BuuuullllldAaaaawwwwwggg! Mid Citayyyy! Yeah I don't care what you uptown clowns say, this is THE Bulldog.
My favorite bartender of all times is in this establishment - Stevie and he keeps em coming cold n fresh.
I could stay here all night, in fact I have stayed here until they ran everyone out with some weird Ali baba music that you hear in a Lebanese restaurant. That's their way of saying "good night, GTFO" but that's cool. Otherwise they play GREAT music here and I think it's kind of cute how most of the guys crowd around the entrance so when you raise your drink to keep it out of the way you have no choice but to rub your boobs on some of them. It's clever I'll give it to em!
Best part? Hipster free. Because this is Mid City almost Lakeview. They don't venture here.

Great lawn men made here too. Cute little Tulane grads with worthless degrees who will come over and mow the lawn shirt free? Oh yeah, this is where they congregate.

When I think of bars, I can't help but think of loud music and obnoxious people. Why can't there be a bar that's chill with space to move, music that's fun and not too loud so you can actually have a conversation? Oh wait! That's The Bulldog Mid City!
I completely enjoyed the outdoor patio even in the drizzling rain. Gabe and I went here after our dinner at Luke at his suggestion. He was a regular here awhile back and always talked about how I might like it. I loved it! Great old school music and such a variety too. The crowd was in the 30-something range.... late 30's and older maybe.
What I usually hate about bars is how cramped and stuffy they can be. The outdoor patio gives us claustrophobs a place to not freak out while looking for a stool near the exit.
The canopy of trees with lanterns and string of lights are a nice touch. Definitely look forward to going back.  
I couldn't think of a reason not to give it 5 stars.
