The Boy loves wings, and got off the plane starving last time I picked him up at the airport. Â Thus, a stop at this BWW on the way home. Â Wasn't too impressed. Â The wings were about the same as every other BWW, but the service was slow & somewhat lackluster. Â I have a feeling I'll get roped into stopping here again next time we're near the airport, though.
Review Source:I don't come here for the service, I don't come here for the cheeseburgers, I come here  for the wings (traditional; boneless don't count, they're just chicken nuggets with sauce on them!) and the trivia.  What they do well, they do well.  Their wings are deep-fried to the perfect crispiness (not breaded) and tossed in your choice of their 16 sauces.  Their sauces have plenty of heat, plenty of acid, and plenty of salt.  The wings are rarely ever bloated and soggy.  They also have a pretty decent draught beer selection for a chain place.  (Including Boulevard Wheat.)  And I've been known to enjoy a basket of their sour cream and onion powdered potato wedges from time to time.  NTN Buzztime Trivia is a thing of beauty... and a great way to blow off some steam after a rough day at work!  Buzzing in with the "Playmaker" keypad interface allows you to anonymously pwn unsuspecting strangers, while enjoying your tasty wings and beers.  Want to have some real fun?  Download the Touchtunes app to your phone, and play your favorite obscure indie  band remotely on the jukebox... Then sit back and watch the confused patrons and employees.  The service isn't stellar, and you can expect to wait 20+ minutes for your wings, (that is how long they take to deep fry, after all...) but if you make it into an entertainment experience, it can be a great time.
Review Source:This is the WORST BWW I have ever patronized. Â First, let me set the record straight....I love me some wings. Â I practically crave them. Â So, last night, after taking my family up to Snow Creek, we were starving and could not wait to get back to Zona Rosa. Â The wait was long, which we expected and were not overly concerned about. Â In fact, that made us crave the food even more. Â The host said it was about 35-45 minutes. Â Like I said, LONG. Â Oh well. Â We sat down with our pager and fired up our iPhones to kill the time.
My husband noticed that there were at least five open tables while people were milling around the entrance waiting for a table. Â He mentioned it to the host and was greeted with a blank stare. Â The host clearly didn't understand English, I guess. Â (I'm being sarcastic....the host is a kid that we actually know, albeit not well, and we are aware that he speaks English). Â I guess he just didn't understand the question.
We continued to wait and when we finally got a table, we knew exactly what we wanted to order. Â I have two teenage boys and they can scarf down a lot of wings so we always do the fifty count of wings and mix up the flavors. Â We are a waitress's dream come true. Â We order, we don't dick around.....bring us the wings, tons of napkins, four big drinks and we won't bother you again.
We also are a family that loves to watch sports. Â I'm telling ya.....BWW was built with us in mind. Â We were looking forward to watching the Thunder/Rockets game, especially since James Harden now plays for the Rockets. Â Imagine our surprise when all the TVs were tuned to some stupid cage fight. Â We are obviously not UFC fans and to be honest, don't understand the frenzy that some fans have for it.
We asked the waitress if she could change at least one of the TVs to the basketball game and she said no, that it was pay per view. Â Whatever. Â We had our wings, we were hungry....whatever. Â Disappointed about a sports bar not watching a fun basketball game....sure. Â But, seriously, whatever.
As you can see, we can roll with the punches. Â That is until the punches started flying on the screen and it turned into watching the goriest fight I have ever seen. Â I was gagging. Â It was awful. Â And definitely did nothing for my appetite. Â I could not look up at the screen, lest I be traumatized by the gore. I swear to you that I'm not being dramatic here.
And, by not looking at the screen, that's when I noticed that there were TONS of little kids in the room. Â I mentioned this to the waitress, who SHRUGGED HER SHOULDERS!!!! Â If BBW is not kid friendly, why would they have a children's menu? Â The heck with me losing my lunch over all the blood....I'm pretty sure that kids should not have their innocent little heads filled with that. Â This is why people have become desensitized to violence. Â
I will never frequent this establishment again. Â The Peanut has excellent wings and that's where we'll go.
I have been to many BWWs and this one has everything the other reviewers talk about in this and other BWW reviews. They have great wings, mediocre other stuff but this one has something that some of the others lack, a Management team that REALLY cares.
It was UFC night. Packed. We sat in the bar. Our server worked our table of 9 like it was no big deal. Was SUPER friendly. Very quick. Drinks were rarely empty. Wings were tasty but the big thing was how the management interacted with everyone.
We got there as it started to get busy. One manager walked over took control of the door and said 'We've got all these open tables and people standing in the walk way!' He got all of us sat very quickly. Then I noticed one came out of the back helping in the kitchen, one stayed up front, one was in the bar and one floated around. I am glad to see BWW making the investment to properly run this restaurant it makes a difference and I will definitely be back because I trust my experience will be awesome!
It's a Buffalo Wild Wings.
OK, I was going to be a smart aleck and make that my review, but I'll add a few notes about this location.
It's a pretty new location, and the TVs (the smaller screens) all seemed to be newer--they still have great brightness, color, darkness, etc.
We went during Divisional Playoff weekend for the NFL, showing up 5 minutes after the end of Sunday early 12pm game and 10 minutes before the start of the 3:30pm game. The place was maybe 1/4 full at that point, so plenty of seating. It never completely filled, even by the time we left around 6:30pm.
I still wish they sold pitchers of beer, but the prices of whatever beer is on special (Bud Light?) is pretty good by the tall glass, so for 2 people it's not that big of a deal.
Aside from the wings and beer, we got an ultimate nacho before the game. Pretty good, with chili, jalepenos, etc. The chicken isn't really worth the extra ~$1 or so, and I wish they melted shredded cheese on it instead of using liquid cheese, but other than that...
It's a Buffalo Wild Wings.
I didn't believe in dry rubs, until I tasted the wings with the buffalo flavored dry rub. Um, what? Heaven. I bought said dry rub prior to leaving this restaurant. It's fast paced and probably a great place for a group of friends to get a little drunk and to consume vast amounts of tasty calories. No complaints, fast service.
Review Source:Took my son for his birthday, he loves wings and it was new. Â I did not expect too much, and having low expectation...... well it was just OK. Â
We were brought samples of the sauces that we requested for the wings, and they were good, but I prefer a wing that has less sauce, but the boy did like them. Â I had the ribs & popcorn shrimp! Â Not a lot there, in portion or flavor, but passabel.
If I return it will be for beer not really the food, but if you enjoy tons of large TV's and sports check it out!
I know, I know, go for the wings. Â But, I saw fish tacos! Â I tried, I really did, but stay far away from these. Â Not only are they made with zero imagination, they really used the cheapest ingredients which equaled almost zero flavor. Â I believe they make it just to fill space on the menu. Â Sadly, there was nothing fresh about these and they were served with a sweet tartar sauce (also not their specialty.) Â
However, the server was fun and really catered to all our weird requests, including ordering some Asian Zing sauce to try to doctor up that fish taco. Â It chips and salsa, super thick chips and according to our cool waitress, a "patented salsa," Â which became my main course and I did like those. Â
I'm tempted to add another star just because they have Bud Light Lime ON TAP! Â It's tough though. Â There are many other places in KC to get excellent wings and as the rating indicates, their wings are A-OK. Â When I visit in the future it'll surely be for the sports bar atmosphere and uhm, not the fish.
The food was pretty typical for a BWW and tasted pretty good. Â The staff at the front of the house was friendly and our waitress Amber was very nice. Â They did just open this location and their was a lot of confusion going on. Â While we were eating we kept getting other waiters or runners trying to drop off food that belonged to other tables. Â I think they will do alright and it is nice to have an alternative when coming up here besides hooters when your going to see a movie near bye. Â
I would just suggest waiting a few weeks until they get it figured out.
