Sandy, thanks for the response.  The day that i finally had enough was Friday the 30th.  There was a young, dark haired male (i assume he was a ) barback doing absolutely nothing, another skinny dark haired bartender with a narrow mustache talking and not paying attention to the bar tables AT ALL and another guy standing and chatting re whatever sport was on TV with a patron.  Plus there was a  female server chatting on and off with the bartenders as well.  Friday's after work were when i would usually go - and I usually dropped $50-$100 in just drinks.  Sitting for 5 minutes with an empty glass is simply unacceptable "service" and if you don't have serious table service, don't have tables in your bar area.

I am familiar with the music venue you facilitate and the "snobby" was pertaining your staff's overall attitude, not the clientele.  I cannot tell you the number of times that we arrived at 4 and had to chase someone down every time we wanted a drink, or the number of times we'd been there for an hour or two and were constantly having to walk to the bar for service - all while watching your staff goof off; or worse - be treated condescendingly when asking if we can get service.

Frustratingly, your servers/bartenders were usually just chatting, laughing and watching the TV and NOT helping us or other customers.

Regardless, I refuse to continue spending my money at such a pricey place and receive such piss-poor service.  I wish you well and hope no one else experiences service like this there.  I sincerely hope your staff learns the value and importance of customer service.

There's nothing I see, about returning unless you're looking for an exotic meal. But not really for the avg crowd.

I heard that the owner died and this place was taken over by someone else...well, it's went all downhill from the last few times we visited.  When you spend $100 or dinner, you expect it to be right and nothing was right.  My drink I ordered, an Old Fashioned with Smooth Ambler Old Scout, was poorly made and didn't taste right which is messed up when you pay $12 for a drink.

My steak was horrible, and cooked wrong, sides tasted plain and were lukewarm.  We went with another couple and they had similar concernes versus another time they dined here.  Service was slow and table service was worse.  At least they still take reservations, but we had to park far far away, how about a valet?  A valet goes inline with what they charge.

The only good thing about our last experience was the cheese plate...overpriced but very good.  We won't be back as we've given it more than once chance.

Not cheap but one of the few upscale really nice places in Charleston when you don't want to go to a mediocre chain.  Good food, nice bar scene and live music -- was there last night and they had a great bluegrass/banjo group.  Glad it's in our neighborhood and that the wonderful staff is continuing the business after the death of its owner Chef Wong.

I only go here when someone else is paying because it is pricey. In my experience, the food can be great (previous offerings of Jamaican pork loin and fried goat cheese salad, more recent chipotle corn chowder), okay (grilled romaine salad), or it tastes like it came from the freezer (fried wontons). I have only had service in the bar area, which sometimes gets very busy with too few employees to handle it.

I've only eaten here once, but my experience was excellent. My waitress was nice and personable. And the food was excellent. I had the buffalo burger, a dish I didn't expect to find in West Virginia, and it was very yummy. Would definitely eat here again. Plus is that it's in a cute little shopping district with fun shops. Just wish there were more of them!

Service sucked. Food was great. Bartender was my server. He was more interested in the social scene around the bar. Finally another server took my order. The salad with dried cranberries was very good. I had the grouper prepared Mediterranean style and it was delicious. I could not finish all the orzo and artichoke hearts. Suggest you flash a Platinum AMEX or a wad of cash to get the server's attention. If you're really lucky, you'll go with someone the server knows and not get ignored that way. I finally snagged another server to request my check after waiting far too long for it.

For me, this is a strange place to review as it ranges the gamut in every aspect of a critical food review for me. So, here are some points:

-The food is fairly tasty, but it's overpriced.
-The menu changes seasonally but it features mainly heavy, meat-friendly items year-round.
-They have one of the best wine selections in town.
-I appreciate the fact that some of the meat is WV grown, grass-fed and antibiotic-free.
-The service is certainly some of the best in town.
-The interiors are mostly booths and small tables, that of which remind one of an upper class Shoney's. Someone tried to create a nice atmosphere and it didn't work out very well, unfortunately.
-The clientele can be a bit socially exclusive.

Thus, I'm sure you can see why I only gave it three stars. For a place where you can easily spend $200 on 2-3 people in an evening, the restaurant should shine in more areas than excellent service and a nice wine list.

Most likely the best high-end restaurant you'll find in Charleston. The Bistro is expensive, snooty, crowded -- and the food is great.

You'll definitely want to start off with their signature BRB Chips, which are served warm and may be my favorite part about this place. All of their food is good (though, as always, Charleston is not exactly the best place to get fish), and they have a fair selection.

The Bistro is pricey, and they're loathe to let you forget it. I can't quite explain it, but the air is slightly cloying, and the feeling of being sized up never quite left me during my meal, as good as it was. It is by no means an intimate place; rather cluttered with decorations, and the wait staff is very professional. I suspect that the manager has tried very hard to create an "atmosphere." Unfortunately, it gives the impression of a very fancy lunchroom; as good as the food is, I'm always slightly relieved to leave.

Charleston has few high-end dining options.  I decided to try this place out to celebrate my 4 year anniversary with my wife.  We had the following:

    1) Appetizers- Foix Gras and Soup of the Day.  Both were OK- good but not great.

    2) Chef's Filet Beef cut and Lamb Chops Special- Both were very well prepared.  The accompanying vegetables were excellent and we were both very happy with this course.

    3) The molten cake desert- This was good but not great.  We have had as good at chain restaurants like Roy's and the Chart House.

    4) The Wine List- Probably the best part of the menu.  BRB offers several excellent choices at the $40-$50 price range as well as several outstanding choices at the $100 + range.  Can see why this place was recognized by the Wine Spectator.

The wait staff service was very good.  Our server was very attentive and offered good advice on entree selection. So why only 3 stars?  A place were you can easily spend over $200 a night should be excellent in all courses- not just in the main courses.

Service is ok to great, depends on the staff.  I've never had a dinner I've felt is worth the price.  Lunch is a much better option though still pricey.  Drinks with friends used to be nice but now it's far too busy and also pricey.  They are the first place I had bleu cheese chips and those are yummy.

The apps are nice with a good beer selection. Slightly overpriced and my sides were extremely salty. Do not get the greens or grits. The calamari was great though.

Tried the bistro on a long weekend with my wife - did not have a chance to have dinner, but did stop by for dessert and a drink.

Driving by the place it looks nice enough, but once you get inside the ambiance is really lacking for a place where you could easily drop a hundred bucks with very little effort.  The menu is pretty high end, and everything looked and sounded good, but when you're inside it just didn't seem to fit.  The decor is a strange mix of Charleston and Perkins - it looked like it had been a family restaurant and was then converted to something more along the lines of fine dining.
I say "more along the lines of fine dining" because when I go out to dinner and plan on spending some money, drinking some wine, and really enjoying the experience, I DO NOT want to be watching sports on TVs behind the bar.  And the lights need to be a dimmed a bit - we were sitting in what seemed to be almost full light which is not pleasant or relaxing, and it really added to the Perkins feel in the dining room.

The service, dessert, and drinks were fine - I'm ok with a somewhat dry, professional server who doesn't tell me their name and that they'll be serving me tonight.  It was everything else that seemed off.  Would try again for food, but only for the food in case it's in some way able to make up for the other stuff.

The food is good especially the soup of the day... The prices are alittle expensive but comparing to what other food choices that Charleston has to offer this place is worth every penny..

This place has very good food.  Got a lobster that was to die for.  A friend got a steak that was melt in your mouth tender.  Also the calamari was perfectly cooked, and the service was impeccable.  Everyone was very friendly and my water glass never got low.  So why the 4 stars?  Well, it was a bit overpriced. That steak costs 28 - 35 bucks.  So I would recommend it but only for a special night.

There's not a crabcake in Charleston worth $28!

Bridge Rd Bistro is out of their mind. I've been to the best restaurants in NYC, Philly, Wash DC, Charlotte, Jacksonville, Savannah, Atlanta, Orlando, Chicago, Houston, San Fran, LA, Seattle, and all along the Eastern seaboard and this hilljack hole in the wall wants $28 for a crabcake? LMAO. PS there's a reason their "Charleston Cheese Steak" never caught on like the Philly... Because it's a country fried steak with cheese instead of gravy. Give me a break! The chicken served with the Thai Lettuce Wraps was SMOTHERED in a sauce that I can only imagine is watered down and boiled peanut butter, terrible. PF Changs' wraps put the Bistro's to shame.

I don't mind paying $$$ for a good meal, I frequently patron restaurants with a higher priced menu, often the price comes with a favorable dining atmosphere. Bridge Rd Bistro is SO dated, ancient carpet, old hideous booths, the only attraction is a local scenic wall mural. The wait staff are rude condescending homosexuals who obviously don't like serving hetrosexual couples. Overall experience, both food and environment was a ZERO.
