Butch's Grillacatessen & Eatzeria

Butch's has a good location just out of the square in Bloomington near 7th and Washington. They have a huge menu with lots of options, but mostly pizza, subs, and salads. I had the "big decision," which is a type grilled sub where you get to choose what to put on it. I had chicken fingers, fries, mozzarella sticks, ketchup, and ranch. The sub is giant and being able to pick what food I wanted on it made it delicious. One downside to the big decision is that there is too much bread. They load the sub up with the foods of your choice, but there is more bread than anything else and the bread fills you up before you can finish it. Compared to the rest of the menu the big decision is above average in price, but overall the big decision was a good decision for the price because of the amount of food you get. Besides taking your order at the counter and making your meal, there isn't much customer employee interaction, so the service did not impact my meal. Inside the restaurant there are only a handful of tables so the majority of people got their food to go. Since most people get their food to go the restaurant was mostly empty besides employees, so it can be kind of quiet. Also there are about as many TVs as tables so if you are waiting for your food you have something to watch or you can look at the IU memorabilia on the walls.

Butch's catered an event for me recently and I was incredibly pleased with the spread they put together.  They managed to accommodate a variety of diets (gluten free, vegan), and the food was delicious and presented very nicely.  Several people commented on the quality of the food, in particular the vegetarian eggplant wraps.  They were able to work within my group's budget and put together a tasty and filling lunch menu for us.  I strongly recommend Butch's catering to anyone with an event coming up.

Huge selection of New York style pizza and sandwiches.  The "loaded" sandwiches with fries are just mostly bread, but the pizza and pasta are all good.
