In a town surprisingly lacking in drinking options, this American Legion serves as the de facto neighborhood watering hole and proudly advertises itself as open to the general public. Â (Though most Legion bars are.)
The bar is in the bar back, in a separate room behind the meeting all, but it's also accessible directly from a side entrance. Â (Back behind the far right end of the American Flag painted on the side of the building.)
Because this is technically a private club it is exempt from the Parkville smoking ordinance -- assuming they haven't changed the ordinance since my last visit.
Like any true neighborhood dive it's a very friendly and welcoming place. Â Â The menu looks tasty but I haven't tried the food yet.
The bar is open 7 days a week. Â Breakfast is served on Sunday mornings, and various food and drink specials rotate throughout the week. Â There's also a bingo night, an open mic night, and other entertainment.
