This is probably the best sports bar and the best patio bar I've found in Topeka.  Inside there tons of large HD TVs throughout the room.  Outside there is tons of space to relax in the beautiful Topeka spring weather.  Beer was reasonably priced and all the fried appetizers were delicious.  Nothing revolutionary about this place, but nothing to complain about.  I went with a group of 50+ people, and there was no issue handling the rush.

If you like drinking coors light out of a big plastic cup while listening to Nickelback and having creepy rednecks eye your girlfriend all night, this is the place for you!!  Bizarre place all around, you have to go through a metal detector upon entering this fine establishment, and once inside, you will realize why.  If some white trash hooligan (usually wearing a t-shirt featuring a ultimate fighter logo, a tiger or a dragon) does decide to pick you out, fear not, this bar always has an entire row of police cars outside in the likely event that an altercation ensues.

This place gets 2 stars because of its 3 redeeming qualities.  First, the food is not too shabby.  Secondly, there is an extensive patio that is nice on a night with good weather, and on the weekends there is usually a decent band playing.  Finally, a halfway decent comedy club adjacent to this dive occasionally brings in some good comedians that I have seen on Comedy Central and heard on Sirius.

BEWARE!!!!!

I had a going away party for a coworker here. There were approximately 15 people in my party. I was picking up the tab for myself, my coworker and his son, everyone else was on their own. The service was a not the best but I'll give the server the benefit of the doubt that she was busy. My problem arose when she added an 18% grat on my bill and didn't bother to tell me. I added an additional 25% on top of her 18%. Yes I probably should have checked the bill closer but she should have said something.

Called the owner the next day, left a message. Tuesday of the following week I finally got a call back from the owner who tells me I need to take it up with the server directly because the money went into her pocket and it is the server's discression to add the 18% or not. WTH?! Now I have to be mean to a server who probably doesn't make much to begin with!

After much debate I decided to be the bad guy. What she did was ethically wrong. When I called her back to talk to her she asks to put me on hold so she can "fix drinks" (keep in mind its not even 4pm yet) and then comes back and asks for a number to call me back because she's "really busy here."

Do you think I'll get a call back? Bet not.

If you're going to go here with a large group....make sure you check your bill BEFORE you leave! And be patient...its going to take you FOREVER to get waited on!

Update 12/22/10 - Surprisingly I got a call back from the server.  She sees absolutely nothing wrong with the fact that she received a 43% tip from me and refuses to issue a refund.  I now have yet another call into the owner.
