Food was VERY good. One of my favorite burgers in Myrtle Beach, in fact. Also, nice deck overlooking the beach. However; I found the deck environment to be a little dirty, sticky, smelly for my taste. If it were just cleaner, this would be a great place to hang out. I just can't see myself going back due to the lack of cleanliness. Also, band seemed to leave pretty early. I think we got there at 8:00 and they only played one more song before they left.
Review Source:We had been sightseeing all day and I had read on Yelp that Bummz was a good, inexpensive place for lunch. Â When we walked in, the place seemed like a dingy bar... complete with people bellied up to the bar, drinking and smoking! Â At 2 in the afternoon! Â Ha! Â
But we forged on to the back patio and picked a table in the sun. Â Our waitress was prompt to the table and very friendly. Â We ordered a club sandwich and fries to split. Â She brought it out with an extra tray so it was easier to share. Â The fries were great, very well seasoned. Â And the Club was one of the best we had. Â The applewood smoked bacon and swiss cheese were excellent. Â The ham and turkey were not the "loaf lunchmeat". Â Very good and reasonably priced. Â We will return.
I dont know why ppl wouldnt like this place - dont go here is you are looking for a gourmet meal - go here if you are looking for a drink, watch a game, listen to music and have better then average bar food.
If the weather is nice, make sure you sit out back, you may not want to get up and leave it is soooo nice....
Service was horrible, waitresses were ignoring people. Â Couple next to us got up and left, told the waitresses on the way out about being ignored, they laughed. Â Salad was good, but the prices are ridiculous for the service. Â People were joking out on the deck because they had to get their own silverware, napkins, ketchup, so we were all in the same boat, lousy service. Â If they said those waitresses just started this week, I would believe it because they were pitiful. Â I think the owner is only concerned with the drinkers, they seemed to be a priority. Â We would have left but it was raining and we had walked. Â Never again, there are way better places to spend money in MB.
Review Source:Wanted a burger, so we took a short walk from our hotel (The Breakers) here in Myrtle Beach downs to Bummz.
Seated ourselves on the deck out back so we could have a great view of the Atlantic Ocean while we ate. They also have live entertainment on the deck in season.
We both got a burger basket which included seasoned crinkle cut fries and a dill pickle spear. My wife went with a regular hamburger while I got a bacon cheese burger that was out of this world. A 6oz patty cooked just right and served hot and juicy. But what made this burger was the bacon. The menu said it as Boars Head and it had the best smoky taste to it and was some of the best bacon I had eaten.
Service was friendly and attentive.
My only gripe with Bummz is the Happy Hour specials that were not that special. If 4 beers cost $13 during happy hour, I would hate to see what they cost if it was'nt.
Other than than that the food was very good and the view was great.
I was gonna give this place only 1 star for a really bad experience but I needed to give 2 good stars for a great location and amazing view. Everything I look for in a bar. Beach front outdoor sitting with a chill atmosphere. Â Which is why after searching many places to have a drink and relax, we (lover & self) decided on this one. This place has a great tropical chic decor. Its a nice local hangout type of place.
Took away 3 VERY BAD stars for a horrible service. This place and its surrounding environment is predominantly white middle class. I am not white or black (which is also dominant in certain parts of S. Carolina) but I have to say that I make decent money to vacation a lot. & My car was the best car in the parking lot.
Saying that, as soon we walked in NOONE wanted to attend to us. When we finally got seated it took over 20mins for any server to even greet us at the table. It was very clear that they did not want to serve us because we were "not in the right place"
I kept seeing them serve other people over & over. And no, the place was nowhere near packed. We were simply just not one of them. I was patient because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. I didnt want to believe that racism is still such a huge problem in this country.
It's a shame because all I wanted to do was waste money on amazing seafood and lots of drinks.
Despite all that, I left a pretty big tip. Hopefully to open up their eyes and brake any kind of stereotype.
Do you like a great view? Â If so, Bummz is your place as long as you can get a seat on the back deck. Â They get really busy during tourist season so get there early to get a good seat. Â The atmosphere can become slightly hectic and very loud on busier nights. Â I have been going to Bummz regularly since 1998 and it's one of my favorites. Â The food is average, the beer is cold and it's one of the few places in Myrtle Beach you can eat outside looking out over the ocean and take an after-dinner walk on the beach. Â If you're on vacation that's what it's all about. Â Bummz is a very simple beach bar with a very simple menu. Â Their kitchen and storage space is limited so they do the best they can with what they have. The staff is friendly and they work hard although they are sometimes overwhelmed by the tourist crowds. Â I recommend Bummz for the casual beach atmosphere. Â Just don't expect a quiet experience unless it's off season or one of their slow nights.
Review Source:Sun, Fun and Casual atmosphere. A great place to relax and meet friends. Actually the first time we went was during a storm on a Saturday afternoon. Sitting at the Tiki bar, our bartender Jeff was the sunshine missing that day. Â With a full house attendance, he hustled to make sure everyone's thirst was quenched. Â
Three hours of great conversation, making new friends and looking over the ocean (despite the rain)...it made for a fun weekend excursion.
After a week of being in a beach house with thirteen people, my boyfriend and I decided to go out for a nice, casual dinner. We drove up and down Kings Highway and along the boardwalk and decided on Bummz. It offered a tiki bar and outdoor seating with a nice view of the beach. A sign in the front said to seat yourself and we found a little table outside with an umbrella and a server quickly came over to give us menus and take our drink order.
The menu listed a few burgers, quite a bit of large dinner entrees, and some salads. The dinner entrees ranged from $15 to $30 and I wasn't that hungry, but I wanted more than a salad. I am not a picky eater, but I do not like burgers and I really just wanted a chicken sandwich, but they didn't have any on the menu so I settled for fish and chips ($14) and my boyfriend ordered the same. Everything on the menu looked pretty pricey for a place called Bummz.
While we waited on our food, we enjoyed the view and the music from the man playing guitar and singing Jason Mraz covers by the bar, but he wrapped up shortly after we ordered. There were a few people playing corn hole in the sand next to the last row of tables and chairs. Our food arrived after awhile and it was ok. The fries were crinkle cut and seasoned and there were three pretty big sizes of fried fish.
After my third bite, there was a loud noise. I turned around and two men at the bar were in a fist fight. The woman that was sitting on a barstool minutes before was now on the floor and the large table behind us with about 10 people all rose up to jump in on the fight. One of the men quickly ducked out the side entrance and the restaurant manager tried to break up the fight. It quieted down a little when the manager said the police had been called, but then about thirty seconds later everyone started fighting again. The manager was yelling at everyone to get out. It was chaos. The people playing corn hole were with some of the people involved in the fight and as they were leaving, they started fighting with the other people, too. Before all the people involved in the fight could actually leave, the police had arrived and started questioning people.
It finally really did quiet down and we looked around and realized that two tables around us had left during the commotion with their plates half eaten and their checks unpaid. I couldn't blame them. It was pretty crazy. One of the servers that was walking by when the fight broke out had blood on her arm. It took awhile for our server to come back and give us our check, but we were pretty occupied watching the police yell at a teenage boy.
What was supposed to be a nice, relaxing dinner turned into a crazy fiasco. Other than the fight, the service was decent (a little slow), but I thought the prices were pretty steep for casual dining.
this is definitely a good beach bar/restaurant. Â i always stay next door at the breakers and it's always a plus to be sitting on our balcony listening to the live music coming from bummz. Â is the food gonna knock your socks off.....no. but it is definitely good enough, if not pretty good! indoor and outdoor bar with cheap draught beers is also a plus. Â and a relaxing outdoor seating/eating area for sure. Â this is one of the staples while staying in myrtle beach for our contingency. very good vaca beach bar, you definitely feel like your on vaca when eating/drinking here!
Review Source:This place was not very good. Â I would have given it one and a half stars. Â Service was bad. Â
I went there for lunch and tried the Club sandwich with chips and the Grilled Chicken Salad. Â The club was below average and the grilled chicken salad was the worst I've ever had. Â
If this place is known to be more of a bar, then I'm not sure how they survive because the margaritas were awful here. Â Overpriced, watered-down, and weak. Â We sat outside waiting for our check for over 15 minutes. Â I never said anything to our server but that
is ridiculous. Â When we were walking out, I noticed the place had filled up. Â Did these people know what they were getting themselves into? Â I'm going to assume they didn't. Â I would rather go to a fast-food restaurant than dine here again.
This place gets me comming back all the time for years. Â Its just a little cozy resturaunt/bar stuck between two highrise condos. Â The service and food is great. Â Upon my last trip I didn't see just fried oysters but a fried oyster sandwich and asked the waitress If I could just get a dozen fried oysters. Â I got what I asked for and man they were great. Â If you ever make it on a mild November day and your able to dine outside, do it because I was able to see many dolphins swimming up the coast.
Review Source:Snowbirds doing karaoke, and Yuengling on draft?!?!
Hell yeah! Places like this are those places where you bring the party. You decide if you want to have fun and if you do, you make it happen. I had a blast sitting here and just being goofy. Everyone else is doing the same.
There were some talented seniors singing their hearts out, as well as a few people our age including two girls that just killed every song they sang (in a good way). Leo is the karaoke MC and he does a great job of getting everyone to participate and have a good time.
Oh, and did I mention that they have Yuengling on draft? Oh wait, yes I did. And did I mention that we got SEVEN for TWENTY DOLLARS?! That's a steal!
