), and she carefully packed the unused soup crackers, bread, and butter packets to take home as well, before we left.

HIM: OK. look at the area. There's not a lot of competition. This place is the best bang for you buck when compared to the area restaurants in the Blackstone Valley. The fried clam plate and stuffed cohaugs are amazing and the portions here are huge compared to the price of the food. I've been here several times and love it, not a gourmet place or a place for a first date....or second for that matter, but perfect to pig out and wont feel bad when the parents pick up the tab. Soup and Salad bar isn't so bad, its hit or miss sometimes but the bread is always fresh. So the its either this, or your pick from 30 pizza joints in the area.

I had the displeasure of trying this place out passing through the area. It is a locals haven with average run of the mill food is served drowning in gravy's and sauces, where Shepards Pie and Meatloaf rule the menu and where bad service reigns supreme. The spot sits on a main road in this scary little town with no other restaurants unless you want to count the scarier Chinese food restaurant near this place. The interior of this place is dark and gloomy and has a dining room full of tables. It certainly draws in a crowd of regulars who are locals thinking this is the best place they have ever tried. The food is horrible, the average array of seafood, steaks and pastas and chicken, all having no taste, no flavor ad whoever is cooking has no idea how or doesnt really care. I expected to find a band aid or something scarier in my food. Do yourself a serious favor and keep driving down the road, you will find better places to eat and you won't be scared by the food or the locals.

Total townie restaurant.  That's what makes this place so great.  I promise that you won't be leaving hungry either.  Lots of food and good value.  Meals are decent size.  However, they come with salad and a soup bar.  The rotating soup of the day also has bread and pasta that goes with it.  Stick with your gut on which home-made dishes to go with.  My seafood platter was overcooked, but everything else was great.

We got seated in the "locals" section which was amusing.  Everyone in this section was up and about, talking to one another at friend's tables.  Sharing food and stories about the week.  Our waitress was a bit crabby and short, but she seemed very well known with the locals, so they all seemed to be ok with her.  The rest of the waitresses were very sweet, even when I was standing in their way waiting for something at the bar.
