My family and I have dined at C Restaurant & Bar numerous times, both because we have family in Monterey and also because I dine there on my scuba diving trips.
I cannot begin to comprehend how disappointed I was at this restaurant during our visit yesterday. Â It was a family reunion with my parents flown in from overseas. Â We had brunch at C and while our server was good, the manager in the restaurant skipped our table at water refill tours, not only once but three times. Â After the first time he skipped, we thought it was an oversight. Â Then we became frustrated after the second time of skipping us. Â We deliberately observed the third round and sure enough, every single table was poured except ours. Â We paid 18% service charge for our table size of 7, and didn't even get water refilled.
We hope it was simply a case of horrible service. Â The worst case would be racial discrimination -- we hope not but certainly cannot help ourselves but wonder.
Average food, less than mediocre service. There are literally 7 full tables here and I counted 8 waiters and bus boys walking around like headless chickens. Â Never got the water I asked for, the appetizer and food came out at the same time, and never saw the waitress until the check was delivered.
I guess there is a give and take... the better the view, the crappier the food and service. Â The bar experience was good... knowledgeable and friendly bar staff, and delicious drinks.
