64 tavern & grille

Gave it another try last night and once again thought it was pretty good.  Our waitress was friendly and attentive.  The salads and wings were pretty tasty, too.  Beer was cold, and while it would be nice if it were less, I don't mind paying for cold craft beer.  It's a bar and grill so if you set your expectations accordingly I don't think you'll be disappointed.  We haven't been.  I will admit, however, that I don't think the food is up to the Rusty Horse or Nick and Jakes standards. To each his own.

Well I must say after dinner we left saying .... Eh... There is nothing that sets this place apart from a regular bar and bar food. The Ruben was good, so,was the "mustang Sally" however the fries were either over cooked or rewarmed by frying again.
The owners went to the top as the beers on tap are $4.50 they are good and cold but that is more than the area supports. 64 t&g isn't going to make a name for itself by overcharging. The final item was the sides. 54th street, Rusty Horse, and I think even Nick & Jakes (I don't go there) let you swap sides no problems, this UPSCALE BAR charges ya 2 bucks if you want baked beans instead of fries. I personally won't return, because I believe this is what drove paddy o's to close. Charging the customer for what....everything and then some. And returning with mediocre food. Oh Ya our server was swamped yet the place was virtually empty, and other servers were standing around yawning... Do something.. You don't get pad for sitting on your butt.....or, do you..

I was pretty excited about this new place in the northland and had been wanting to try it since it opened.  We finally made our way down here for the $1 taco Tuesdays.  Unfortunately, I wasn't very impressed.  I ordered a side salad with blue cheese dressing and one beef and one chicken taco.  I found the salad very generic and bland.  The lettuce had lots of brown spots and the blue cheese dressing tasted like the fake cheap blue cheese dressing found at a dfac.  The tacos were just ok.  The price was good but they just tasted bland too.  Both of the meats could have used some (ok, more than some) seasoning and the ground beef was almost burnt looking to me.  
I love supporting local places and I wish this place had left me wanting more.  Being so close, we may give it another try sometime and try some of the other regular menu items but I don't think it'll be anytime too soon.
