Broadway Joe's

This bar is an oddity.  A few years ago it was known as The Harmony (located off Harmony Street).  Back then it was pretty much just a run of the mill gay bar.  Today this place is known as Broadway Joe's.  

After it was renamed I don't think it was ever intended to be a big gay hang out like before.  However, it is.  This place is teeny tiny, and it has a slightly bizarre mix of clientele and music.  

About half of the patrons are gay people who come across the Nebraska border to get in one more hour of drinking.  The other half are Spanish-speaking straight people.  I don't have a problem with this, it's just kind of odd when it comes to a place like this!

The music is anything from techno/house to pure country.  You really never know what you're going to get on any given night.  Sometimes the line to enter is long and sometimes you'll get right in.  It's not my favorite bar, and in my opinion, if you're going over to Iowa for one more hour of drinking, it's not worth it to drink here.
